  1. That would be all well and good 91Loyale but heres the thing, there all the same size. Same wheel, same air pressure, same everything. Soooooo yea kinda puts a kabosh in that.
  2. Dont remember if i asked this, but what size are u running on your brat. Just finished cleaning and organizing my tools again. Wow what a mess that was.
  3. Mr Brat, just curious, how many drill bits did you use or what type.
  4. I wanted to try the rustolium roll on paint job but it takes to much time to do it right. Paint, sand, paint sand paint sand. It is cheeper buy far but takes more time. This way i spray and i sand down with 1500 grit and make it smooth. Good to go.
  5. If anyone could teach someone to do walker in a non lifted soob, im sure you would be the guy jeff.
  6. What are you saying here brent, are you saying i dont know what im talkin about. Are you telling me what to do, who the heck do you think you are. Your just wrong thats all just wrong. Your a silly smelly lama thats all. Sorry everone else gives you crap i guess i had to also. I guess what im saying is that im not painting my car primer thats not the route i was thinking about. But it is a flat color.
  7. So i noticed kinda some weird things when going in and out of 4wd today and now i share them with you. IM also looking into others imput on how there 4wd systems operate. So when i push in the button (single range) the light comes on and a second latter i feel the engine bog down alittle bit as it engauges the rear wheels. Ive noticed that it pulls to the left more when 4wd is engauged. It also seems to wanter more when 4wd is engauged then not. Like the old set of tires i had in just kinda seems to wanter from side to side but when i shift it back into 2wd mode this goes away. When i shift from 4wd to 2wd some times it SLAMS out of gear. Now some other things of interest. The car is old and does have a rear wheel bearing issue. Just curious how your systems operate and if these symptons are somewhat normal. Thanks Ben
  8. But if i use primer, when rust showes up, sand alittle, more primer and then done. Its not a nice car guys, dont get me wrong i like my car but when it comes down to it, its just a beater. I just want my beater to be 1 color. IF i had a car with not so much rust then we could talk different but oh boy theres rust.
  9. I probally need a pretty good compressor to throw the paint, i only know of people who have the huge ones nothing portable. I wish i still had my garage. Or knew someone who did. I can wait till spring just still dont see myself having anyplace to do this.
  10. I color man, 1 color is all i want. Its 4, maroon, black, white and orange rust. And it was a craigslist add so i assume it would be done in some dudes garage. I sh*t you not im about just to get some friggin spray cans and do it in the apartment parking lot. If you put paint on thick enough you can sand it down to look decent. Its not breaking any hearts as it sits now so what difference does it make if its in primer or not. Not trying to bust anyones buns here but if i had the means, give the guy what he wants and then be done with it. If no one will do it this spring for cheep ill do it myself this summer, i already have most of the stuff just lack a place to do it.
  11. Anyone have a problem with painters being to artistic. I can apreciate a guy wanting to hone his craft and do a good job. But when i say i want a simple primer coat sprayed on a car and i get told no i dont do that then wtf. I kinda figured people would be hard pressed for cash and could use money. All there is doing is spraying the car, im supplying the paint.
  12. oops sorry, just thought it was unbelieveable.
  13. Congrats, i had a 75 f150xlt with the 390 - c6 - and the 9"rear. I never drove it much but i did drive it to the guys house who bought it, was the 1st time i punched it hard. Woof had plenty of grunt. The only thing it couldnt pass was a gasstation. These things are notorious for haveing blower motor problems and there a nightmare to get to. Mine had typical iowa rust.
  14. Nice new car, let me give you some advice on keeping it that way. There telling you to replace the rad and make sure your cooling system is in good order is because these things love to overheat and blow headgaskets if the cooling system isnt up to par. And they blow very easly when it starts to get hot so thats why there warning you. As far as lowering the stance, there are ways to do it but the harder thing is finding aftermarket wheels and tires if you wanted them. You can use peugot wheels and there wheel lugs only. As far as lowering it there are ways you can do this while retaining the factory ride qualty, then you can buy cheep coilovers on ebay and have a bumpy ride. More then likely this might of been someones winter car or snow bunny. If they went into the mountains to go skiiing or something like that. Holy Schnikeys did you guys see it has the original subaru foglights with covers. Definately well taken care of car. Exhaust is ok to do, but ask guys on here about bigger turbos and intercoolers and thell tell you your waisting your time. These motors simply werent able to handle alot of upgrades. You can always swap in other more powerfull subaru engines with alittle of electric work to do to them. They make a ej22 motor adaptor plate which will hook up to your factory trans so you can have a 130+hp motor and still have the awsomeness of a dual range tranny. Usually we dont see them with 100k miles and in decent form. Do like others say, make sure the cooling system is good to go and you should be ok. Correct me if im wrong guys but the factory RX turbos came with rear disc brakes and rear sway bars. If it has those you can upgrade to the bigger sway bars from other subarus. These older subarus are like legos, alot of things just plug right in.
  15. Battery terminals were caked with crud so took them apart cleaned them and the battery up real good. This summer probally need to trim back the wires maybe even replace the cable ends for less beatup ones. Starts much faster now. Didnt get a chance to fix the exhaust leak which sucks, lost my garage and there is water everywhere due to the melting:grin:. On the other hand i drug every tool into the apartment so i can clean them and organize them.
  16. Looks great, i hate all your rust free cars you guys have there.
  17. Curious what yoru ride was like with honda coilovers and be specific on what your setup was. Lots of people want to go lower but its kinda dificult to achieve easily.
  18. Ive done it, engine still runs just as bad as it did before. Your good to go.
  19. Oh ive started my own thread and people are baffled. I was just curious since he was a mechanic what he has seen in the past. He has stated the inlet heater core line is hot but the outlet is cold. Mine are both hot.
