  1. I also heard some bad news from my wife saying there might be a snowstorm coming friday and saturday that week. Just a forwarning. Also since we will be close to my house i will be trying to sell a set of 14inch 6lug wheels. I want 50 bucks, thats what i paid.
  2. Ive had this problem for a quite a while now but havent had the time to fix it. Ive been told the MAF or the IAC. I cleaned up the maf and that didnt fix it but i have yet to do the IAC. Kinda hard to get to and its more annoying then problematic. Its nice today so maybe ill give her another shot. Ben
  3. Sounds good to me, id say about around 1 or 2. That way we skip the lunch crowd and its still light out enough to take pictures. The only thing i can see being a problem is that its after thanksgiving and shoppers will be abundent. Like i said if we go after lunch it might be ok but most of desmoines tends to shop in west des moines during the holidays. but either way, im in and if you want we can go over to micks house and bug him.
  4. uhhhh jesus dude your not screwing around
  5. I could definately use a thermastat replacement and probally a pcv valve as well. Anyone got oem ones
  6. dude would you like a door, ill give you the one off my parts car
  7. Its amazing to me how people will go to great lengths to rice anything out
  8. Has anyone decided on a time, place, or day. Anyone want to trade some 14inch 6 lug mazda wheels for parts.
  9. For the life of me i can figure out where the hell this thing is leaking from and why it only does it sometimes. A few weeks ago i was geting puddles in the middle, then tonight it was on the left. And they all stop after a while. Running, cold, hot it doesnt matter. I wish i just knew where the freekin problem was so i can plan my attack. Its got 200 thou on teh clock so take your pick, rotten hoses, bad radiator, leaky gaskets. Who the hell knows. Im about to try and take a loan out to buy someother car. I cant have this thing let me down man. If i miss one more day before the end of the year i get canned. Cummon suby gods, rain gifts on me.
  10. This is my hero car, it makes me want to find 15 pugs even more.
  11. Well other people might chime in buttttttttttt, my first suby brake job i had help from mick and you need a special tool. Its not like most vehicles where you can use a c clamp to push in the caliper you need to twist it in. Vice Grips or special tool it down right sucks. So sadly its not extremely easy. Also look into swaping your rear drum brakes to disc. Very easy swap. Yea my drivers side cvshaft is clickin really good now that its cold. There are tons of writeups on cvshaft replacement and bearing replacement also. Try to use oem bearings, they seem to last longer some say.
  12. Im digin that old school crown vic youve got. Is that a police edition.
  13. It is a parts car. What im going to do is. Ive cut the plug in cord from the parts car and im going to hard wire that to my regular car. So in the future if something happens i get a newer one with a plug n play socket:grin: Im curious if anyone else can chime in on if the older ea82s all have hard wired blower motors, and it was just in the latter 3 years they switched to a plug and play type. Ben
  14. i can always use parts man just as long as there free and im (takin) them off your hands. Ive just got my 88dl wagon so i dont have a choice. bhienen Bring the brat, id like to see it personally. if i had the money id like to see your turbo wagon to buy but, i dotn think i can get enough. Have we set up a time and a place yet. I dont think we need a big place to meet at. Weve got this sports bar down the street. Bostons, pretty good food and theyve got a bar. Sounds like its gonna be just us kids, the old man cant make it. McPoop
  15. if mick shows up hes gonna need help bring all 50 of his freekin subys around, so will bheinen for that matter. Where do you want to have this, in desmoines great
  16. So ive talked on here before about haveing some blower motor issues. Well when i removed the old one to replace it with another quieter used one i found tons of leaves in the air duct. Ok so i go to unplug the old one only to find that its hardwired. The one out of my 93 wagon is a plug n play but on my 88 dl its hard wired. So should i go ahead and splice and hard wire the new one in, or try to oil the one already hardwired and hope for the best. It still works its just annoying. Ben
  17. kinda new at this but is it really that power to dent door panels and break windows. cuz that would be fun.
  18. ooohhhhh an iowa meet and great. Ive been waitng for this. I better shave:brow:
  19. Didnt hear anything on my end. And i have no paint job that nice to wax. (Yet) Plans in the works.
  20. screw it mick, if your doin all that. Small Block It
  21. Connie, you sent me a christmas card last year and i thought it was awsome. I know youve had some hard luck with subys but dont give up. I know for a fact that there are more people on this board that want you to stay then go. When it comes down to it, lets say you were restoring a car. Youve got a great platform. A good interior and body to start. Most people dont even start out with that. Now youve got engine trouble, ok so lets figure out the problem. I know what you were doing, psyching yourself up for the big moment, just waiting for the time to drive your car. Well it broke and now your heartbroken. But unlike a broken heart you have control of what happens next. You can choose to part off a beautiful car or you can keep it and move on. I have seen only encouragemtnt and praise when people try to help you. I hear you offer whatever assistance you can to others and cook food on top of that. Youve come this far connie dont give up. I think if you put the coupe away for a while and try to get your mind clear you will not want to get rid of it. There are tens of thousands of those engines running around. It will run again theres no mistake about that. The question is do you want to be the one driveing it. People will help you just let them and dont give up. Ben
  22. Good luck on the front brakes. There wonderful to change (shadup Mick). Another thing, Ditch those cheesy factory wheels and hubcaps and get yourself come wagon wheels or pugs. Depending on where you are in the country they could be easly had and there usually dirt cheep. I got mine, wheels and new tires 100 bucks. I always start with the basics when i buy a car. NGK plugs and Wires will go along way. Cap and rotor are nice but i was told if it wasnt broke dont tear into it so i left that alone. Clean your maf with electronic spray while your changin the air filter. Top off fluids, and make sure your 4wd works and is engageing. I dont think its bearings though my driver side cv shaft is clicking but onlywhen turning. If its clicking all the time then its on its way out. The next thing your gonna half to decide my man is if your gonna lift it, lower it, or leave it alone. Opinions vary on these subjects.
  23. No kidding, where do all these cherry brats come from lately. Welcome to the sight. Alot of problems people have when lifting these vehicles is they off road with them and hyperextend the cv shafts which destroys them. But it looks like your a beach bum:D so i dotn think that will be a problem with you. Check the classifieds section, lots of the stuff you asked about show up there every once in a while. Depending on where you live, which im not seeing parts could either be abundent or absent. Maybe a cali girl if so then you have west coast access which is great. There givin stuff away for those vehicles in washington. I believe if you contace mcbrat he might still have a toneau cover that would fit your brat.
