Well yeah if you can find one i the J-yard that doesnt leak that's great! And there's no way to mess up anything takeing it out and putting it back in! I just did it today again because i bought a brand new one and it get's moister in it! So i had to seal it with some clear RTV stuff. Hope it works this time! Anyway i think he can do it! It will only take a few minutes if you have a 10mm ratchet wrench! But if your stuck with a regular 10mm wrench it will take about 20min. Best of advice: Go buy your self a 10mm ratchet wrench! It will save you sooo much time. -

Yeah you CAN'T get a new light assembly for $35.. You can buy new bulbs for about $20's $30's. But the light assembly is about $240 from the dealer. Now if you go to Rockauto.com it will only cost $100 and something.. And about any other questions, Don't be afride to ask! There's no dumb questions in the auto or Subaru world:) -

TheLoyale replied to TheLoyale's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Yeah ok! I'm not to worryed about it. I did take apart the rear wiper motor! Because the arm got about hafe way and then it stoped. So i packed it with grease and now it work's like pro! Yeah someday i will look at it! I kinda figure'd it was a sensor or relay. Thanx:) -

Ok so you have Halogan! Just like my Loyale! Well then you don't need to buy a new light assembly! Just take off the 4 nuts that hold the light in. Which are right there. You can't miss them. Then once you took those off the light should pull out! But you will need to take your corner light out too! That's really easy. There's one scrwe on top that is conected to the headlight. The there's one more on the outside but the amber light part. So after you take that off. And you took the 4 nuts off the light assembly then it should just come out! Please make sure you unplug the bulb before you try to take the light out! Then after the light is out there should be 2 clips, One on each side of the light. Just pop those off and then you will need to take a plane scrwe driver and pop the glass off the metel housing. It will be a little stiff but just keep going. Once you have the glass lens off wipe it out and what ever you want. then take some clear cylocone or clear Winshild glue and apply that to the seal on the glass part then push the lens back onto the metel housing and make sure it's really nice and tight. Let it sit in the sun for a few. the reinstall it. And it should not let or get moister in it. I did that to mine and it really worked great! But if you just want a new one. Go to http://www.Rockauto.com And it will be alot cheeper the the dealer! It will be under extirior parts. And if they don't have it listed for the GL-10 then just go to the Loyale area and it will be the same! Hope i helped you, Tom.............. -
Yeah your right, 9 times out of 10 it's always a wagon!

Just a stupid post, but that DL look's like it really needs love! Those are some icky tires! Hahahahahahahahaahaha! And it's missing a mirror! Sorry for the dumb post. I just had to say that:lol: -
I've just noticed that if i put my wipers on the delayed mode (First click down). That my wipers tick up like a clock!? it's really strange! Like they just start ticking up like a second hand on a clock! Is it a relay issue?? Or what?? Please help! PS: My wipers work fine on the other modes!

Well in the first photo you can clearly see it's a Loyale, DL, GL vehicle because of the corner light! Plus i can tell a EA82 vehicle from just a glimpce..

Well since there sealed beam. Then i would just go buy a new one! Because how old are they, Plus it's just like a light bulb. Some time soon it will blow out. As for just fixing it. IDK? I would have to see a pic of the glass and metel housing. So i can get an idea. -
What? If that's bad i'm sorry. I was just trying to reply to Connie's message. I'm not trying to steel this thread. Sorry
-
Yeah you can't tell it's a T wagon by the first photo! And not all EA82 wagon's have that little metel strip on the bumpers and side moldings! A Loyale does not have those. But i made a mistake.

86 Stock GL 4X4 Wagon - Original Owner
TheLoyale replied to Subarule's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Wow you had it since 86! Anyhoo no replaceing parts is fine. It's still stock! But if you droped a EJ20 in it (90's Legacy motor) Then it would be un-stock. And if you put a after market exhaust or anything then it's not stock! So i'm glade you want to keep your GL forever! Hope you can! Tom........ -
Yeah i know! I was really hooked on Yakima load worrior before i saw thins one! Yakima want's like $399 for the rack and then i would have to buy 2 posts for around $219 so it would have come to $520 or so! Plus i think this one fit's the car style better. Look's more Safari/Aussie outback look! Ya know!

Yeah i kinda remeber reading about the EA71 and the Roo's they were in. Yeah i think they were 1600cc and IIRC they were in the JDM 70's GL and the Subaru 1600! Thanks for the refresher!
-
Are you sure it's not a DL wagon? I'm looking at the metel strip on the bumper. But the GL did have that too! So IDK!
-
No don't worry your not stomping any toes! Yeah just like she said. The Brakes will be sezed, You figure even if it's in a garage you still get moister and then that tures to rust. And all seals will be crap! So it'll be some work! So what is a EA71? What vehicle is that?
