  1. Speaking of reading material, Does anyone know if you can down load the whole FSM pack for the EA82? Cause all I have is the first two parts on CD-R from Connie. I can't get over the price for the paper back ones! IIRC $135 bucks!
  2. Does the 4X4 Loyale wagon have the same thing as the 85 GL?
  3. Wow yeah, That's does look great! Alot of time and skill that's for sure.
  4. Very nice! Looks like MyKingCrab and you had some fun, I like the waterfall view too. You're Brat looks good there, And I like MKC's RX:headbang:
  5. Merry christmas man, I like the red EA82 wagon by the Blue T-wagon on top. Thank's Zap!
  6. Yeah i'm a 32" to 34" inseam too. Don't worry, I'm sure someone else will pop in soon! Good luck,
  7. What the..... That's cool! Nice find man, I wonder how it handles?
  8. Huh, Well you could cut out the floor pan on that side, That will give you more then enough lag room Lol... But seriously, You might be able to take out the four bolts that hold the seat/bracket and move the whole thing back and redrill and tap some new holes. That's just a idea. It's not a easy thing but it's an idea. You do have the seat back all the way right? And how tall are you? I'm about 5'11 or 6' tall. And my legs are pretty long and I'm pretty comfy:)
  9. Yeah you're both right, I should just get cracking on it. Thank's for the refreshing state of mind:) And yeah I'm going to do the Cam cap seals/O-rings too, Along with the new Oil pump. If the water pump go's sometime then I'll worry about it. Sorry to hear about Brumhilda, It's always sad when a Subaru is takin off the road due to salt.
  10. Naw I have my own tools Haha! But I have to move some crap out of the garage and such, Yeah I know I can do it all my self. Tons of people do. And being a woman is no diffrent them a man. As long as you know what you're doing that's all the matters. Pretty soon I might just do it my self thow if he keeps this mentality. So you don't need to pull the rad hey, I prolly will anywayz. More room is always good. Thank's Heartless. As for the belt breaking at 15,000 yeah it can be the belt being saturated with oil and it can also just be a defect. Not every part that leaves the factory is perfect. Errr! So i can just be anything ya know. Hope you have better luck with the other new belts:headbang:
  11. Yeah I would like to meet Subaru people around here and such, I can start driving by my self in like Feb/March thow:banana: I know you're willing to help and I'd love it. But My dad doesn't want to bother he says "Oh well we'll get it done our selfs" and bla.. bla.. bla... And then it doesn't happen, I know it's pretty easy and I've got it all in my head and I even have step-by-step print outs that you made. So I know I can do it, I mean all I want is to have my dad help with this one thing and it never happens. He came from a Family that used to rebuild vehicles, Motor, Trannys, and put a new short block in his first car (72 Dodge dart swinger with slant 6) But now he's just tired and never wants to do anything. I'm not trying to complan or anything, I'm just telling y'al where I'm standing. BTW what do you drive around the most? And do you ever come into Waukesha city? or do you just stay in the suburbs. Alright now lets get back on topic shell we.
  12. Yeah I guess GD is right, So what is you have to do them every 40,000 but I would be quicker with out the covers. I might run open sometime. Thank's for the clarification on it all. -Tom
  13. Try http://www.Rockauto.com I think ther like $30 each. Good luck!
  14. Yeah but even with the covers off, Don't you still have to remove the Rad? Seems like it would be in the way. Maybe not? And just wondering what about salt? Won't that break down the belt sooner too? Just some thoughts I'm having.
  15. Yeah I shoud have bought a OEM one fromthe dealer, But I didn't know that then. I'll change it soon. As for the belts and such, Yeah I have everything I need. No I don't have a Water pump but if it go's then I'll worry about it. I'm looking forward to doing the Oil pump and T-belts, But dad doesn't. I think its his pills for Cholesterol and BP (Both have Side affects for feeling Tired) I'm going to run covers, Cause I was thinking about the same thing. And What about salty road water spraying in there (Rust) But it's a good idea thow.. Thank's all
  16. I don't drive it much cause I don't have no where to really go, I would just take it out and drive around but I can't drive alone yet and mom doesn't want to just go for a ride that offen. As for Ideling, I don't just let it idel, I'll hold it at 2000 rpm or so for a few seconds and rev it a little. Just so it gets hot and it runs for 20min or more, But the one thing I noticed was even when I drive it it takes a little bit to get heat (About 15min) Maybe cause I have a Autozone thrmo in it? I like driving my car ya know.
  17. So you they were most likely replaced once, Good that takes a little off my mind. As for finding anything out about when and where stuff was replaced IDK? I don't really know anything about the car. The owners stoped taking it to it's ragular Maintenance at the Subaru dealer in like 1996. And that's all that Maintenance book shows that came with that car. And I bought it from a really bad used lot. I would do the Timing belts, New Oil pump and seals, Cam cap O-ring's and seals but I can't get my dad motovatied to help me with it:rolleyes: So I guess when a belt go's and I can't drive anywhere then it wil get thru his head. (I just needed to fume) Sorry, I don't want to steal a thread. But thank's for the peice of mine about the belts. Yeah I kinda figured if the drivers side went it would stall. Like you said "The Disty an't spinning and no spark" Thank's again!
  18. Yeah any kinda Oil, Brake fluid ect.. Will break down the propertys of rubber and it will eventually snap:( A question I have is: What happens if you're driving along and the belt that powers the Oil pump (passenger side IIRC) snaps? Will the vehicle stall before any damage is done? And how likely is a belt(s) with 100,000 on it to break under normal driving (shift's 2700-3200rpm) And the car doesn't get drivin around alot. It Just get's started to charge the batt and get the moister out. Just wondering.
  19. When you replaced the Thermo did you get all the air bubbles out of you're system? And did you add more Water/coolant to make sure it's full? But I'm still just guessing its something blocking you're core, Give her a good flushing with water and see what happens.
  20. Whom are you talking to? Me or Bush?
  21. A OEM thermo, Maybe that's why when I'm driving I never get really hot like in other vehicles? And My temp go's to about half after like 10 minutes of driving and then drops to a little below half and stays there. Do you think thats because I bought a Thermostat from Autozone? I'm not trying to hijack a thread, But it justy came to mind. Thank's! BTW yeah I would see about a heater core Flush anyways, Good luck! -Tom
  22. Well fisst off he's wrong it's not a 89 Loyale, It's a 89 GL. It looks clean one little rust spot is a easy fix, And the Timing belts have been done in 93 at 34K? Why? So I would check/replace those sometime. And she sounds like she never drives on the highway so it's got to have carbon build-up. Other then that it sounds fine. But $2000:eek: Iwould see about gettng him a little lower. $1100-1500 sounds better, Basicly go there see it, feel it, try everything, and good luck. That's all I can say. I'm sure someone else with more ideas will pop up! Later.
