To pull really any Subaru motor, Remove the radiator to gain more space in front of the motor, Unbolt the bellhousing, remove starter, disconnect Heater core hoses, power steering lines, Pitch stopper bar, the few electrical connectors (O2 sensor, Alternator wiring, the main engine wiring harness, Clutch cable, HVAC hose/diaphragm, and both motors mounts. That should be pretty much everything, possibly a few obvious extras, taking anything else out of the engine bay is a waste of time and possibly confusion for reinstall. Subarus are super easy, the EA82 is a very good motor/chassis to learn on. I did way back in 2006. Good luck with the swap.

EA81 Rear Fuel Line Routing (Need pics)
TheLoyale replied to TheLoyale's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Whoops. The tank is from a 1983 4WD wagon (100% the Same as mine) So all the fittings are the same. I know about the two 1/4" lines on the right side of the tank that run to the Canister, I need to replace one of the soft lines that run off it, as I cut the old one. I can get some pics, I need to drop the tank again as I forgot to attach the overflow hose to the top of the tank (Whoops lol) -

I like the widebody retrofit. Front looks like bits from a WRX fender. Some of the lines are kinda hard, mainly the blending of the rear flares with the body, but theres something about it I like. I do think the Silver wheels work with it, the White O.Z wheels are cool too. This car could have really been something, its too bad the person doesn't have a real eye for detail (Interior for instance) and the Scoop. But to each their own, it does have some work put into it! -
Do RX springs have a stiffer rate or more coils then other 4WD EA82 springs?

Anymore updates on the Sephia? I liked the Audio install, Sony and Pioneer are always the brands I choose. -

So what is up next for Michelle? -
Indeed, ebay has everything. I just bought one! The 18" version is what you'll want to match the photo. http://www.ebay.com/itm/320874574639?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_3695wt_821

Maybe its only a 2WD Sedan, there for the Fuel tank does not compensate for the rear diff.

Double Swing outs and Steel bumper.
-
Good to know, I plan on adding some weight to the rear of this wagon once I make my own Steel bumper w/ Swing outs. So a stiffer shock shouldn't hurt for the mean time. GR-2s are great! I had them with Forester springs on my Legacy, it handled like a flippin' track car!

I am also going to install KYB Gas-A-Just in the rear. Anyone else running these Dampers? Pros/Cons? Like/Don't like? Let me have it

Nice jumper wire!

Indeed. The help ones where a little big and would not clip into the hole and press flush, but I ground them down and it fit perfect and worked. Headlights are not reassembled. I also got the fuel tank up today, I used Stainless bolts, washers and lock washers. Thread pitch is 1.25. I need to route some lines, and add the overflow line, I forgot to put it on. So the tank must come down a little. I also need to remove the filler neck, clean it up and then reinstall with stainless. New bent lines: Bought a new bender at Harbor Freight, this one is pretty nice and easy to use. $5. 2nd headlight assembled. Oh look! I got the rockers today... This car might be running before the weekend.

Looking for an EA81....for Fiat 500 swap..
TheLoyale replied to goodm3's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
David, very cool! I've seen people put Subaru EA81s and EJ22s in old Beatles, but never in a 500! That thing will cook. Make sure when you are ready to do the swap, to make a thread somewhere, I'd like to see the build! As for differences in engine, '81-'83 EA81 will have Solid Lifters, the 1984 EA81 Automatics had Hydro lifters, the Manual trans cars didn't get hydro lifters till 1985. Cheers, -Tom -

Ah, I didn't think of boat grab bars! That might work. Lol, even the Push bar isn't going to stop much, these cars aren't made to take a hit. The little chrome bar would only be for looks Plus I don't plan on hitting anything or one. I do like that skid plate as well, and the Factory Fogs (Which I found a set on Ebay) but they are in Jpn. Are those also Blinker indicators on top of the fenders!? Also has Headlight washers? I want this Saloon!

Tom, good man. Will do. I will also check out the Help section. Cheers! PS: I got the Rockers today! Very complete wow.

I ran across this picture of a JDM Sedan, and noticed it has a little accent bar on top of the bumper. Does anyone have one of these? I bet its a super rare JDM part, but figured I would post it up and see what I get.

Indeed. There doesn't seem to be much for old Subaru parts on the Ebay.jp? WTF. Plus, I can't ready half of anything lol.. Maybe I'll try ebay.au -
Went out in the garage tonight and started bending up some new Fuel lines, turned out pretty good (Using an old school bender, not one of the fancy new ones) Hopefully I'll remember where which ones go where, One line seems to have a check valve on it or something. I'll take some pictures tomorrow.
