what do you use to remove decal glue residue?
The Dude Abides replied to mcbrat's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
This is more for the old pinstripes that are seemingly perminately affixed to the suby. Would wd40 work in this situation. Thats real cheep and easy. -

A/C Question

Pretty sure with alittle Hayse reading i can unbolt it and moveit out of the way. I just like things simple and out of the way. If theres no saveing this system then its out but for the idea of having AC is to sweet not to try. -
A/C Question

See mick, who needs options when you can have something rare. -
I did alittle searching and couldnt find my answer. Thinking about relocating the battery but dont know how great the advantages would be. Since the batterys up front and most water situations end up going nose first i thought maybe relocate the battery to where the spare tire used to be. But im not sure if......... a. its to tall b. no real advantage

A/C Question

I had thought of that also, but if they want me to pay them to decharge my system then im leaving it on. -
Heres my delima. Im needing to replace my valve cover gaskets at some point and the stupid A/C condenser is in the way. Now this isnt my daily driver anymore and the A/C doesnt work anyways. Though the A/C doesnt blow cold the system is still pressurized so it might just need recharged with r12 which i have:grin: Now it could also get thrown back into daily use again this summer which if i had working A/c it woudl be awsome plus the fact that if the condensor is hooked up buy a belt it might help with my defrosting problems in the winter. I wouldnt have a problem removing the AC if the system was bad but because it still holds pressure it makes me believe the system is salavagable. So here are the questions. Even thought the AC might still work would it be more in my favor to just remove it since its mainly going to be a wheeler wagon or winter car. If i decide to remove the AC since it is still pressurized what dangers might i encounter trying to remove the hoses. If i do remove it would anyone like to buy it. Or should i just leave it on and try to see if it will recharge. And then cut up my hands changeing the valve cover gasket. Heres the system

I have been mentioning it kinda jokenly in threads because someone was going to fab one up for me but hes been busy lately so he hasent had time. As far as i know he has half of it done so i wouldnt want to stick him with half a lift. Thanks for the offer though.

They usually give 1 to 2 weeks advance notice. Brent and Dennis had lots of fun last year and im planning on going this year. Check out the websight there donations are for a good cause but its not necessary to look at there videos and see what there about.

Whats your plan for sanding.
-
Yea i know about the short pieces and limiting the flex. Ive got it planned out pretty good but im going to make precision cuts and measure measure measure and try it out before anything gets glued together. Considering ive added a passanger side mirror, cd player, rear discs i have lots of options. Keep that option talk up mr and ill personally autograph your new door:grin:
