I need to get new radiator, I found this one on Rockauto for $112, its a Duel-Row all metal, but it has fittings for Trans cooling lines, so this is for an Auto? http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=272007 I need an MT radiator. Any other sites?

Wow, that thing looks great with those wheels

Good informational post, I might take you up on the SPFI stuff, I would have it laying around in my basement until the time came. Yes you are right, I want to get the body all buttoned up first, then worry about mechanical mods. As for driving stick, I drove Jon's '96 Brighton once, and picked it up ASAP. After that, I have only driven the '83 GL home, Driving stick comes very naturally, the motions feel normal to me (Oddly)

Fox, what Gear ratio did yours have? Mine has a 4spd with 3.900, which doesn't seem to have a short 1st gear at all. I shift it around 3000rpm with about 1/4 throttle to be easy on it, Its quicker then a 3AT EA82 with 27" tires  Although, I like the EA82. I've never had an issue with it.

Pictures are very much appreciated, that gives me a good idea on just where to cut and over lap, I'm not looking for a Million dollar job with this car, I main want to fix it nicely, and keep it from getting worse (Since I spend $1,200) on it lol. So yes, with some time, Rockguard, and body filler, it should come out nice. I love Rockguard!!! Fox, I am going to take the same amount as you did with the 3-Door and as I did with my Loyale (Loyale still needs a little work) I think the Ski car will give me a good chance to gain metal fab skills, as I did not want to "Learn" using my EA82. As for the EA81, yes, it is very solid. No ticking at all, and I don't think anyone ever adjusted the Rockers, but surprisingly its very quiet. I really can't wait for the weather to get warmer so I can really start getting into this thing.
-
Good info, thats BS about the rockers though. Just have to make them work.
-
Looks good, I was going to run LEDs in mine at one point.
-
Thanks! Yeah, I think I'm gonna wait till I get them. And for warmer weather lol. This car relit my fire for Subarus!
-
Also, what Carb is on this, and where can I get a rebuild kit and possible Jets?
-
Is there such a schematic that shows the Spot welds for body panels? Suppose I could wait till the new rockers arrive, and look at them for reference if there is any. I am also on the look out for some 14" or 15" Alloy pugs for this rig, it has 13" wagon wheels now, with newer Kelly tires, but I would like some Pugs, or ever perhaps some type of 14" Subaru wheel. Guess I need to focus on the important things first. What size is the Hard Fuel line?
-
I bought both Rocker sides, $81 + shipping (Whatever UPS runs) Now, if I can find the spot welds and drill them out, this should be kind easy (Never did this type of thing before) I may or may not buy the Rear wheel arches, I might be able to fix mine, they are intact for the most part, just rusted.
-
They offer Subaru Sedan/Wagon for '80-'94 which are the EA81 panels from what I've read by others. I will be ordering these in a bit. The good point of this car is, the underside and the doors are solid. The main rot are the Rockers. This car is really solid in the wheel wells which is a plus, and the interior is like mint.
-
I'm thinking of buying some tune up stuff either today or tomorrow, is there a brand to stick with for the Points? Also, is there one or two? I haven't really looked into any of it yet. I'm going with NGK Plugs/Wires, YEC Cap/Rotor, Full fluid change, Replace some vac lines, Air filter, Gonna rebuild the carb sometime (I think this might be the main cause of the spitting) I also need to replace a hard fuel line that rusted through lol. I need Brakes, I can't wait to get the wheels off and check things out. I would like to start dropping some of the suspension and such to address any rust and seal it up ect. Project! At least it does run and drive reliably
-
Fix the rust, get some Pugs, Possible lift. HIDs, LEDs, Full tune up, complete motor/driveline refresh. Try to keep it solid. I will need to buy those rocker replacement panels for it, anyone have a link to them? I thought J.C Whitney offered them?

Flip up mirror in glovebox? Duel Electric Fans?

The Awesome Older Generation Picture Thread

This bumper would look BA on an EA82! -
Haha yeah that F*cking bike rack LOL! It would be era correct. What is a Jerry's Kit Shifter? So far I like the 4spd. I can do 55mph at little over 2000rpm in 4th. Clutch needs replacing soon, if I put my foot down, it slips. Oh well. It needs brakes and I need to replace a hard fuel line that runs under the rear set through the body. (Like what you did to that XT6)
-
I took a few minutes and looked thru the glove box, WOW! I have the original receipt from when the Dealer installed A/C! Also a like new Owners manual, Some unopened packet of Subaru papers, Brand new Tow Straps, Some Handsfree Tire Inflator, Service Book, Book of Matches (Which I lit up all at once for fun) Subaru Tool pack, and somethings I am forgetting. The interior is VERY clean and undamaged, its almost at perfect as my Loyale. This car is f*cking cool as hell! Looks great in the driveway!
-
Awesomeness.
-
Thats cool, grab it and let me know what you want! I should be able to swap my cable/handle onto the new one. First I find the release handle, I have no clue where it is lol! EA81 body cars are to weird lol.
-
From what the guy told me, It was only for a Ski team. Some Foreign team did once own this car, and had the Decal applied. Someone might want to verify this as I am unsure about this type of thing. I forgot this thing has Points lol! Now I'm old school y0! Should I swap this thing to Weber? Or is the Hitachi good on the EA81s?

I am having the name of this thread changed to correlate with the car. So this will indeed be the Official thread.

Thats pretty awesome! There a few things I need for this car, Like Hood latch assy, The locking mech is crap, and the latch on the hood is missing. It had hood pins. But I'd like to fit it right. The car has Wagon wheels with nice Center caps. I will play with the car tomorrow, take a list of genuine parts I need and will PM you etc.. I'm feeling really good about this car, I'm excited as hell!
