  1. Let me be the 1st to say, Welcome to the Obcession. The popping and clicking is more then likely a cv shaft. They go out quite frequently, Replace it with a MWE one. Dont get one from a parts store, they rarely work. Others will chime in on the detonation. Buy the way. This thread is useless without pictures. Us DLs Need to stick together.
  2. dont think about hurring up or anything for a suby meet or anything. Just take a step back go over it again and again. And take your time, itll be up and running for ya soon enough.
  3. Youve got to much into the old girl to give up now. Can you hold off until funds are better to get yourself a different motor.
  4. I think just about anyone on here with a heart doesnt want you to fail. Sorry about lil blue. Theres got to be a spare ea81 lying around somewhere in the lower 48 for your car. Just take what good you can off the blown one (if it is) and put them on the other. Be patient and apreciate the fact that at least youve got a good car to get you to work.
  5. im sure theres more to it then pullin a trigger but i would love to play paintbal but ive never done it
  6. Jesus i bet most of you guys are droolin. Im quoting this one so we can see the pictures again. That is the nicest looking brat ive ever scene. Awsome find you must of spent 5k on it.
  7. I thought id ask this here. Theres been some talk for me to just leave the covers off my belts when i swap out the water pump. Now im all for doing easier work, but i still cant grasp how you dont get internal parts of the belt and pullys dirty buy leaving them off. It would seem that you would be more prone to failure if you left them off then on. Also on the subject, is ther a way to fasten them onto the vehicle without now leaving them off completely. Like zip tying them on or possibly RTV them in a couple of spots just so they stick there then when you want them off you can pry or just pop them off. Ben
  8. depends on the miles man. I have 200 thou on mine and its still in her 30s age wise. How high pich of a wine is it. These cars shouldnt go for more them 1500 bucks. Now for 1500 bucks it better have no rust, immaculate interior, and a flawless drivetrain. Most people around here pay 1000 or less for something like that. Is it 2wd or 4wd. Ben
  9. NO laughing connie it happens ya know. Just be patient and try to work out the problems. You would half to pull the motor do work on the clutch anyways right so just replace the rear main while your doing that. It will work out connie you just wont be able to drive lb this year anymore but think how awsome it will be next year. Ben
  10. I like both the wheels and tire combos you have on these cars. Just wondering if you can tell me the type, size of the wheels and what size tires you had on them. Also what type of lowering did you do to the sedan. Ben
  11. This is really depressing buy the way, so i need some depressing music. Ahh country always does the trick. Things I Miss. Simple Things Layin on the hood of my first car watchin the stars. Crusin listen to local radio and getting lost in my thoughts. No one to be responsable for but myself. My Monte Carlos. The feeling of new loves. My friends that have moved on to lives away from here. Fireworks at my Uncles. Times when people close to me werent dieing. Innocence. Rideing my bike to the ben franklin to get 1:18th scale cars for my collection. When i had time to tinker with my cars when it didnt involve me needing them for work the next day. Drinking with friends out buy the lake. My first motorcycle. Late nights at fareway and village inn afterwards. Stealing my brothers jeep for a cruise. Living together with my family on 8th st, those were really fun times After my step dad left and it was just the 5 of us we had so much fun. We barbqued every weekend, i had my own 2 1/2 car garage to tinker in. 33 cars entered that garage broke and 33 left under there own power. And i did it all for the love of doing it. Back in the time where i wasnt running around all the time, times where i could stop and rest. Sleep in and enjoy the day. Simple weekend vacations. My full size cars and 150 gas. The summer of 99. Crackin movie lines and jokes with my brothers. Buy the way listening to country while writeing this was not a good idea.
  12. no turbo bad ju ju. Sure a turbo is gonna give him the power but in a 5 speed he can always downshift, then upgrade to fi latter on. And what good is that turbo gonna do if hes stranded on the side of a mountain with a blown head gasket
  13. Looks great connie, buttttt. Motors out and those valve covers look dirty. Better dress em up and paint em up while there out of the car and easily accessable. Ben
  14. Looks good, i havent seen one of those with those types of pugs. Nice.
  15. Buy this is in no way a loyale gl dl bashing. Most of us have or have had these cars. They are good and quirky cars but i wouldnt pay that much. I got mine for 400 bucks and i the 2nd for free, both with 4wd. Ben
  16. Yea 2500 is to much to pay for any car with close to 200 thou on the clock. For that money you should get into a nice legacy.
  17. WB and here we go. Lack of spark generated isnt automatically disty but since youve got it off, try to clean it up and see where it goes from there. These motors like oem stuff. Especially disty stuff. If you need plugs and wires go with ngk. If you cant get past that then try the fuel filter its on the driverside fender. Also get into a quiet spot and turn the car into the on position and make sure you can hear the fuel pump turn on. Also finally make sure youve got good charge or a good battery to use because to diagnose a non running vehicle your going to need a good battery for all the cranking yoru going to do:grin: Ben
  18. sadly i know but i dont know mick. The offset on these is different then most of the aftermarket ones. I just dont know how it would turn out. Ben
