You don't have a clue on how many drivability issues I have had to diagnose in through out the years solely related to Bosch platinum's. They just don't work. My rule of thumb is if its Japanese then stick NGK...and for a car of that vintage regular NGK's will work fine. It is the job of the parts person to sell you the more expensive stuff. That's how the store makes money, and they get to keep their job. Don't let them pigeon hole you. And quit frankly if their a good parts person they'll sell you the right stuff in the beginning..NGK, Wix not Fram etc, and not just go off of what is on the computer screen. Just my 2 cents FWIW

It is all up to you and what fits your personality. Here is one idea...http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=121578 That should at least get you started. Its already cool because it is a Subaru -

BUMP Less then a week away. Hope it turns out to be a good one. -
Actually that is Baccaruda's wagon...mine was Bigger and Meaner no seriously it was. I had to sell it last July. A forum member (who never really comes on much) from Salem bought it and drove it all the way down there. Man I miss that thing. Oh well some day I'll have another one of its equivalent. I know most don't like the EA82 body style but I actually do. I would like to find an ol' school wagon or hatch and do another build like that, but I need to make myself more gainfully employed right now. Make it my winter bomber mobile. Crap I have an 03 EJ25 just sitting in my garage, and a complete with wiring harness 95 EJ22 as well...but I need to stop driving it first...which means I need to pick up something else first. I am on the hunt for an impy/OTB sport wagon.

Dang it...all you guys getting impy/OTB sport wagons. I have been wanting one for like 4 years now and still no luck..now all, you all, are getting them like hot cakes....whats the deally yo. -
I may be potentially in....but I don't know about the whole rally thing( as far as the BRAT)...If I was gonna rally something it would be the lego with my bald as hell tires..er I mean my racing slicks. I really don't think I am up to rallying the BRAT...considering I am doing a stock resto on it, save for a few custom mods. Now if my sons BRAT was up an running I would rally the crap out of it.

Hello subaru peeps, officially!
Mugs replied to BuckarooBanzai's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Man that is one clean and shiny BRAT...welcome to the club.... If I am not mistaken (someone correct me if I am wrong) I think BRAT's only came in a 4pd...especially in 1985....the only way it may of had a 5sp is if someone did a swap...which many of us do here on the forum. If that is the case I'll shut up now. -

The phone reception is in and out. But if that spot is taken then there are more places just a hop, skip, and a jump away. -

OK here is what I am thinking I am going to do. I remember where we camped last year, it was cool and all, but I remember it being about 40 minutes out of E-Burg. And If I hadn't been following somebody I would have gotten lost. I think I am going to head to the Umtanum creek trail. We had a huge camp mid winter hang (Hammock camping) there this January. It is only about 15 minutes out of E-burg and is easy to get to. There is a nice camping spot about an 8 minute walk from the parking lot across the bridge and into an aspen grove.. We left out vehicles there all weekend and there was no problem. So according to google it is about 176 miles (3 hours) from Spokane to E-Burg and then 57 miles up US 97W (1 hour) from E-burg to Leavenworth. So I think I am going to camp at Umtanum and then wake up early and head into Leavenworth. Any body is welcome to join me if they wish. Just remember you have to haul you camping gear about 8 minutes to the campsite. Here is a map to Umtunam creek Here are some directions from Spokane. I-90 W 183 mi Spokane, WA 1. Head east on W Main Ave toward N Lincoln St 0.6 mi 2. Turn right at N Browne St 0.4 mi 3. Turn right to merge onto I-90 W/US-2 W/US-395 S toward Seattle 170 mi 4. Take exit 110 to merge onto I-82 E/US-97 S toward Yakima 3.6 mi 5. Take exit 3 for WA-821 S/Thrall Rd 0.2 mi 6. Turn right at WA-821 S/Thrall Rd 0.4 mi 7. Turn left at WA-821 S/Canyon Rd 8.2 mi Umtanum Creek Recreation Area The camping is free there so no worries about that. My son and I will be in the first grove of aspen trees you come upon. Just park in the parking lot, walk across the bridge, and then follow the trail around under and then up over the rail road tracks. Stay to the right at all times. You will see a tee in the trail...vere right and walk like another 5 minutes, you'll see a grove of aspens off on the left. Hope this helps. -
It should only take 30 minutes tops to get an EA81 out. Crap it only takes me 1 hour or so to get an EJ out for crying loud. I was at PNS today, there are about 4 EA 81's...slim pikins' compared to last week... there were about 10 EA81's and about 10 82's. But I still came home with a ton of goodies, non the less.

BRAT Meet 2011 - Leavenworth
Mugs replied to Fenix747's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
OK folks by this time last year we had a pretty active thread going. Its only 2 weekends away and will be here before you know it. So lets get a head count of who is coming and possibly what they are bringing for food to the BBQ. And if anybody has a "real" grill they would like to bring. Also what is the camping/sleeping accommodations for those of us that have to drive a good distance to get there, and might want to get there a day early and spend the night. I'll start: Me and my son. Dogs and dog fixins (or maybe burgers...I'll let him decide) for us both, along with other picnic items. I'll be bringing our small two man BBQ. -

BUMP...For Freshness Its only 3 weekends away...Better really start finalizing plans. Also my son and I were thinking about coming up on Saturday, just because I don't feel like getting up at 4:30-5am and driving like 4 hours and then repeating later :-\ You get the point. Were not much on the paid camp sites and given the fact that its going to be M-day weekend I am sure it is going to be packed. Just a nice place off the side of a road or on a forest road (dang-it that's gonna get the the BRAT dirty) would be fine. Plus it would make a bit of a "weekend" out of it. So does any one know of anything around Leavenworth like that. I did some snooping around on google and there is some forest roads that head out/in to town but not knowing the area it could be a shot in the dark. I guess if all else fails a hotel might work out better, but we were hoping to do the camping thing. And then just drive home Sunday night. Unless there's a hotel a-la USMB member around? That could be cool too. I'll bring my little mini BBQ too so we can cook off it, and any body else that wants too as well. I might by one of those cheapy "bigger" ones just for the show, that way we can all "gather round' " Hope to see you there. P.S. Hopefully I'll have the 5spd D/R in by then, but if not I guess I'm rolling the 4sp...no biggy. -
He's at 11.5" at the rear diff, and 10.5" at the exhaust y pipe union, which is the lowest hanging part of the front of the car at this moment. Knowing Brian, I am sure that that "problem" will get solved soon enough.

I'm tentative, Also you may want to change the google map to Safeway in Leavenworth Wa not Leavenworth Kansas city....Just sayin. -
Dude, You have no idea how bad I want to do this now. That thing is so sick...It looks like a real live stomper, all beefy and squaty, sorta bull doggish too. I thought a wagon looked good lifted, but this takes the cake, with the Imp body lines and all. Now start tubing the bumpers man...well get the motor in a reliable condition first.
-
UMMM He did lift it. Brian is a masterful builder, and a great problem solver. He did not just put some big tires on it and call it a day. He really did lift it what your seeing is the tires filling in the wheel well after the lift. Because believe those wouldn't have even fit in a stock height imp wagon. Now go take you wanna be criticism somewhere else. What you got that's lifted huh? And if you did I bet it was with store bought pre fabbed bolt in stuff, not your own engineered items.

OK so as other fathers can attest to, it is hard not to want to protect your children, even when there adults, married and live in a different state. Of course when she was living here, daddy's garage was the place she brought her 96 lego wagon to get fixed and what have you (she would help work on it too.) But now she is moved away and from what I can't tell from her description (as vague as that is) is maybe one of her front wheel bearings is going out. Well me not being the trusting sort and not wanting just any shop working on her car I am need of your alls help. So does any one of you personally live near or maybe know of a good import shop that is located in or around Almagordo New Mexico. She is stationed there at Holleman AFB with her husband. Thanks a million guys. Just Pm me or give a shout out here on the forum, Thanks
