  1. So its a waste of money for making a header. Guess I'll buy pre-bent sections for the down pipes.
  2. That blows. Could have the decency to reply and say its sold.
  3. Question, why type of tire are you looking to run on your wheels? Street tires or some type of Mudder/All-Terrain tire? If you are gonna run AT tires, I would get a 15x6 or 15x7 wheel and then get a tire that is slightly wider (Exp, 27x8.5x14)
  4. Well, those Toyota Alloys are 15x7 and use almost an identical backspace as the Subaru wheels. I don't know what clearance is like with the 15x7 or how much clearance there is with those wheels. The 15x8s that you are looking at, might be cutting it close with stock backspacing, but I am not positive. What you could do, is take a tape measure and measure the distance from the strut body to the inner sidewall of the tire which you have on your car right now, then just add aprox 3" to that number, and see what type of clearance issues you might have. Best info I can give at the moment.
  5. Is it just me, or is lining the doors back up on this car a PITA? I swapped doors on my Legacy once and it was easy, I also swapped doors on another '96 Legacy, easy. This car, not so easy... Perhaps I need more booze to do this right.
  6. I don't think I would ever want to replace a rocker panel again lol... Although, it was a little fun, I like cutting and welding stuff!
  7. finished up the front rocker corner (Where it meets the wheel well structure. Look great, I am really surprised how well this is turning out, I am also smoothing the seam welds and will be applying Bondo possibly today (If I still have the good stuff I got from NCS)
  8. Ah, it ended with the '86 EA82s, '87 did not have that option if I recall right.
  9. Lol! Well. They junk cars that are 10 times cleaner then what I'm trying to save. Outstanding isn't it? I can't get over how many clean running Subarus they junk out west because it has a rust hole in the door about the size of a golf ball...
  10. The great state of Washington, they seem to have everything....
  11. Just don't nick the gas charged damper! Why Subaru stopped with the adjustable front struts is beyond me, the last model I know that had them was an '85 GL 4WD (EA82) They should have put them in the Loyale as well!!
  12. When something like this is on Backorder, it means it is Discontinued. The same thing for the Fuel Tank. Might have to make my own adjustable perches! :-p
  13. Obviously this one is not real, kinda reminds me of an Isuzu Piazza
  14. I think the '78 Wagon will be the most hard to find Although, it would probably be the cheapest on the list!
  15. Now here is a good question. For those of you who have bought and replaced the front struts on their GL with Adjustable spring perches, where do you find such a replacement? or are you stuck with a standard strut with no adjustments? I was thinking about this the other day as I'm looking to replace the rear dampers, and was thinking what I'm gonna do about the fronts...
  16. Why not have two Cool Subies? Hell, I have 3 vehicles. No crime in that
  17. From running Outback struts to Impreza Tokicos, not to mention any 5x100 wheel on the market, the 5-lug swap is worth it if you can come up with the Parts. THe XT6 hubs are kinda like gold to the Aussies since they never had the XT6 (Although they did get the Vortex) but in limited numbers.
  18. Yeah, we got luck today! The sun came out about 5pm, the light shined down upon me, and I said "YES! YES! Jesus H Tap Dancing Christ, I am going to finish this rocker today!" I then did a backflip into the garage and grabbed my Auto darkening Welding Hemet and got cracking!
  19. Dieseling or Engine run-on is a condition that can occur in spark plug, gasoline powered engines, whereby the engine keeps running for a short period after being turned off, due to fuel igniting without a spark. "Clark, why is it still running?" "Oh, honey, all new cars do that!" "Think you hate it now, wait till you drive it!" That solenoid eliminates this occurrence.
  20. Some pics from today: Rocker I got from Washington after I cut out the section I needed: The Section I needed: Cut right below where the door seal seats, all the way down to the pinch weld at the bottom. Cut off old rocker. New rocker section welded in place, there will be no seam sealer used. I have welded a solid bead all the way along the cut line. Flush with the doors.
  21. You can run Impreza struts and driveline then. The XT6 knuckles are what the EJs were based on and well worth it!
  22. You are talking to a guy who drives a 10mpg Landcruiser. Fuel mileage is not one of my concerns
  23. Now that you've said that, this reminds me of when I replaced mine some years ago. I remember I had a hard time finding the 110mm pump (That was then) so I went to the dealer and got the correct one. I honestly forgot about the 105mm and 110mm.
  24. I had this idea a few weeks ago, and had pondered all of what I would need and then cost of having the stuff shipped ect. I can get a Sh*tachi rebuild kit for $70! So I'll probably pass at this time, I would just then swap on a 32/36 DGEV. I got the Thermostat and gasket from Subaru city today, along with new hoses and clamps. I can now re-install the new radiator and all the fixins'. I also welded in the Passenger side rocker today. It its great, flush with the door and looks sooo f*cking great! I still need to finish welding it in and then blend the welds so they won't be seen. I will take some pics after that. No more games, I need to get this done.
