Thanks for posting about your car! Sounds like its still pretty intact and very able to be saved. You seem to have a pretty good picture of how to address the rusted areas. If you do have access to a welder (Just a plain old wirefeed arc welder) that would also make things easier. But rivets and sheet metal is a good way to fix small areas. You will want to find some 18ga metal sheets, Standard weldable steel, or even stainless, which will be a little more costly, but won't rust again in that area Fiberglass sheets and resin are a good way to seal it all up, but the Fiberglass won't last long if its only adhering to a smooth surface (Like a Fender or else where on the body) for the wheel wells it would work great because they are rough and the fiberglass has something to bite into. A good piece of advice is to cut out any of the rust, as it will only come back if you wire-wheel it and then treat it with a rust transformer (I found out the hard way) As for color matched paint, there should be a silver sticker tag on the driverside strut tower (Under the hood) or on the front of the radiator support where the hood latch is. It will have a Paint code number. If you take that paint number to any Auto paint supply shop, they can match it perfectly. Some can mix it into Areosol cans for easy use on touch-ups. I am thinking your paint number is either 955 - Bermuda Blue Met. 280 - Ice Blue Met. I am pretty sure I know the light blue you are talking about, I actually like that color. Also, you are welcome to ask any questions you might have, here. Cheers Jason, -Tom

I hear you on time, if I didn't have so much of it and at least minimum cash flow, I wouldn't have taken on this car. Probably still have the Legacy in all its TW glory. If ya want a hand with the Rockers when I'm down there, no sweat. We'll get it done. Only takes a few hours to cut off the old, and new, and then line'em up and spot them in a few places. The EA82 rockers I have would be interesting to try and use, 1982gl4 did it though, just is more tedious (Titties and rump roast)

Indeed, 80s 4-Runner had these as well, but are rare, much like the Tercel one. Which is why they are $150+ on ebay. I got this one for a great deal though. If you want to blow $250, find the JDM overhead unit for an FJ80, this has Altimeter in it and compass iirc! Again, another rear item that costs. Also, 80s Mitsubishi Pajero/Dodge Raider has an Inclinometer with Clock. But is a POS, the plastic gimbles shatter because its 25yr old plastic. The Toyota unit is much nicer, liquid filled I think, very smooth.

Sounds interesting Cheers! -Tom

FatMat! And I still have a ton!

Yep I forgot to mention that you will need something else for the rear struts. Perhaps RX rear struts would lower it. Cheers!

EA82 6lug swap? Or re-drill 6lug rims to fit 4lug hubs?
TheLoyale replied to Prwa101's topic in Subaru Retrofitting
Prices are listed on the site, if you look at each wheel individually. -
Might want to check around, any EJ (Impreza strut setup will work on that car) Stock WRX struts might lower it a little.
-
Thats looking good! I like those wheels on there, very fitting.

This sounds right. No re-torque, and you can used the original bolts, they are not stretch bolts like the EJ motors.

I can't even see the timing window on the side, I haven't adjusted my timing by light either. Just by ear.. Only problem I have is, my disty is fully retarded and I get ping now and then. Why its at fully retarded escapes me, I dunno if someone put the disty back in, a tooth off or what? The 3F-E is a slow revving motor, so these aren't the quickest off the line, shifting around 2500-3000rpm at most, with moderate acceleration. I was told not to rev these motors to hard, as they are an OHV Pushrod motor, but then again, so is the EA81. So I don't get it? Why wouldn't this motor handle higher RPMs well? Pushrod V8s can take higher rpms. Anyway, these do ride nice, and ride even better with new heavier duty suspension. It will be firm and bouncy, but smooth I like driving the FJ80 a little more then the Subaru, but the MPG kinda sucks, if you know what I mean...! -
Perhaps I can pick it up today as well. Then I can get the interior back in this weekend.

Someone got lazy apparently lol. Did you also adjust them while the motor was pretty hot? I guess that is the correct way to do it, I burnt my hands enough when I did mine lol. 2 people makes it go easier though (Thanks dad!) That thing looks better already! It is coming along nicely man. Needs something to break up all the white, wow! A black molding, mirrors or something lol. You can make a thread if you'd like, you are also welcome to post updates here as well. I guess this is the Landcruiser thread -
Never happens to me, but then again, I have SPFI. Try replacing the PCV. Also, does an Oil Catch can remedy this?

I know there was talk of what you can use in place of the Cybrid steering fluid, as it is costly. Do you know what is wrong with the unit? Nice score though! The main point is, looks rust free! ER27 FTW! You can really feel those 135hp with the 5spd.

That is 100% what I try to do as well, I don't have any photoshop programs, and my Fuji S5700 camera doesn't hold a lot for settings other then Full Manual mode (Shutter speed, Aperture, and something else) I try to take the clearest images I can, with the most depth and color, reflection, and what I am seeing to project the right emotion. I've gotten better over the years for what I am working with. Now, not to make this a Photo class thread That sucks about the Tire, What tires are they? Discount tire might have them and for cheap if you want two replacements. Or keep an eye on craigslist for 4 matching tires.

The bumper fairing gave it away that its an M3 The LS are nice cars, Probably the only Lincoln of that year I would buy. Some of the new ones are cool too. Smooth power. And that picture is awesome! I love Photography, angles, lighting, ect.
