Who wants a Centerforce clutch for an EA82?
archemitis replied to Nug's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
i havent slipped my stock replacement from partsbin.com, yet, but i have a centerforce in my 4runner, and i used to burn that thing out every 3k miles. the centerforce, dual friction, stage 3 or whatever, has held for 20k now. they are good stuff -

oh yeah, if you use the probe, or mazda one, you use your old ea82 exh and compressor housing, but all the ford/mazda wheels and cartridge.
-
unf, if your not afraid of cutting and pounding, it will fit. dooder, theres not reely any arguing that, its not gonna hit the front frame rails, just the floorpans? oh no, my seats are 5 inches farther back than stock, so that shouldnt be a problem. and... you have 3.5 inches inches more lift than me, and about 2 inch taller tires?!_! you wussed out i am the almighty subaru guy that knows all!_! believe it mang!_!
-
get a ford probe, mazda turbo, or a stock junkyard ea82 turbo. junkyard all the way man, otherwise its a rip off!_!
-
i thnk what morganm is saying is... if your not a wussie you could make them fit by trimming the crap out of your car!_! he had to cut and hammer a ton more stuff than alot of ea82 guys because his susp sits a little shorter than a 4x would without newer shocks/springs. anything is possible. i got 25.5 inchers on my stock hatch, without the lift cranked in. so with a 3 inch lift, and trimming and cranking the stock lift. 31s would fit. its all about how far you wanna go. i'de rather have bigger tires with as little lift as possible. tires give you the ground clearance, not the lift.

How to Use a Multimeter
archemitis replied to Bill90Loyale's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
on the sensor testing, a water temp sensor works between 0 and 5 volts, for efi(say 0volts tells the computer it is 0 degrees, and 5 volts tells it 200degrees, not sure if the temps are on, or even close, but just as an example). so one wire goin in has 12, i think, and the other wire spits out the 0-5 volts for a signal. so if you test the wire goin back that should have 0-5 and it has something like 12 then you know that sensor is bad. alot of sensors can be tested like that, and if you have a factory service manual, not chiltons crap, i hear its all in there. -
thepartsbin.com i got just the clutch disc from there for 30 bucks, and the pp was another 60 i think. reely cheap

archemitis replied to nutt7's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
ac helps to kill subarus in hot weather too. ditch the ac -
heh streetable is the thing im wonderin about, drag race cam in a offroad car? the guy said "heavy street" i thought all ea82 cams are the same right?
-
just called delta cams in washington, and they couldnt tell me much.... he was like we do two, big one and a little one. said the big one is streetable, but didnt know much about what compression they recommend. i wanst sure if they sell the same one for the low comp carb one as the spfi. either way quoted 65 each with exchange. might have to do it soon. make them the day after you pay.

What is the bottleneck in the EA82 SPFI?
archemitis replied to oobnuker's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
the bottle neck is the fuel injector. make a tb that has like 2 or 3 injecors shoting in from the side, instead in the middle, restrictint all that air. a good spfi rools! -

aftermarket fuel pump problems...
archemitis replied to mcbrat's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
my fuel pump is inside my cab. along with the electrical. the fuel filter is outside the car. after hearing about vickaroos fuel pump gettin disabled temporarily by mud i decided to leave it in the cab, even though everybody says its dangerous. but you got a brat! put it in the bed, and wire it direcley, then you wont have to count on the 20 year old wiring, on something so important. hasnt there been alot of peepl that have wired directly, because of the same types of problems? put it on a switch, and its theft proof.
