This is the one time of year when my car shines.

Its so bad they cancled work for me before i could even come in. So, who in central iowa wants to go out and play. Maybe pull some sorry saps out of the ditch.

No sorry if i didnt clarify. I have fuel injection. But i sprayed some lub on the linkage and alittle on the cable and didnt freeze up tonight. The real test will be tomorrow before work. It will have sat 19 hours and its suspost to get super cold with lots of snow. It gets pretty cold here sometimes but lately its only been in the 20s 30s

It still keeps hanging up. Its not the cable, its the linkage on the throttle body. So i sprayed some lube on it today and well see if that works. If not its back to the drawing board. Like i said, after the car warms upa bit it works fine. Ben

Why would i replace the cable, it seems fine.

Oh the original poster said it needed a HG so i figured just rip the whole thing out and do it right.

Ok so its been a bit cold here lately but not that cold, so i go out the car yesterday. Give it my usual tap on the gas and it froze. I pump it once and sticks to the floor. As predicted, start it up and throttle is wide open. I was able to kinda work it lose so it drove to work fine. After work, did the same thing. I ended up getting under the hood and moving the piviot point on the throttle body so it didnt idle so high but it was stuck in that position until i was able to work that free. So, is this something i can just lube up or is something potentially broken. It doesn stick after its been warmed up and the cable and mechanism work fine. Just seems like when its super cold out it will do this. Any ideas. Ben

rip the whole thing out and do a refresh - reseal job.

Ok i just checked, i dont get the check engine upon startup but everywhere else. What do i do to get to this thing and change the bulb.

Ok so, i took off the dead electric fan today and have just the clutch type one from the AC unit. I was curious of the offroaders prefer this type of fan since it wouldnt fail buy getting wet. Or if anyone could recomend a aftermarket fan that fits into that compartment. You can pick up some 14 or 16 inch electric fans for 33bucks or less. Ben

What does the CEL light look like, becaust i dont think mine shows on when startup.

Yep, no cel and runs the same so ill plug it. Plugging the line is easy but nothing really to hook onto the broken piece. I could probally get one cheap from a car being parted out;) if it would make it that much easier of a repair.

I was changing out my t-stat and bumped this thing wich snapped off. What is it and what is its purpose.

Replaced the T-Stat and took off the dead electric fan. Also did some work on my brothers cutlass as well. Per usual my helper was there.

Other possible problem might be the steel belt seperating but more then likelly a wheel bearing. I know this because mine humms along nicely.

Im having the same problems. I replaced my battery last year. Used some vasoline (recomended) on the terminals. And i have corosion this year. On the same note, the battery in my wifes van failed the same time last year (-37). I bought a diehard from sears and got there instalation kit which included a brush to clean everything up, the red and green felt stuff to go undernieth the terminals and the spray. No corrosion for that one. I do however on my car have the corosion heading back into the cable so more then likelly i will need to hack some off or replace the whole thing. Ben

U know GD I have one installed there already. I dont understand how its suspost to work though, How can you flush it if it only goes one way.

Its hot but i wouldnt doubt it needs flushed. Just one of many things i wont get to again this year.

Just curious if theres airflow on the outside of the window as well as the inside. I only seem to have flow on the inside and im curious if its suspost to be on both. Takes a while to clean the windows up.
