  1. :)I cant believe one car has this many problems. Where are the pictures i know you know how to take them.
  2. Washed all the mud off of from mudcoast. Pictures here http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=109260&page=6 Hey anyone magically have there dashboard clock work again. I hit this huge rut which flung the rear of the car in the air. And the dash board clock slowly started getting brighter until it worked perfectly. Amazing the more i beat it the more things work.
  3. Thanks man, yea it was something to lift it buy myself but the look on peoples faces is priceless. And it friggin rides better if you can believe it. Just kinda bumbed on how rusty it is but ill get something rust free from your neck of the woods one day.

  4. My brother is going, he said hes going to bring his wrangler. I told him prepare to be harassed. He might find himself a legacy gt buy then. I havent reserved my campsight yet but will do this week. Looking at another subaru (svx) so well see how that goes.
  5. Plenty of room for all. Get with miles i think he wanted to bring some stuff down to give away but im not sure what. Have the people who are definately going register at the campground sight. I think you really should only need 2 sights between the 4 of you. Mick needs his own sight because he brings his big CHEVY truck with lots of lama love to SUBARU inspired events. No one said if they were going to bring guns for this campout or now. Im thinking of not doing this. I dont want to be responsable for weapons in my car if im beating it around on the trails. But its your guys call on that. Get somekind grocery list going between all of us so we know whos bring what and whatnot.
  6. Good daily driver tom, id vote to just drive it and wheel the loyale.
  7. There bounching around in the trunk of my taurus. Unless you want them in june we better meet up.
  8. Well lets start with whats easy. Transmission. Since its a wheeler you just cant go wrong with a ea82 dual range tranny. The ea81 series only had 4 gears and i think the overdrive would benefit those who didnt want a trailer queen. Engine. We could argue day and night about this. The ea81 and ea82s just dont seem to have tons of grunt when coupled with big tires. I dont know how much Hp you guys want but for me something simple. I would go with either a ej22 or what i would really do is the 3.3 svx motor. That way you dont need the turbos like in the wrx motors to make the big power. Even though its heavier i think the svx would be a great butt haulin motor in a wheeler Rear end. Obvious is welded for a dedicated offroader but i think a lsd would still be worth it. Would take away some of the pain for removing axels. Lift. If it were me, but with not a whole lot of knowledge on the subject. I think i would a full subframe lift with subframe connectors. Something that lowers the whole car but can be welded to the bottom of the body for added structure stability. I dont know much about any of the 4 link stuff but i think you need solid axels for that. Now the hard part. What vehicle to use. I personally like wagons. I like them better then brats, hatches and sedans. Brats are cool theres no getting around that. But they are not roomy on the interior. I like throwing my gear in the backseat and knowing im not going to fling mud or anything else on it. Sedans are nicer but i like the open pit in the back of my wagon. I like the functuality of a vehicle. And i find a wagon fufils that. Yes hatches are superior in the approace and departure aspect but i dont think a heavy svx motor in a hatch would be good for offroading very front end heavy. I hear that ea82 axels are superior to ea81s so thats the route i would go. So to summ it up my dream wheelr would be. 1989 subaru touring wagon. 5 speed dual range 3.3 svx motor 3.7 lsd I believe it has been done but buy some beefed up cv shafts for added strength. 6inch or more full subframe lift with subframe connectors Heavy duty utility bumpers with rear tire mount over bumper for weight distribution and a waren winch. Probally run 31 or 33 inch tires on chevy wheels with custom drilled 6 lug hubs with rear disc conversion.
  9. This was the rally picture takeing guy. I told him the camera guy never gets his picture taken, he thought it was funny. Overall it was ok. Dont let the pictures fool you there were some pretty narley ruts to take. That bug in the picture busted his whole front end takeing one the wrong way. You will be proud to know that the hole that swallowed many jeeps and trucks didnt take one soob. It flung my brother into the roof and i thought it was going to rip brents rear end off but it was ok. Sorry there werent more action shots but i was concentrating on driveing. Hopefully the other folks will toss in what pictures they took. I have some video but its not that great i need to check it out. Ben
  10. why dont you want to lift. 27 inch tires with a simple 2 inch lift. No cutting needed.
  11. It rides awsome, handles good. Took the mud like a champ. I need to clean it up someday but for now im sportin mud.
  12. Think i earned to be here now. 1988 subaru dl 2 inch lift 27-8 1/2 14 mud tires on pugs.
  13. If that were my car i would put a eibach sport spring kit on it and drop it about 1 1.2 inches. Looks huge up in the air with those wheels but if you droped it a bit it woudl look sick. Find something else to drive in the winter.
  14. trying to chase down a thread chaseing set. This might not be over yet.
  15. Guido gets........... LIFTEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD But doesnt get to go mudding. Aparently someone got happy with the hammer and knocked some threads on the tie rod end. I cant straighten them out and it seems that its a special order part for all the parts stores. Kinda ************ty to get this close and not get to go. Ill get over it.
