  1. At least if the header pipes and cat converter are good you just need to replace the pipe back from there which shouldnt be to bad. Brake lines, ive known people to junk cars because the expensive of replaceing whole lines front to back. Just look into costs and go from there. These are truly great cars and are worth investing some money into them.
  2. I think it depends on how bad the rust is. Being in the rustbelt we have our problems with rust. Unless there are holes where the seat supports and suspension supports its not that bad. Hell youve already bought it so why not. Depending on how bad the brake lines are you might want to replace them all but that can be costly. I would look into others here for maybe a possible entire exhaust replacement or something from the junkyard to save you money. Same with the gas tank, a patch is nice but doesnt fix it. Infact the very man bheinen might have a gas tank and exhaust system to sell you. If the rot is into where the subframe bolts up to the trailing arms or the front suspension then its kinda a lost cause. Dealerships dont want to be liable and are somewhat babies when it comes to this stuff. They only really like to mess with newer cars.
  3. Just dont do what i did, go to tap and die and find out someone already helicoiled it. If i can be honest, i would recoment you do what i did. I had the exhaust shop cut and switch the exhaust header for the other 2 bolts. Worked like a charm and sealed up nice.
  4. Its not having the super bright lights that i had the problem with, its that they dont care there not adjust properly.
  5. Entered mine, it wont win but its nice to be up there.
  6. Looks nice man, time to get some pugs so you can get that huggy road feeling.
  7. Actually i do hear you have some dam good cheese.
  8. Lol thanks man, we are just out walking around while u guys stuff yourself with cheese. Ahh fun with stereotypes.
  9. I dont believe any of this is happening. Pics to prove it.
  10. Problem is that i dont know what the deal is, i dont have the car in front of me at this point. But i wasnt getting power to the fuel pump or the disty.
  11. After i tuned it up and fixed the windows it worked perfect. But then my grandma decided to trade in her car and that had lower miles and got better gas mileage. I still wouldnt be getting rid of this car if the other one wasnt slightly better. Get over 35mpg in the thing.
  12. If i end up needing an ecu for my 1988 Subaru DL, im told there are differences between cars and whatnot. What do i need to do to verify i will be purchaseing the right one. Ben P.S. if anyone has one id like to get your price on it.
  13. I cant believe you bought an auto though. Ive got a used cap and rotor that worked good when i took off the car. Replacement parts didnt fix what i thought was the problem, but you can have them if you want them. Oh snap there in my subaru.
  14. I would recomend you possibly getting some different springs in the back. When your loaded down in the 1st picture your squating. If your going to offroad with alot of gear you might want to look into the upgrades. I believe its accord or tempo springs or even another subaru with a stronger spring rate. Just something to take the load better. I have a white wagon with 27tires and a 2 inch lift. You look like you have a similar setup.
  15. Should be fun if the iowa guys can bring some old school stuff to this. http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=120081221412091
  16. [quote Oh look, a sail boat. Cummon you guys you act as if youve never seen a picture of a pretty girl before. Anyways, youve got a nice brat there. Talk to GD about the Maxima alternator upgrade for these engines. I see you also have the les schwab wheels as well. They are right about one thing, its rare to find a girl, a younger one at that whose into an old soob. Next youll be getting a bed roll bar and a lift kit. Have fun with it.
