94 loyale front axle trouble

Auto trans, yes Manual, not so much. The pin should be hollow. If you can use a small diameter punch to pop the other out from the far side. -
5 luggin' a fwd

I'm definately not gonna be autcrossing, but I do go to "The Dragon" on a regular basis. 318 turns in 11mi is a stress test for man and machine lol. If I can keep from it I'll just do the proportional valve for now. -

I'm assuming I'll need the master cyl as well, right? -

Ok, so barring the 5lug, how hard is it to swap rear disks to a fwd? While I'm at it I REALLY want the rear sway bar too. -

I put those axles in that car. They're O'Reilly's parts. I had to go back 3x to get axles that fit! I have till spring to decide about 5 luggin my gl. I work outside, and i won't have weather much longer -

Its looking more and more like i should just do a rear disk swap and a 6lug conversion. -
I've seen video of an electric supercharger. A high torque brushless motor turning the impeller of a turbocharger. These people are having positive results, when its not eating itself from imbalance and poor clearances. To play devils advocate, brushless electric motors that spin in excess of 11,500 rpm are considered low end in today's radio control market. Mind you these run at 11.4v with 4600mAh lipo batteries. Imagine that at 13.7 with a 60 amp reserve. Throttle it with a tps signal, and you're butter!!

front brake locks up on a 91 loyale
crazyhorse001 replied to littlemamma's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I would never replace a 20-30 year old rubber brake line with anything but new. I'll cheap out in a lot of places on a car, but NEVER on the brakes -

Sooooo long story short, i either need a fwd turbo, or xt6 trans to make my life easier. -

I know finding a fwd turbo trans is a looooongshot, so I'll do what i can with what i have. -

Looks like I'll be seeing my buddy with an ea junkyard i know the 6 is on oem axles. Not sure of the ones in the gl. Hopefully he can hook me up. That means from here on out, i'll be remanning my own axles -

I have some ej knuckles, would that make my axle search easier? -
Ok, so i'm in the process of making an xtgl/XT6 mashup. Both cars are fwd. I know i gotta Frankenstein the axles up front. Can i put the xt6 outer cv's on the fwd axles? As in pull the snap ring, and transfer the whole cv onto the axle shaft splines. Second, can i transfer the whole rear suspension subframe and all from the 6 to the gl? Or would it be better to just transfer the arms? Trying to gain the rear sway bar here. I know someone on here has to have done this at some time. Thanks in advance!

Is it a turbo, or an xt6? That will determinr the kind of maintenance it'll need. For $1000 you should be able to pick up one thats slightly rough, but running and driving. They are very good cars, and the powertrain is straight forward subaru stuff. Its an ea82 in an armani suit...well maybe not armani lol

My 2cents... 0420 code is a generic code set when the last o2 sensor sees a funky reading. The best thing you can do is, double check the connector, and condition of that sensor. If everything looks ok, and the light doesnt come back on, leave it be. On the other hand, if it DOES come back quickly, that bump may have jarred something loose inside the sensor. I reccomend anyone with a '95, or newer car buy a cheap code scanner. $69 is way cheaper than taking it to a mechanic, and will give you the first line of defense to keep your car running its best. You dont have to be mechanically inclined to use it. If you can plug in a lamp, you can use a scanner.

AC Fan, How does it work?
crazyhorse001 replied to beamsbox's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
To tie your fans together DO NOT just tie the 2 sets of hot wires together. You'll end up burning out the fan relay. Tie the trigger wires together on the relays. Its always better to do your modding on the low amp side of things. Less chance of letting the smoke out. -
6 lug redrill wheel/tire combos
crazyhorse001 replied to crazyhorse001's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I'm working on an XT, so i need more back space to get the whee/tire up into the rear wheel well. For the moment, i've bought new 185/60-13's to give me time to work out what i need to do. I kinda wanted to have bigger wheels, and performance rubber on it before the dragon meet in june. I can have our plant machinist lay out any lug pattern i like on my hubs. A 5lug swap is gonna be difficult as my XT is fwd, so im up against uber rare fwd XT6 parts.
