I just remember how much pride you took in LB when you first got it. I will be very excited to see him back on the road. You did love driveing it when it worked and i hope you can get back to that feeling.

Does anyone know what the large hose on the bottom of the emissions canister goes to. This is the canister that is just below where the factory air box is on an ea82 engine. I just noticed it was hooked up to the canister but the other end wasnt connected to anything. I did notice alittle vacuum coming from it.

EA82 Rear Disc Swap Castle Nut Torque?

I understand what you are saying but trust me, there are certain things you want to make sure are done right. And Wheel nuts are one of them. -
EA82 Rear Disc Swap Castle Nut Torque?
The Dude Abides replied to drugh's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Did your pads fall apart in pieces like mine did. I didnt order new clips so i didnt use them. The ones that go on the pad not the ones on the caliper so hopfully i wont regret that deciion. It works good though and i dont care what anyone says, the rear disk swap is the best upgrade i ever did on this car. At least you dont need to twist these calipers in to compress them. -

New Wheeler for the summer CJ5
The Dude Abides replied to Scott in Bellingham's topic in Non-Soob Off Roading
To be honest id just fix it up and drive it. Far to many vintage jeeps get beat up on the trails. That one looks nice with the original tub. Id just put on some 235s or 31s fix whats wrong and drive it. I always love driveing an open top jeep. -
Yet none will be offroaded I kid I kid:grin: With the help from bheinen we replaced the front cv shaft and rear brake pads and rotors. Took way longer then he thought but i knew better, cuz thats how guido is a pain in the a**. Brake pads were so bad they fell out in rusty pieces and the cv shaft came out in 2 pieces. Drove home at 85mph just to make sure we did everything correctly. I learned 2 things. 1 they dont like to do 85. 2 lifted with no sway bar and bad shocks shouldnt do 85 either.

I want to say thank you. A while back we got into a huge debate on if that wheel would be even worth the swap. I was looking into lowering my wagon and was geting advice on doing the 6lug swap and useing the aluminum chevy 6 lug wheels. That looks great and if i ever lower a subaru i will be going that route. Good luck on your projects.

If thats the case then make sure you put in a 5 speed in place of the turbo. I talked to the guy and he said it was a turbo car. I was going to offer him 2k and see what he said. Thats about as high as i can go because now i need to pay for gas to get there and back. I would be worried about rust as well but you can only go off of what people tell you. He said it has had alot of work done to it.
-
Though this is true it might not be a while until i can get it like another week. To find a rust free subaru turbo in the midwest is just simply unheard of so sometimes youve got to jump. I guess relatively speaking i dont know how far madison is from milwaukee. I could just take my chances and drive up there in a couple of weekends and see it for myself but i know the alliance has very knowledgeable members so it would be beneficial for me to have them give it a good bill of health. If this is a problem i can do it myself but 2k is alot of money for me to spend on a car so if im driving out of state to get it i want it to be good. Like i said, just throwing this out there.
-
Anyone in the alliance willing to go check out this car for me. I could send the money and then you buy it for me and i pick it up a week latter. Its a huge trust in me to send you thousands of dollars but i would be willing if the right person did it. Ben http://madison.craigslist.org/cto/2331018736.html

Junk Yard meet-up Des Moines, Iowa
The Dude Abides replied to mcbrat's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Ooooooooooooooo right it has been raining alot. Either a ea82 or the maxima upgrade. Just the one on my soob the regulator is bad so when you hit the gas the wipers go faster and faster until you shift. On a side note if your looking for something to do ill be out at brents tomorrow working on the soob if you feel like getting greasy. -
