  1. Everything works great so far, only toured a little bit.
  2. Nice ride man. Yes you have found the Meca Of Subaru for sure. My mom had a similar wagon, till I rolled it with my babysitter at age 12. Whatch out for 4low at high speeds on dirt. Anyways, welcome, and happy wheeling.
  3. Amen!! And a kegorator in teh back!
  4. That was one good soobie. Glad everyone is ok! Goodbye ol friend.
  5. I have the same feeling when I touch my Subarus. Keep at it, don't give up, and have fun doing it!! BTW it's 30's here.
  6. I took the mech fan, and a/c condenser off, and swapped in a EA81 a/c fan on a switch. I plan on wiring it back to the original setup, but I like the EA81 fan better. Consider a dual core radiator. I am also with the 2.2 swap. The EA82T engines are fun if ya take them for what they are, but inferior in many, many ways to the EJ series engines.
  7. Yeah I had loosened the gas cap, but only after I was sprayed. Opps Damn plum forgot. So anyways, mystery is solved! It was the small harness that runs just under, and below the two main engine harnesses. So it was just a tiny bit loose (and am fairly sure this is the power to fuel pump ) So fixed the loose wire lead, and made sure the harness was plugged up tight, and whala! She runs perfecto. So I want to say thanks for everyone's help, I am glad she is back on the road.
  8. So I swapped the fuel pump/filter with the known working one from my wagon... Still the same thing, except she starts quicker, then dies again. Pinched the fuel line from tank, and got sprayed by the send line due to pressure build up. Fun times. Going to try and see what I can do about the wire harness to engine tonight. I just don't see how it could've gone bad.
  9. Yeah I just was using them as a base price reference. They sold me a starter for a Ferd van that never worked with, so I only use them for small stuff. I got a wagon that has a working one, and same EA82T setup. So I'll try that one, and then go to teh boneyeard when I can. I need to grab a bracket for the a/c to hold on the alt for the wagon anyways, so I'm sure I can get away with "borrowing" it for a while anyways. I'll keep ya posted if this works. I keep forgetting that's just the fuel gauge sensor under that access cover!!
  10. Yeah I was sitting here at job #2 last night thinking the same thing. Sure acts like a fuel pump!! Access to the pump is easy in the older roos, isn't it? How many in line filters aside from the large ufo in the engine bay are there? I can't wait to get off work to go work on her some more. Sure is depressing not driving such a fun car, and watching my dog "surf". Edit: Holy chit!!! Vatozone wants an arm AND a leg for a pump!! Is this thing made of gold???
  11. Wow a somehow depressing, yet thoughtful thread!! I miss Skyline Chili, good ol big boy burgers!! I miss sweating like a stuck pig in a late afternoon back east. Riding my bike miles with my buddy Jessie, and trying to cop some smokes from the ol cig machine. Fishin in the ol muddy river, never catching nothing but bluegill. I miss the 80's altogether!! The music, the crazy hair, crazy leg warmers... I miss gas at $0.75 a gallon. I miss Queen City raceway, and stopping at the ol A&W rootbeer stand after the races with my dad. I miss rollin around in the back of my dad's chevy on roadtrips, watching the road through rust holes in the bed. I miss the smokey mountains!! And random trips to Nashville, Red River Gorge. Ahh the good ol days!!!
  12. Yeah I'll have to re-check those main harnesses, and I don't believe the disty has much play. I'll get back to ya on that Monday. Thanks.
  13. Nope idles fine. Checked the disty, and the fuseable links. The power steering has leaked forever, but the timing belts should be dry and fine, I'll double check again this afternoon.
  14. Well as you can tell from me recent thread, the RX is down, and I'm just not sure if I can afford the gas for this one, we'll see guys.
  15. I've been all over, and asked a few members for help, but there is still something I am missing.... Car: 1987 RX turbo (EA82T) 150K Miles Problems: Trying to reverse, car dies. Slight rev, idiot lights light up, tac goes haywire, and engine tries to stall. Hard rev, WOT car bucks, and tries to die. (while driving) I try and rev in neutral to get the engine back up, and she just wants to cut out, and die. I've tried swapping out the alternator, the coil, battery, battery terminals, MAF, even some seafoam. The rear tail light was leaking due to poor seals, which I've taken care of, and dried everything out as best as I could. I've also tried searching through the wires at random to find some broken, or loose wiring to no avail. I'm at a loss here fellas, this is my daily driver, and the car my dog rides in. Anything I might have missed, feel free to call me out on. Thanks in advance for everyone's help.
  16. I should be there!! 11am eh? I wonder if the ol RX would make it.... better pack some tools. Alas I'll probably just take the WRX.
