  1. Our friends down under call them "Bits-R-Missin"...Kinda fits if you ask me. *grins* That said the Galant VR4 is a great find...DSM speed/agility in a user friendly 4dr package
  2. That's better than $2000 worth of stereo in a $200 Honda.
  3. Shouldn't be a problem with the "butt" style connections. I'm sure you don't need to be told that heat shrink tubing is your friend in this situation too.
  4. Sorry, my bad, I meant that you need to repin them, if you're going to be replacing the wires.
  5. Either method should do the trick bratman. Having seen the wiring harness diagrams in the FSM's I'd run new wiring!! The XT is one big ball of wires! (Ok so it's a wedge of wire) I'm not sure if there's a repinning kit for subies, but that'd be the best solution. To pull out the affected pins from the harness, crimp on new terminals & reinstall.
  6. I run a 300w (peak) inverter. It's powered from the P/O amp wiring. I run a 25a fuse in the "monster" fuse holder under the hood. This means it's wired straight into my batt, but fused for your protection, and "0" guage for her pleasure. I run my Lappy & cell phone charger from it on trips. Unibrook, that depends on the saw's current draw, or power demands. If you have an Amp rating or watt rating, you can find if the 100W will carry it. Remember though that most inverters are rated at PEAK output. They can only sustain peak for a few seconds at a time. After that you let out the magical smoke that makes all electronics operate.
  7. That is just INSANE! Those WRC drivers are THE BEST. Let's see Jeff Gordon, or Michael Schumacher do THAT!!
  8. It looks just like this, except with a gold pinstripe & gold inlay in the wheels.
  9. I found on a local lot a 99 Legacy 2.5GT 30th anniversary edition. This car is OMG that's RED! Red, with gold trim. Is this a rare thing, and is it worth the $5500? 57K mi auto, leather, cd changer, all factory.
  10. So we call her "Roxie". Since Rob is Connie's adopted Daddy, that makes Roxie Rocky's Aunt.
  11. Rocky looks great there Connie. Of course he looks better in person! I know Killboy got pics of Kat, & I can't wait to see them. Kat photographs well, but doesn't look as good in person.
  12. Thanks guys, but the smoke is definately coming from under the hood. What you guys are describing is from the exhaust pipe. IMHO I feel it's coming from an axle seal, or a tiny tear in a CV boot. I'm just wondering which would be more common, and will either do damage if I keep an eye on them. An axle seal would be replaced when I do brakes next. As a "while I'm in there" thing. A torn CV boot I'll let go until it starts making a noise. Especially since Subie CV's seem so bulletproof.
  13. BUT the chassis are identical in as far as mechanically. IIRC all EA82 series share chassis components. EXCEPT the XT6. The 6 shares more with the later Legs & Imps, though the basic suspension architecture is still EA82. I'd think your RX would share more body parts with the Loyale, or GL/DL sedans.
  14. Pop the clutch in an AWD car & you'll find the true meaning of "driveline snatch"
  15. I'll offer my apologies to Mrs. Huck then. Though being mistaken for someone your daughter's age is a compliment, right?
  16. I may have a few suggestions for next year. When Austin gets XT6.net back up I'll post them up. Much of what I'll suggest will make the meet more "family friendly". It may also broaden it's appeal to more members. I organized the 1st annual Pinto Car Club of America meet, and it was a smash hit among members. Being a "local" I can scout locations. I'd also be willing to make any/all reservations neccessary.
  17. I think only the 1st year OBW's had moonroofs. After that they went to the "High Top" look. My '97 LSI Wagon has one & I love it. Look here for more Outback info.... http://www.cars101.com/outback_archive95-97.html
  18. I dunno if anyone got Pics Of Jeffast's bargain basement SVX on the road. I DO know that Killboy got him up on The Dragon thursday. Here's a link to the proof. Personally I loved the way his SVX sounded. It's got a NASTY rasp to it's sound! http://www.photoreflect.com/pr3/OrderPage.aspx?pi=04RK00GZ000265&po=265&c= This page has Moodybluser, Huck369, Huckette, and Nick S. Note Huckette pushing Hucks Yellow SVX pretty hard. http://www.photoreflect.com/pr3/ThumbPage.aspx?e=3025973&g=00&s=150
  19. It woud seem that Austin's excellent luck on The Dragon is holding. So what's the story here? C'mon...DISH!!
  20. It COULD be a myriad of things. Your local Autozone will read the codes for free. Even if the CEL goes out the ECU will store the code. If I HAD to hazard a guess, I'd say a misfire set the code. I'm not sure how many times it has to miss to set a CEL, but if the miss goes away, so does the CEL.
  21. I honestly don't believe it's coming from the exhaust. I stopped to check it out , and the smoke definately seemed to be coming up off the cat/con. It also stunk to high heaven of gear oil, or grease. Also it's coming from the passenger side, and the exhaust is on the driver's side.
  22. My '97 Legacy makes the same noises. Yeah it's scary at first, but from everything I've read here & elsewhere, it's not really a huge concern. I gathered from my reading, that you only need to worry if it doesn't go away once the engine comes up to temp.
  23. This weekend, on the Dragon I experienced a strange problem. Just as the title suggests it's a large smoke cloud. I assumed it was a torn CV boot slinging grease only at high axle angles. The kind you get when pushing hard thru corners. On further examination I couldn't find a tear in the boot. What are the odds of a bad seal on the front diff leaking gear oil onto the cat, only in left-hand turns? Assuming I keep tabs on the gear oil in the diff, can I get away with this? Any other things in that area that can leak onto the cat I need to look into? Other than that, Kat absolutely performed flawlessly.
