  1. Re-packing front bears and adjusting Wheel end-play today.
  2. NGK BPR-6ES11s are stock for the EA82. As for leanness, it could be a worn Fuel pressure Regulator, Weak injector or a MAF issue, do you notice any bogging or delay when you get on the throttle?
  3. If the plugs and valves are white, is it somehow running to lean? To rich would give you blacked plugs, valves, piston tops. You said you are doing HGs (Internal or External gasket failure?) so wouldn't the Coolant cause a buildup of residue on them?
  4. I was looking at getting these a while ago, they seem nice, they don't need a lip to attach to which is nice. I've seen a few people on here go with them, they had good results from what I know.
  5. My Outback has 220,000 and still drives like a new car. That one sounds like it had Headgaskets done at some point "New heads"
  6. How about these? http://www.autobarn.net/pac52170.html?site=google_base http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=103414
  7. This is where taking the time to Inspect and Maintain your machinery is a key component. (As the same people who don't inspect their ATF cooling lines probably don't inspect their driveshaft yokes, which could also break and leave folks stranded on the dark trail)
  8. Here, this explains it somewhat. There is a better thread, but I can't find it ATM. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=120418&highlight=Duty-C
  9. Would look rather cool if you chopped out the fenders a little and stuck some 30s" under it! Have you had any issues with the 5-0 yet?
  10. These cars are everywhere, go to any junkyard and you will find a bakers dozen (13 or more) So what if one has gotten hacked up? Its not like hacking up a Brat or 3-Door which the West coast guys seem to do plenty of. Yeah, someday these cars will be in short supply, but for the time being, their safe.
  11. '92 Landcruiser Full-Time 4WD. '01 Ram 2500 and '08 FJ Cruiser.
  12. Those 4-Runner/Landcruiser wheels will look great on there! Hope to see more of this rig! -Tom
  13. Yeah, sorry to say, 4WD/AWD does not help if you don't know how to handle the vehicle to begin with.
  14. Very true and well said. Now if only is didn't cost $450/6mo to insure this thing I'd have it made. So now my total for insuring both Soobs and the Yoda will be about $1,000 every six months Going to need a 2nd job to pay back my parents, pay for this insurance and try to have money to live on Lol, life is grand.
  15. Maybe cause Toyota discovered that Automatics are just as good offroad as Manuals (Given you have the Torque) unlike an EA82
  16. WTF is with all the Negativity in this thread? I think it is fine whats been done to it.
  17. Yeah I like it for the most part, just is going to take me time to get it the way I want it. You have the Manual versions down there!? They are all Autos in the U.S that I've seen.
  18. The old girl is gonna be stored Winters I have come to decide (That, and I don't have more space for vehicles) 3 is now my limit Lol!!
  19. Jboy now has the U-haul hitch installed on his '96 Brighton along with the Drawbar and 2" ball. Enjoy! It has served me well.
  20. Finally adjusted the Rockers/pushrods Sunday, now its nice and quiet. Also has more power and runs better. I've been replacing all the vac lines I can on this thing as well. Jboymechanic and my Dad gave me a hand with the Lash adjustment, as its a two man job. Valve Cover Gasket (Victor Reins) Disty. All Adjusted and Valve cover back on. Split rear windows! Jon, the reason I bought a Toyota Vs. a Wrangler or Cherokee is I wanted a big Toyota with 3rd row seating, this was one of the most capable vehicles of the '90s and has been since they came out in the 50s. Solid front/rear axles, 3-link front, 5-link rear, front/rear LSDs, Center Diff Lock. Stick some 33x10.5 BFG KM2s on this rig and its set.
  21. Chances are the floorboard is now like swiss cheese (Or will be once you sit in it) Midwest/east coast is hard on these uni-bodies for sure. Doesn't look to have a hood, I wonder whats grown around the motor lol...
  22. That is probably 97% the reason. You can also run (V-Powers) in the EA82 as long as its the correct part number. Just make sure the shank on any spark plug (Top of the threads to the bottom of the electrode) matches the plugs you take out.
