I have a 2007 Legacy sedan, and I noticed last night that one of the two lights on the trunk lid above the license plate bracket is out. Looking at the owner's manual, it looks easy to replace on the wagon, but it doesn't even give instructions for the sedan. It simply says replacement may be difficult - take it to the dealer! Is it even worth trying to do myself, or should I just wait until the next time I take the car in for servicing?

I just noticed on the Subaru site that the non-turbo 2008 Legacy is rated at 170 hp now vs 175, and the highway mileage estimate has gone from 30 down to 27. Is that simply due to a change in EPA reporting, or is there an actual hardware change? I found the old estimate of 30 mpg to be quite accurate. My 2007 2.5i Limited will actually exceed 30 mpg on the highway, even with the a/c running.

I'll definitely get a second opinion on it. Maybe I'll start following trucks more closely in the hope of getting nailed with another rock! LOL!

The guy I spoke to at the glass company didn't seem to think there was a problem, and said that the outer moulding isn't even really needed. I dunno...he said I could bring the car over for them to look at if I want. Maybe I should get a second opinion from another place.

Ugh, you really think so? I know that the corner seal looked like that right out of the factory, so I'm not sure how critical that external strip is. But if it needs to be redone, I guess I'd better get it redone. I just called the glass company, just to make sure it's not a problem. They're supposed to call me back tomorrow and send someone out to look at it.

My 2007 Legacy suffered a cracked windshield after less than two months of ownership. (It may have been hit by a small rock, but I think the windshield cracked more easily than it should have.) I just had it replaced, and I'm wondering, has anyone else here replaced the original? Have you had any issues with leaks or other problems? I'm wondering about that external seal - it doesn't sit flush all the way across. Is that a big deal? Do you know how easy it is to replace? Maybe I'll ask if they can replace it when I bring the car in for its first servicing, but only if it's easy to do. It's not that big a deal...

Hey y'all, I just purchased a 2007 Legacy 2.5i Limited last month! So far so good, but today I broke that little floor mat clip on the driver's side with my foot. Is this common? Seems very fragile, and I'm guessing not worth replacing.
