  1. I really made progress today, I fixed the driver side frame corner and POR'ed it. And I also fixed the broken welded nut which holds the lower bolt on the hoodlatch support, So I was then able to put the valance on and get it all buttoned up. Only thing I have left to do would be, putting the fenders back on ansd buy 3 or 4 more stainless bolts/washers as I don't have enough. I also got a lot of footage today and some pictures. I will try to get more pics tomorrow. Cheers all!
  2. Here are some pictures. I have been slow at getting pictures up. And I am also gathering footage for another video. So stay tuned! New Valance All thanks to Marc and JoAnne up in Marshfeild! Mad props goes to you guys and I'm glad I met ya, JoAnne, your a blast! Made In Taiwan? Lol.
  3. Ah I see, I get the idea. Was mostly wondering how the bulb fit, which I can see in the pics. Thanks man Looks damn nice!
  4. Do you have a picture of the rear of the housing? I'd like to see how you rigged them up
  5. Last night I got my new valance thanks to Marc and JoAnne up in Marshfeild! JoAnne is a blast to talk to and has some interesting stories Hope you made the trip to Michigan with ease. Cheers!
  6. This photo was taken back when I was big into Cardomain.com and had never joined a Fourm before, the first Subaru board I joined was XT6.net
  7. Its awesome your also into Trance/Techno
  8. Huh, thats just plain werid, and thats my professional opinion At least its on and working now, A+ to that!
  9. Yes, welcome! Your on the best Subaru board on the internet thats for sure. Glad you saved a Subaru from a used lot, thats what I did to my Loyale (Which was my first car and still have it today) Any questions you may have, feel free to PM us or post up a thread. Cheers, -Tom
  10. Thanks for the break-down, those are good points. -Tom
  11. That does remind me, I think the marking goes outwards (Towards the engine) I remember reading in my Chilton some time ago, how that could effect fitment. Good call!
  12. The A/C never worked in either of my Subarus, so I pulled the units to make more space. I'm all for the Poor mans A/C Lol!

And nope, no GED, no nothing. I quick school at 2nd grade. (Yes that is true)

  13. As for the T-tops, just tap a black garbage bag over them :-p

  14. Yeah, well I'm sure they would take you over me, as I don't have a GED. But I'm good with cars (At least Subarus lol) and can fix Small engines like a madman, 3.5 to 20hp!

  15. Thats my problem, I would love to travel around the contry in a Subaru, but I have to go to work 5 days a week, I would love to be a little more free (Kinda like Easy Rider) but with Subarus. MilesFox used to be able to do all that back in the day. He still can and does.

I too trust my Subarus enough to do that, and I know about the Mic's not liking Subaru roar.

  16. Here, this video. it is a 2.5, but it is pretty much the exact same thing.
  17. All you have to do with the EJ engines is, Take the belt off, turn the crank until the timing mark on it is straight up, then turn both cams so their timing marks are straight up (There is a dot on each cam sprocket and there is also a dot on the crank gear (Not the pully) As long as you make sure everything is pointing straight up while putting the belt on, you will be good. And yes, the cam sprockets will turn pretty easy without the belt on them, so be careful. Let me find you that video.
  18. Yeah have the luxary of going to a junkyard and getting EA parts :o Not us Lol..

I have never heard an EA81, but have heard an EA71 one youtube. Sounds great, I love these old engines for sure.

And it would be great to meet ya in person, I would love to make a trip out to the West coast some day. Dunno if I'd want to drive all that way? Lol!

  19. I have a lot of Trance CDs If you like any of it, I can burn you a CD if you like
  20. I don't have a write-up, I could make one if I ever have a day where I think clear enough. A tip to you with getting the driver side on, is remove the lower tensioner (Its a sprocket) that will allow you enough slack to get the belt over the cam sprocket, that it like the only way to do it, even if you take the hydro tensioner out all the way, you still can't get the belt over the cam sprocket. I do have a video talking about what I have just said. I will post it in here for you. ALSO, use those Black binder clips to hold the belt on the cam pully, it will keep them from turning and keep the belt in place. Jon, A Runabout is what we call the EA82 coupe when its not an RX. Seems to fit.
  21. These tires are sure the way to go by all means! I can climb a snowband with 2WD and it just creeps up!

I know all about popping axles, the one on my EA82 does it now and then, to the point you can feel it. The Legacy is starting to as well. I'm gonna swap the EA82 axle with an EMPI that I have.

I sure would love to see you driving down the road, it would be awesome to see something that badass! Those EA81s are brutes :)

Ansd thanks for the comments, yeah I am trying my best to keep this car for the next 10 years or longer. :)

  22. I learned something new today, I thought they were basic wires with a coating on them. Thanks for pointing that out!
  23. Wow, I just dug up this old photo. This was taken Fall 2006, a few months after I got the car. Yes, I had a round face as a child :-p
