The Boomerang (Mountain Grizzly) Returns....
I am going to bump this thread, because this car is awesome! Mick, I want to go with a stance like this on the Ski wagon. Are those Chevy 6 lugs btw?

What Have You Done to your Soobie lately? (Please post in here and keep it going)
It could just be turned, as the coils are still at the same spiral pitch as the others. But it does look funky.

Unusual 4x140 Wheel?
They would not be Peugeot wheels. As they are stamped with "Fab France" This is the wheel company at hand, these wheels are 4x108mm but KN Engineering is indeed a wheel manufacture.

I was thinking about it, possibly later this summer.

Interesting.

Loyales
Better Color code chart. Some of the others are incorrect. They also do not list a 1983 Porcelain white. Here is the one from Subarusofthe80s. http://www.indysworld.com/80s/general/paintchips/paintchips.html

Keep taking stuff off of my '83 GL. When do I start putting it back together?

My '83 GL: The Ski Wagon
I was indeed thinking about removing it, just wasn't sure what it was. I might see about this tomorrow if it doesn't rain. Also, can I eliminate all this Charcoal canister stuff without throwing an engine code? I want to clean up as many un-needed vac lines as possible.

WTF is this thing? Some type of vapor recalculation unit?

My '83 GL: The Ski Wagon
SO, I took out the Dealer installed CC today (Cause I seriously do not want it lol) I think I removed everything, correct? Please let me know if these pictures show everything for the dealer cruise control. Also, I am planning on selling the complete assy if somebody wants it, PM me if so. The only piece I do not have is the switch which the Clutch peddle presses, it was plastic and had been broke at some point. Everything else is there and functional Is this also part of the cruise assy? It is clipped into the same dash harness. This wire used to connect to the cruise harness, it runs up into the steering column. Do I need to remove this as well? And this? Let me know if there is anything else I need to remove for a complete cruise assy.

What is a Zip code up by you? I'm gonna do a quick quote for shiz and gigz. Mines 53186. Edit: a Parcel Post from 99506 to 53186 with a 15x10x15 26lbs box is about $30. So lets say $60 total for 4 alloy rims. Not to bad if that is ballpark.

Now if you ever get the car moving, you'll be able to stop it!

Indeed, shipping is always the killer. AUS has all the cool parts, but no one wants to ship anything (And for good reason) haha

My '83 GL: The Ski Wagon
Ah, good to know. This reminds me, do the 1974 Mags fit over EA82 brakes? Which I guess doesn't matter, I'm not planning on running larger brakes on the front.

Crazy revving on startup
'94. 1995 got the OBD-II Duel Port EJ22 (First year) which is the motor to have really, OBD-II and Duel port! '96 would be single port. So you want '89-'94 for an IAC Also, yes the IACs look the same between OBD-I and II, and will bolt up. But the resistance is different as mine did not respond correctly.

Crazy revving on startup
You can get a good one from Al's for about $30 or less, I replaced mine when I had the car. You will need one from an OBD-I motor instead of OBD-II as they are different (I learned the hard way)

That sounds like a good deal! Thank you. Anyway, now I am weighing the option of coming onto a EA82 rear disc set, to swap onto my Loyale, so I can then swap the larger rear drums onto my GL. Since one of the brake lines just started dripping today sitting in the driveway LOL! I would need to replace the lines, Wheel Cylinders, the drums, the shoes and springs. So would it be cheeper to come onto a set of rear discs? What is the going rate for a disc swap? This is the type of thing that I don't have much money for right now, but am I am debating if I should spend money to replace the stock brake set up or just swap entirely, what is the better option here? I would also need some EA82 wheels at the same time, since the EA81 wagon wheels will not fit over the rear disc. Scott, I might need to borrow your stock steelies after all, depending on which way I go. Trying to get stuff lined up so everything flows.

Whoops, I think it was a '91. Either way, lets say I wanted to bolt the entire rear diff under my Wagon, is the bushing bracket the same? and Are these diffs the same length compared to the '83? Dan out here in WI has the rear diff out of his old Legacy, and I was thinking about getting onto it, if I could just bolt it up (Without changing internals over) Wow, I do like those wheels. I would be very interested in them, and later this summer works for me good for me, as I'd probably have more money by them (Should have the car done by then) I'm not sure what to offer for these, but I will PM ya.

My '83 GL: The Ski Wagon
Have yet to look closely at the two but, Are there any case changes in a 1983 3.900 Open diff, and a 1993 3.900 VLSD from a SS? Are the Axle stubs the same diameter? Is this a drop in?
-
My '83 GL: The Ski Wagon
I keep removing things, and then find that I have to do something else before I can put things back in. For instance, I removed the Diff, to drop the fuel tank and fix the wheel bearing, then I painted it, I then had to derust and paint the driveshaft, but now I have to derust and repaint the Shaft tunnel. What else can I remove? Lol!! I have most of my car in the basement. And yes, this IS Chrysler Red. One of my headlights was put in upside down. Some people are not Anal enough.

My '83 GL: The Ski Wagon
Yes, that is what turned me onto them. I thought they looked great on the car, even with the lift.

Help Identify This Part...
It shouldn't. I replaced mine with no further lights coming on. But it could have been the System refreshing its self, just a little glitch perhaps. If the vehicle is running fine, do not worry about it.
