Ahh im thinkin the deal might fall through. Hard dealin with this stuff a thousand miles away. -
It has been discussed on which is better for offroad. Aluminum vs Steel. The question i have is now that im running 27inch tires with steel peugeot the car feels way heavy. I was curous as to the people who have run both aluminum and steel peugeot wheels have noticed a difference between the 2. I have both a steel and aluminum setup and i was wondering for driveability sake if i should switch over to the aluminum setup for a lighter feel or keep with the rugged steel. I know steel is toughter then aluminum but if i keep at this rate this clutch isnt going to last more then a few years.

Yea my mechanic ability is Ok but my electrical ability is definately lacking. What i figured out is that even though i only have a single range tranny on this im still going to try and put this in. Then when i get even more money ill get a car with no rust and transfer the lift/tires/motor over to that car with a good used dual range tranny. Need to find an adaptor but latter. I dont know if im going to be leaving this to my brother to swap in arizona or bring it back for me to swap in iowa. Ben -

who has put CD player in 90-94 loyale?

There should be a wire kit for your legacy at the very least. You want the wire kit good sir so you dont hack up your wireing. It makes it easier to wire in the factory radio again if you decide to take it out. -

I see we have similar or the same kits. Though i dont have the cubby under mine just an empty hole. Mine came with the car when i bought it. The aftermarket tape deck stereo was from the early 90s so i have a way earlier production kit. They didnt have wireing adapters either because it was hardwired to the original harness. It didnt work anymore so i took it out and replaced it with this. -

Now were getting into a whole new ball of wax. You want to swap motors from a ea81 to a ea82. Which is fine and dooable but its like going from a Mars bar to a Snickers bar. Sure theres more in the snickers but not enough that the mars bar can get you through the day. Depending on how much highway you have or want theres always the ej22 upgrade which involves lots of wireing and computer stuff but from what im told way worth it in the end. Plus the ej22 is one of the most durable engines subaru made. And the ej22 has 120hp vs the ea81 78hp and the ea82 98hp. Also look into getting Legacy seats to fit into that. If your not super tall they work great. And cheep aluminum 13inch wheels are easy to find. I told you if you want something bigger then 13inch wheels your going to need peugeot wheels. Try to score a set of those and your ride will (ride) alot better. -
Im curious if any ride comfort is sacraficed while doing this. I understand if you use more agressive tread tires but the overall outback setup on a legacy.

We have an iowa campout coming up in a couple weeks. Its short notice but its pretty fun time. Alot of the other wisconson folks are lame and dont want to make the drive. Either way, welcome aboard. -

Another thing that hasnt been suggested yet is upgradeing to peugeot wheels. The wider stance will remove the squishy - dippy feeling i used to get driveing it on the highway. You dont need to get all crazy with tall tires but you get a better selection with the 14 or 15 inch wheel. Not much selection with the stock 13s. It will feel more glued to the road which is great for every day driveing. -
Its to bad guys your gonna miss some fun. My brother is getting his jeep straightened up so he said hes definately in. Ill be bringin some grillin items. Im thinkin brat patties, maybe if im feeling froggy ill cook up some ppq pulled pork i can just heat up on the grill. Maybe some taters and whatnot. Should be good time.

Workin on it. Ive got a friend whose got the tractor trailer i just need the car hauler and enough people to want some. Then i need someone from the west coast (General Disorder) or whoever to hunt down enough rust free cars for me to get a trailers worth to the midwest. Its just finding a dam car hauler is the real problem. The way i figure it, depending on how many people wanted a car it would amount to about 500 - 600 bucks per car to get a rust free suby. But its really only worth it if we get a trailer load full. -
Werent you looking for one of these.

Ok no more jokes. I do wish you luck, have you found a junkyard with half decent ones to replace it with. If you could getsomeone to cut you out the whole wheelwell you could just piece them together and weld them into place. -

I hope this isnt your daily driver. What was the plan exactly, just cut it up then go from there. I dont really have a plan as such, just going moment to moment. Winging it really. (Cable Guy) -
Yea it has been shown before on here. Really nice but a very pricey upgrade thats for sure.
