87' subaru DL, all stock, Sluggish prob
The Dude Abides replied to SubieSteve's topic in Carburated Engine Tech
I can tell you that if you have an 87 you have the carb version of that motor. The carb for that car isnt the friendliest thing in the world. Do some searches on here on how to tune up your hitachi. There kind of difficult to get into tune though. Do you have an auto or manual. -

BOSS 2" EA82 Lift Kits- $100!!!
The Dude Abides replied to The Beast I Drive's topic in Products for your Subaru
Ive had my lift kit for 2 years and there holding up strong. One question though. I think i would like to put 1 or 2 inch lift blocks under the crossmember. I think it would help with the angle and would ease when working on changine cv shafts or other suspension components. Would you be willing to make me a set with bolts and how much would you charge. -
Back in the Saddle
The Dude Abides replied to The Dude Abides's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I could do that, honestly driving the subaru again wouldnt be so bad if i just fixed the exhaust. Were in the middle of a heat wave so working outside on a car now is brutal. -
A/C compressor went out on the other car and since its all hooked up together theres no driveing it until it gets fixed. So Guido is back up on deck, fresh from his long stent at McBrats hideway bungalow. Hopefully everything is ship shape because i dont have a choice in this matter. McBrat i know the wheel bearing needs replaced but i dont have any other choice other then to not take the highway in it. Its way to hot for this right now.

If you do some checking online other people have done other types of sound absorbing material. Look up Brown Bread or just do a general search for dynamat and also put in alternatives and lots will come up.

Mick is good to talk to, i believe this is the setup we got for Guido. Everything was there from what i understand. Although there was alot more to switch over from FI to carburated.

I am really interested in seeing how those remake magnaflow ones from summit perform. But thats quite the price for them.

I run 27inch tires with a 2 inch lift and i didnt cut. -
To be honest, i think alot had to do with the auto. But that being said, i now have a ea81 but dont quite know how much response the engine will give until i get the exhaust buttoned up.

I like your idea but wont that be hard with a less powerfull engine and a tranny that runs in fwd most of the time.
