  1. Honestly this thing is a wreck. I love guido i really do but the iowa winters have been harsh on the old boy. I keep finding more structural rust. I can see 2 maybe 3 more years tops. I still have yet to install the front of the lift which im going to attempt this weekend. Poor old guy needs lots of help, but he does look friggin awsome.
  2. LOL true but thats why i put it in the new gen area because lots of plastic bumper people in there.
  3. Ill dig into this this weekend. Where is the bypass hose located.
  4. But doesnt get to go mudding. Unfortunately this isnt a april fools joke either. Its dripping out pretty good. That puddle was after about 10 minutes of running. So it would be either put the rest of the lift on and take it wheeling while spewing coolant like that or fix the wp which i assume is leaking. I dont know if the wp is bad because there is no play in the shaft but pretty sure thats where its leaking is right under it. Probally dripping into the friggin timeing belts which ill need to do also. F*** my world.
  5. So before my brother sold his legacy gt he wanted the split front bumper fixed. He took it to a auto body friend of mine who told him about plastic welding. At first i thought he was full of it but he procedes to pull out a dowel rod picked up at almost any store. Grabes a sodering iron and heats up the plastic and melts it spots along this crack. This crack was about 3ft long. Then after he gets it to hold into place he just melts the plastic into the crack. When it cools down it becomes as hard as original plastic. Then he sands it down flush, alittle bondo and some paint. And you can barely tell anything was done. Has anyone else heard of this before i was just amazed.
  6. Your a smart man mick so ill assume you tried this. But did you try putting a torch to it. Heating it up really hot then try backing them off. Just an idea.
  7. I cant answer your 2nd question but i can answer the 1st. Yea its pretty much bolt on stuff but with the abundence of 4wd vehicles around unless your despirate you should go this route. Its definately not as easy as just changeing a engine.
  8. Arent your parents storing enough of your yard finds already.
  9. I just kinda figured when the car stoped trying to move that was time to give up. Im not going to try any dangerous lines, or huge holes, or drive full power into a stream:rolleyes:
  10. I thought getting stuck was half the idea. Ok so dont get stuck and dont floor it if i do. Which makes no sence because how the heck are you suspost to get out of a sticky situation if you cant gas the bejesus out of the thing. Im not going anywhere unless the front of this lift cooperates.
  11. Hes given that thing so many steroids its pretty much a real truck.
  12. Why didnt you say anything, though the one in the junkyard was pretty narley.
  13. Yea thanks mick, now because of you and your (mud) tires i get to look forward to this thing trying to kill me all the time. Ben
  14. Some really nice guy pulled it for him in a muddy, slippy, raining junkyard. Since he lives in the middle of BFE now. LIke you do.
  15. 2x4 you hillbilly:lol: so when am i picking this up.
  16. I had thought about going in but im doing ok. I was always warned not to get hit in the temple because it could end you. Ive never been knocked out before so it sure was something. Yea im doin ok except for the right side of my head hirting.
  17. Well theres going to be a pack of us going, lots of non subes so i expect if i do get stuck i can get pulled out with ease. As far as spare parts, i guess ill just wing it. Its actually not to far from my house. Ill have a cb installed buy then so all should be good as far as communication. I will bring tools and whatever else i can manage. And brent, if i cant try the ooey goey stuff then whats the point brother. I want the carnage, i want to get stuck. Im going to show these namby pambys what a underpowered 4wd wagon can actually do. And when ive given her all shes got captin. You can pull me out
  18. So im preparing my car for the lift buy removing the rear shocks. The 1st side went ok but man they were on ther tight. Put some lube and backed them on and off frequently so i didnt bust everything. So im on the 1st bolt on the passenger side when my 2 10 inch extensions and my torque wrench (dont ask) slip off the bolt sending the torque wrench smashing full force against my temple, then the lights went out. I came too sprawled halfway under guido hunched over the tire with aching teeth and head. I dont know how long was i out but no one noticed. It was not a productive day.
  19. Yea i got alot of info on the page they directed me to. Alot of it i knew but some i didnt so it was most helpful.
  20. C darnit i knew there was something i just couldnt find it. Thanks.
  21. Ok so ive done a search and couldnt find anything. In a few weeks (bearing the car is ready) i will be going on my first real offroading experience. Now i dont know what we will come in contace, lots of mud for sure. But my questions are what types of preparations do i need to do to the car. I understand tires and lift but im talking about things like air pressure in the tires. OR weight distribution for the gear i have stored. How about what to avoid with certain lines to take. I know alot of things are learned out there but any tips of what you guys do would be helpfull. I have no doubt i will get stuck and probally break something but thats the nature of the beast. Any help or guidance would be appreciated. Ben
