  5. my 85 brat gl,why? because we bought it when it was 10 yrs old, have had it almost 10 yrs,and we just this yr. changed the oem motor in it,and the only reason we did that was because the tranny was GOING not gone, and the motor we got with the tranny was in better shape, has been a great truck and besides doing the motor this yr.(with ur guys help) the only thing major we`ve done in ten yrs was cv-joints,its been to indy and back dozens of times.cant beat em

  20. hey guys was at the j/y today and thought i found an oil pump i was going to pick up for a spare, but mine is a 1980 carbed. ea81 1.8,automatic and the guy at the j/y said according to his crossover thing, that only an 80 oil pump would fit it, and the 1 i was looking at was from an 85... does this sound right? thnx
  21. thnx tood ill try it,hope my prying earlier didnt do any damage:lol:
  22. hey guys a 1980 1.8 automatic, is there anything else that holds on the oil pump besides the 4 bolts? i have the crankshaft pulley off to replace the frt. oil seal and was going to replace the oil pump gasket while i was there. took off the for bolts and tapped it all around with a wooden mallet but it feels like something else is holding? thats my question of the day, thnx for any assistance.
