i should get some pics, its not the bottom bolt, that sticks through the controll arm. its the one that pinches the ball in there. it was loose till i turned up the heat, welded the seam and it shrunk right up, and grabbed the ball. -

buff it off with high speed polisher, and light compound. thats all i can think of, that stuff is hell, subar and toyota must use the same evil adhesive. razor blade, or ice scraper and wd 40. works for sure, also -

i lub tiggin, but cant afford a machine. i use a flux core mig, i have a bottle for it, but on exhaust and the crap i do, gas doesnt make too muchof a difference. and the good ole stick. i sticked the ball joint. i have 120 miles on the ball joint, i might just leave it. =] -

you can say your alt is good, and all the tests in the world wont tell you. morganm had a bad one. did the same stuff you are describing. we tested it, a subaru tech tested it, and they all said ok. swapped it with a junkyard one and it was fine. these alts are wierd. -

Most embarassing place you've been stuck in your Ru?

not strange but scary: theres this place, south of minneapolis, out in the country, its called the Ulands. its about 10 square miles of wierd stuff, weapons buildings, explosives dumps, silos, what looks like blast shield walls, all kinds of wierd mililtary stuff. needless to say its illegal to go there. but its about the only spot we got close by, and i was about 17. i got stuck on a trailer hitch. goint up a steep hill, i didnt make it up, and tried to back up. got the hitch dug into the ground, and i was wedged. pulled the emergency brake, and the cable snapped. then in notice a fire under the hood! took me about 30 minutes to dig my way out. the place is alot different now, and not nearly as prohibited. there was even a big sigh DANGER DO NOT FIGHT EXPLOSIVES FIRES! thats good stuff. -
hi, im tony, im adicted to welding. i cant help it. today, i couldnt get the ball joint out of its socket with conventional methods, so i welded a big chunk of pipe on the end, and hammered it off. also i broke the pinch bolt that holds in the ball joint, so i welded it =/. it holds reel good, im a pretty good welder, but it seems slightly ghetto. another time i couldnt find a screw driver, so i welded a small pipe onto the end of 4 screws to get them out. i think i have a problem, whenever i run into a snag i look at one of the welders and get great ideas. anyone else suffering from this sickness? ps. im gonna drill out the broken bolt tomorrow and do it right, but it was gettin dark and cold =]

pics of er27 engine in a brat?
archemitis replied to archemitis's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
and the main reason for putting this thing in there is cuz it looks so cool. i aint coverin it up with a radiator =] and its gotta look stock from the outside. turbo coming soon. im runing out of time and garage space, so thats gotta wait. -
oh yeah, swap fuel pumps. run new rubber lines, and clamps, while still using the carb metal lines. and use the tank vent line for the return line(its bigger than the stock return line, or just run a new return line. the stock one is tiny.

hehe, you guys know where the king of diamonds(strip club) in inver grove heights is? my dads shop is right across the street from there, and i'll be there finishing stripping of my xt6. and getting the motor started on a hoist. hopefully. theres some mud over that way, morganm can confirm this hopefully. also theres nice pizza shop right next door. never been to the strip club tho. otherwise where are you guys goin?

im not even kidding. im pretty sure that was me with the note. i do that way too much in uptown =]i live right by bobs java hut. too many subarus, anybody need a 2x hatch for the winter? i get lots of respect from all the punkrock/lesbian chicks in my neighborhood for my subaru collection. one guy even asked"what you got under the hood?" =] i said mpfi!

its most likely spfi right? i think its easy, but the first one i did one year ago, was kinda hell, till i learned how the computer works. swap disty, swap intake manifold, swap wires from the motor, to the computer, give the computer power, wire in two relays. use the stock power wires for the coil, use the stock wires for guages. pretty simple thing to do realy. could take one week, could take one year.
