  1. i always wondered why nobody has done that yet, if you wanna go through all the trouble. get the rear disc backing plate, and take two front calipers, and drill new holes in the backing plate, space as nessecary and hook up the cable, like toyota, or any other rear emergency brake car.
  2. mine worked just fine, but i never had the need to use it. i would realy rather use the emergency brake, if i am ever in that situation. i disconnected mine, with the ea82 swap and dont miss it at all =]
  3. the egr shouldnt do anything at idle, unless its leaking air directly into your manifold. otherwise it might be your carb.
  4. or your wastegates poopin out. you can usually hear a bad boost leak.
  5. does your hood still have the vac hose stickers on it? should show you how to plumb it
  6. 200 for two turbos? whats the problem here? unless your at a u pull yard, thats as good as it gets i think.
  7. dont let not having a lift stop you. my non lifted one goes everywhere my buddies lifted one does i just might have to hit it a little faster.
  8. maybe i missed it, but how come the interior is full of smoke, and the cars shootin white stuff, before the race? sounds fun as hell, wish there was stuff like that around here. damn midwest!_!
  9. my dads girlfriend offroaded a 79? woody wagon, in texas after a few beers. im sure it had some ghetto rigged stuff on it, and that was 89.
  10. parts break sometimes, and since thereshundreds of peepl here on the board and like 10 of them have had problems, it doesnt nessecarily mean they are all doomed to break. mine works good still, and doesnt leak, or about 5k miles now. i always have a spare one under the seat, and when something goes wrong, i check it first. it looks cool too. isnt there some warrantee?
  11. the thing i like the best about blocking it off, is that your intake will stay alot cleaner. along with a pcv rerouting, and you intake will stay shiney inside, even after lotsa miles.
  12. i live in minneapolis, and my dog hangs out on the porch. not too many subarus pass, but when one does, he looks out the window, like its me comin down the road. even animals know!_!
  13. suonds cool, but the 1.8 turbo brat, a few posts down, would still smoke your v8!_! cast iron blocks are for suckers
  14. i tried my damndest to pull him out, with my hatch. but he outweighs me by like 700lbs so it was useless.
  15. run it in 4x! matching tires and good fluid in your diff, and tranny is about all you can do, as far as i know. or switch to awd =p
  16. efi rools, i was at work yesterday talkin to a guy that builds gyrocopters(not commercially ). he said he uses subaru mpfi and an ea82 on one of his choppers. he was there wanting to buy two 115 hp harley watercooled motors, for his next one!_! those are efi too. if its good enough for air its good for the ground. hehe i like efi, but carbs work good too, as long as its not a hitachi with 130k miles on it.=]
  17. make a post at the marketplace, prolly the best way. all of the ones i have are bolted to cars =]
  18. junkyard, unless you want to wait to have somebody ship you one.
  19. i like my xt6 seats way more than my impulse rs seats. lotsa work and welding. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=12335&highlight=xt6+seats+hatch
  20. my ea81 hydro ticks very loudly, and has for 20k miles now, i have tried everything. cept a new pump. that car has 111 k miles on it, i als o have an ea82 that ticked, last it ran, and had just started after i let a cousin borrow it for a summer =P its got 127k i think its from poor maintenance,(both these cars had black black oil when i got them) if you dont change your oil enough, it will make your lifters crap out sooner than they should.
  21. my ea81 pump i tok apart was actually catching at one part,on the gerator, and clicked past it :-\ with only 111k miles. i replaced it(the gerator gear thingy) with one with 180k on the ticker, and it stoped tickin. you can measure it with a feeler guage too i believe.
  22. ea82 power!_! that is all you will hear from me
  23. i like 180degree thermostats. looks like a summer (mostly) vehicle, so it should help. might be as simple as adding an inch of space where the radiator is mounted, or making a scoup to direct air flow. or oil coolers are cool , and you could stick one right in the air flow, they make a huge difference. looks like fun
