  1. There are people all over the country in this forum. Dont know about new mexico but theres a few people in arizona, nevada.
  2. Dude this shouldnt be that hard. You just want the glass assembly right. I went and picked up a couple of sylvan silverstars for my dl a few years ago. Run ya 30 apiece. Any auto parts store should have these.
  3. From looking at pictures theyve taken when they checked out the route it is going to be narley. Not a good one neither, dont think ive ever seen a dodge ram sink like that. All the snow and rain has made it way soft and sloppy around here. 2 things are going to happen for sure. 1. You will get stuck and 2 you will get muddy.
  4. I would half to check out my timeing belts covers to even see how to do this but i have a pretty good view of my timeing belts via a huge hole on teh bottom of the covers.
  5. Is it possible to cut the bottom out of the timeing covers and just zip tie the front ones on so you have some coverage.
  6. Ok well ill just come over and borrow the brat then.
  7. Heres a mapqwest from my house to the event. If you locals want we can meet here and caravan. Its only 4 miles from where i am. Mick looks like its going to be on april 10 no matter what. http://www.mapquest.com/maps?1pn=Waveland+Cafe&1c=Booneville&1s=IA&1a=35653+Ute+Ave&1z=50038&1y=US&1l=41.523705&1g=-93.885675&1v=ADDRESS&1id=22818349&2pn=Sun+Prairie+Apartments&2c=West+Des+Moines&2s=IA&2a=5901+Vista+Dr&2z=50266&2y=US&2l=41.58962&2g=-93.78938&2v=ADDRESS&2id=6706731#b/maps/l:Waveland+Cafe:35653+Ute+Ave:Booneville:IA:50038:US:41.523705:-93.885675:address::1:::22818349/l:Sun+Prairie+Apartments:5901+Vista+Dr:West+Des+Moines:IA:50266:US:41.58962:-93.78938:address::1:::6706731/io:1:::::f:en_US:M:/e
  8. Just buy looking at what hes doing, seems like alot more work to make a decent wheeling justy.
  9. GD is just trying to help out guys. If you dont like what hes saying then take it in stride.
  10. I can understand why you remove them but i cant see how road grime and gunk would not get into the componenets and possibly sorten the life of them.
  11. Wonder how long the car ride is. 1660miles and 24hours of driveing. Ick.
  12. I dont know where this convro is going but i just like the wagon because it can haul all my crap and if i camp i can sleep in the car and not on the cold wet ground while listening to people chatin on the cb.
  13. Looks like theyve been updating there websight but now they have a signup sheet on there just so they know whos going. Make sure and do this if your attending or you might not get a spot. Im thinking its going to be next weekend. http://www.roadrallycharities.com/events/mudcoast/
  14. As long as you replace the belt driven fan with something you will be ok. Subarus have 2 fans. The electrical fan is for the engine and the clutch type fan is for cars equiped with ac to keep them xtra cool.
  15. I had a thread about this same thing last year. Infact hes pointed out some of the very connections i was missing.
  16. +1 Even if its a good deal some things are to much trouble. What you want is a basically any 79-89 subaru GL. Those have dual range trannys with both high and low range. Stick with a 5 speed because the auto trannys for these cars are troublesome and just plane suck. If it were me, i would stick with the fuel injection because though the ea81 engine is better (1979-84 in the wagon) ive seen the carbs on these engines be kinda headache. FI is much better for some of the extreme articulation the washington boys take there cars. Lots of people make lifts around here, you can go from simple 2 inch to extreme 8inch or more. Check out the offroad section and see some of the rides they have there. Wheels your limited to redrilling 6 lug wheels or finding some peugeot wheels. Its all been covered, spend a few hours useing the search function and i promise you you will have all your answers.
  17. I could give you a long elobarate answer but the simple one is yes it has been done lots of times. You will need an adaptor plate to fit it to the stock tranny and the wireing loom from a donar car. Type in ej swap in the search function and you get loads of info. Ben
  18. Got my mud tires on. Just waitin for some mud.
  19. I thought only waterpump clutch type fans were used when cars had ac. They all came standard with electric ones.
  20. With everything you make you think you would do up some beefy skidplates also.
