I found it during Google image search for GL or L-series or something. It wasn't any of the posted pictures though. It was some other shot (Front view)

Well, I have a doner vehicle for such a build. I'll put the Ski wagon on the chopping block We are also going to need Long travel trophy truck coil overs, and front control arms from a H1 Hummer. OR we can do Portal axles from a Unimog with a ratio of 5:33. Perhaps drop in a Diesel Flat-4 for more tugging power, 6spd gear box with D/R, a 3:1 Gear reduction unit, 35x12" tires, 8-lug steelies, On-board air tank/compressor, UV-Lights, 12,000lbs winch, ARB Rooftop tent.

Supercharger and Pig Sh*t?

Indeed, Bigger bumpers and some Flame-throwers out the headlights and a 50 Cal out the grill. Possible Mini-gun option on each mirror. And a Grappling hook for a winch!

Interesting find, I've seen a picture of this car before on Google. Do we need a shovel for Zombie outbreak though? I think an antidote would be of more use

Not exactly a "tech" question, but.......

Why don't you tell him to come here, and we'll tell this dude a thing or two about his pricing and what he should expect I say $1,350 with tax and Reg. -

Yes, this is the way to get the price you want. Most people will not/cannot turn down a fist full'o bills. -

Do not wax that fresh top coat, wait a week or so, so the paint sets up. Wax has corrosives in it which remove grim and oxidization, this is gonna harm fresh paint. Anyway, that looks really good. I don't see any runs or fisheyes. The clear really helped it as well. -

Eww, why? I like a tire with nice sharp square lines. Stretched sideways give me the hebbie jebbies.. -
I've never found swapping axles hard, either removing or installing. Turn, Push/Pull and Wiggle and it always pops in thru the bearing. (Rear axles on the other hand is a different story) Kinda a neat tool though, its like a "Blind Hole Puller" never knew it existed, but comes in handy!

Disreguard that part in my last post, I forgot you are going to run an EJ motor, so if you ran an EJ trans you wouldn't need the adaptor plate (Doh) But like you said, you would still need it for the EA trans to the EJ engine. So alls good

As you can see here, the wheel bead is sunken into the tire more, so there is more rubber sidewall to protect the rim from rocks ect. Also like this, the wheel is a 15x7 but it is a 10.5" wide tire. You can also run a 12" wide on the same 15x7 wheel. -

If you put a skinny tire on a wider wheel, it willl bow or pull out the sides, a tire shop will not mount a tire that is to much narrower then the rim, as it is a lot of stress on the bead. You can mount a wider tire on a less wide rim, it will protect the bead lip more if offroading (I see this all the time on offroaders) -
Finally! Back in a Subaru.

I would like to see that! I wonder how well that will fit the roof. -
I'm not sure about the starter placement on the newer trans, I know on my '95 4EAT is was still in the same spot as an EA82. If you go with an EJ trans, you will need a $200 adaptor plate (or possibly make your own) it has to be the correct thickness as well (1/4" or 3/8" IIRC?) Also, clutch kit is more costly for the EJ trans. WRX might have a Hydro assist, I know the first gen Turbo Legacy does. As for logical, it all depends what you'd like to spend. The 5spd D/R is probably cheaper and you have tabs on one, right? So the hunt is already taken care of. I personally would use the 5spd D/R. Anybody else?
-
The 5spd D/R will hold up just fine, just don't be dumping the clutch and such, its not a race car. The 4spd D/R out of an EA81 could handle the power/torque, but then someone started getting careless and started dumping the clutch and doing burn outs (Blew that gearbox up pretty good) 5spd D/R is the way to go. a STi 6spd will very costly. 5spd Legacy, and then you need to figured out the AWD bs.

Ah, I understand that now. Finally got that cleared up after 2yrs! Good posts, thank you. -
If you were to go the XT6 route, your currant axles should work if I remember (As the XT6 is an EA82 chassis and motor with 2 extra cylinders) And I'm pretty sure the spline count is the same (23) I don't think it is (25) either way, even if thats the case, you can swap CVJ and or DOJ cups around to make it work. I agree, the 6 lug is a lot quicker and easier, plus cheaper. I know the XT6 swap stuff is costly, its like gold so I've been told Haha.

Ah, I get what your asking. I don't really have an answer for that. I guess if I were looking at wheels, I'd look at the lug seat/surface and how the spoke would interfere if at all. Somebody else will chime in. -
Yes, 14" Puegoet wheels. If you get all the goodies, Splindles, knuckles struts ect. you could swap in XT6 5 lug on your car, it would be all bolt on and then you could run whatever 5x100 wheel you wanted. Pretty much all 5lug Subaru wheels would work (Except for the 5x114.3 found on STi) Theres an idea
-
They are similar in cost, finding them in 14" was hard at the time, but I guess they brought back the BFG AT in a 195/75/14? or something. But if you are going bigger then 14" rims, it'll be easier to get an offroad tire. I think BFG makes the KM2 in a small enough 15" size, I've seen it on someones wagon. I run KM2s on my 80-series Landcruiser, awesome tire in every condition!

13" diameter wheel (Stock size) 13" wide wheels! OMG.... That would be nuts on a Subaru haha. -

You can stick MPFI onto the EA82 easier, given you have the intake and the ECU and some wiring. EA81 might have more options since its popular with the Aeronautical world.
