  1. Fel-Pro gasket sets usually always have Genuine gaskets in them. Genuine Thermostat is always a good idea, they are build more solid and are the proper Temp Degree. The rest of the parts you can run aftermarket and you'll be fine. Ebay timing kit for example. Also I try to run Genuine Oil Filters, if not, then a WIX.
  2. Yeah, right. I'm sure the only ones still in existence are locked away in Fuji Heavy Industries attic. Plus, this would never fit in an SVX or any Subaru. an ER27 won't even fit in a Loyale without some radiator support fitting.
  3. The Motor in that Manatee is a Duel carb EA71. Subaru did on the other hand, make a Flat-12.
  4. Yes! That is where I've seen that before. Sabaroo, hope the valve job went well.
  5. That plug is indeed for the front O2 Sensor (There are two of them on that car) The miscellaneous part looks like some type of bushing, not sure for what though. All in all, what did you take apart? Just pulled the motor? -Tom
  6. Cleaned out the IAC and PCV system today, replaced the 3/4" hose that runs from the plastic PCV junction to the block. Original hose was hard as plastic and cracked. Now have Polyurethane hose in its place.
  7. Ya know, ever since this car got hit, I think it shifted the steering box a little (Besides making it jump a tooth or two) as my driverside Tie-rod boot rubs on the crossmember (Passenger side clears just fine) I also need to replace the inner rod on the pass. side, starting to get a little play in the ball.
  8. Wow, it does really work! Tired it on my Landcruiser Thank you!
  9. 0-60mph - 14sec. (Taking it easy after 2rd gear)
  10. Tire rotation and chassis inspection. 19mm nutz.
  11. I would say the dealer wants like $220 for one (Subarupartsforyou.com) has them for said price. Sound of the EJ22.
  12. If you pay close attention to the photo of the Black outback, they do exist and were indeed a factory option. I have seen them on multible Outbacks. They attach side roof molding "Rain gutter if you will" and they clear the windows by a fraction.
  13. Since I started this thread way after I did a lot of stuff to the car, here is what the rear quarters used to look like long before I even touched them. Here is when I was in the process of POR-15ing the entire underside (Which has been done for the past 3 years, Still looks great, rock solid. The Genuine Reman Starter. The Peugeots right after I got them from McBrat. After $300 of Power-coating. The 2" SJR. The Spare. New Radiator, Waterpump, Seals and ATF Cooling lines. (2009)
  14. Is it me? Or does the Hound dog look like a "Ballchinien" ?
  15. Yeah they are something else to find. I saw some dude on here took one and hacked it up to fix it on a 1st gen. Turned out really nice too! I want those rain guards on the side of the windows, anyone know where to find them?
  16. Rob, Can I ask what are those little stabilizers on the control arms for?
  17. Anyone ever had a poorly built EMPI? The one I bought to replace the driver side axle with is now starting to knock a little during turning/acceleration. I replaced the passenger side axle with an EMPI which is still nice. The two things I noticed about the 2nd axle I bought was, the Shaft was a smaller diameter, and the CVJ was very stiff (Like they put assy oil in it with no grease) Anybody else had this issue?
