At least I know I'm not alone. Will do, Trashwagon isn't going anyway, this thread is to huge to be "Removed" I guess an actual update would be, I am looking at getting '98-'99 Outback 2 piece Headlights (For the better reflector design) and then looking at getting a Duel Resonated Mid-pipe and possibly a muffler (Like the Impreza guys run) to finish it off. If I am correct, the Duel Resonated mid-pipe will increase rumble and depth (Make it more lumpy sounding?) I am also wondering if I am "Losing" power with not having a muffler on this, to little back pressure maybe? This is a fully stock exhaust with an UEL and no muffler, but instead a 12" 2.5 pipe in its place.

100% agree with JesZek, I was going to buy those bulbs before running HIDs.

They have turned yellow from rust, if they have condensation in them all the time, this creates rust, which makes the chrome reflector peel away and chip off. Theres no way to fix that other then finding better headlight buckets. You could try Silver paint (It might let the light bounce off it more) Best thing to do if you have a seal leak is to, remove the headlamp assy, take the bulb out and blow into the bulb retainer (Creating a seal with your mouth) and see where the seal is leaking, then apply some clear RTV over the area (Thats how I have fixed them in the past with no re-occurring issues) also, use a hair-dryer to remove/evaporate all the moisture. As for my Housings, they are bone stock (Except they are in mint condition, inside and out) I did not install a Projector.

Now, you could also spend $50, and 20min of your time on 6000K HIDs and end up with a result of this: Low-Beams
-
What does that have to do with anything? Mine was also a $500 car, and look what it has turned into. Being a $500 car does not justify doing a hack job or being unwilling to spend a little money, when in fact you could have your $500 Subaru for the rest of your life. Anyway, those Harbor freight lights work well. I have a set ontop of the Legacy, I like them alot!

The DL quad light swap is common enough, they are sealed beam glass units (Like you want) and the light output with the DL style is vastly improved. I think thats te way to go for cheep effectiveness. I have HIDs in my Loyale (They work awesome) others may say different.

*Cough* Plastic? Where could you haver ever gotten a GL or Loyale with Plastic headlights? They are all glass (Unless your talking about a Legacy)

With the Toyota, the Lights are always hot. So leaving them on is not an option. I never leave my lights on anyway (Why have more stuff run off the 12v during start up then needed?) But I have left then on while starting more then once, never had an issue with only on firing up, Sounds like a ballast issue to me. How are HIDs in winter? Does it take then longer to warm up and reach full brightness, or no? It takes about 10sec for mine to become fully bright. -
Nope, never had an issue with mine, but I know a fellow member with an '83 Brat had trouble. He called and got it worked out though

I must say though, Toyota did make a good headlamp design on the Landcruiser, it projects very well (Unlike the EA82s lol) With the HID low beams and the Standard High beams on, it lights up everything, both sides of the road (Well into the ditch) and elluminate very far and high down the road. Its like day light with all four on. Great for seeing Deer! -

Nope, the Low beams stay on all the time (Qaud-Beams baby!) So, this kit is "Supposedly" a bi-xenon kit. I know with both of the Subarus(Since High/low are in one bulb) the Bulb its self moves in and out via a relay when you use the Highbeams to reposition the lights beam. So if I have this understood correctly, one the higher end cars (With proper HID/projector set up) the High beam bulbs are always on, but are only uncovered (So to speak) when you flick the switch? -

Yeah, I was kinda wondering about that. Since the HIDs take time to warm up, the full brightness of the "Brights" wouldn't be instantaneous. But, what does Acura, BMW or Mercedes have? Since most of them run HIDs. Maybe I'll run Silverstar ultras for the Highbeams. -

35w 5000k HIDs (Low Beams) Will be putting in 55w 5000k HIDs for the High beams (4 bulb system) High-Power LED dome lights. -
I video a spent a night making. Enjoy. Watch it in 720p!

Yeah, I've heard of that. Amfam offers a "Storage" insurance, which I could take off the liability/comp and put the Storage policy on it so my rates won't jump. Might see about doing that. Shawn, Understood. Thank you. -
Ha, if only! I'll just drop some portal axles under the Legacy

I video I spent most of lastnight making. I cropped, cut and arranged all the clips along with the background audio. Let me know what you think!

This thread (The longest running thread in the new gen forum) will probably be "Closed" since there is now Off-topic posting going on in here on a subject that the Mods and Admin do not like. But whatever, this IS the Trashwagon thread, I will not step back into the crowd without having my views expressed.
-
That was not the case, the case was, the Mods removing positive posts in the (New T-shirt design thread) because they did not want feedback. I'm sorry, but, without feed back from your members, how do you know if you're making a shirt we are going to want? There were no bad comments posted or removed from that thread.
