I got around to putting on my new (used) exhaust on. Its so darn quiet, i can hear all the other exhaust leaks now:lol: Anyone else know where i can score some manifold gaskets. Oh and heres something else ive been working on. I swear these backing plates look so clean i dont think they deserve to be on my car. Ruberized Paint. They will never rust again. Oh and put the 1st coat on the bumper this morning. -

Also look at the little sentence under GeneralDisorders name at the top of his posts. Thats not a typo. Again Welcome:) -
I figured i would document my advances on the cancer on my car and overall improvements im doing do it as i drive it. I dont get to do much with 3 kiddies and a wife but i do what i can. I replace many things my brother neglected to like headlights:lol: 1st thing i did was replace the stereo. I picked this stereo because the green matches the green on the dash. Thats brewer buy the way, hes been ridin with me since 1996. Survived through 20 cars and 3 break ins. Removed front and rear side trim and the mudflaps Found lots more rust after that. So now were current it took me a few weeks but i finally got my wheel sanded primed and painted. But i couldnt put nice wheels on rusty innards so i tossed some red paint on the caliper. Its good for at least 10 more hp. Some preliminary rust work but the stuff comes back faster then i can sand it and fix it. Also have the back bumper sanded and painted flat black, going to put final coats on in a couple days. The last picture is a the next wheel to get worked on and the nice door panels to replace the dry cracked ones in the car. Ill have a picture of that when i remove it.

My wagon with 14" pugs with 26" tires!

Did you get your answer about the center caps. I believe you can use the chrome ones from your original wheels and modify them slightly to fit the pugs. Theres a writeup on here somewhere. -

I wouldnt lift it but thats just me. I like the look it gives. I think you should post a before and after pic of your car. I remember when it had nothing on it. Buy the way i had a guy quote me on some bead blasting and powder coating. Yea it was ungodly expensive but if you want to do it right its definately the way to go. You notice in the pictures before how theres rust and its pitted. They did a nice job filling all that in. Looks really nice. -

bring all 5 brent ill take them all. Cash in hand. Ok roll call and what your bringing call. Its just a few weeks away. In any incident there is the slight possibility i might not be able to attent. My wife might need to back into surgery for more gallbladder stuff. But if thats true then she misses her vacation which sucks for all. But lets hope it doesnt get to that. So anyways whats everyone planning to bring. I have a small grill with some charcoll and lighter fluid. Assorted Non Alcoholic beverages. My campin stuff. Rear disc Brakes (but i might install them buy then) Assorted tools but if others are bringing theres ill leave mine at home. Ill be leaving room to take 5 pugs home brent:lol: -
Man beast that setup has to be loud as hell. For street or every day use i would of ran it out the back. My exhaust is missing from muffler and on and its annoying sometimes.

Lol see yall are crackin jokes. Did you see his passenger side rear door in the last picture. He messed up his car pretty good on that one. My condolences and glad you got it back ok.

keep up the good work. Have faith brother. -
There have been people who have done this. I understand it kills a bit of backpressure if you eliminate the cats, resoner, and muffler. Give it a try and see what happens.

normaly i would but there was no where to go this time. Utility poles and a bus bench to my right and a line of cars to my left. I had no choice but to brake. -
So im cluckin along at 35mph on ashworth buy valley highschool. About 2 car lengths back from the light some (blepty blepty Bleep0 in his altima with bling wheels turns right in front of me. I have never asked my car to do anything quickly because its old and i understand. I slam on the brakes and go into a skid. The frontends alittle loose so the wheels turn left as im still slideing to the right. All i see is white and i brace for impact. I had to miss him buy a hair and end up bumping the sidewalk entrance. I had stopped so violently that the car died on me and everything in the back area was thrown up against the seat. I sat there for 30 seconds just takeing it all in. I skidded so long i thought i wore a flatspot in the front tires. Thank goodness no flatspots or problems from slamin and lockin up the brakes. 2 things are clear. I really need to get those back brakes taken care of. I was very very lucky. I kept thinking about how i wouldnt have a car anymore because i would be able to afford a new one. How i might half to miss work or go to the hospital. Im just happy i made it out ok and my car isnt messed up.

I thought of the legys but to big. Remember 85 year old woman. We dont want her driveing anything huge in comparison to here little escort. The imprez is the same size as the car she has now. Just a better motor and the awd. Honestly in her case the simpler the better. NO cd player, heated seats, or sunroof are necessary. She wont use them. The ony thing she really needs is a/c, power windows, and an automatic transmission. Anything else doesnt matter. Just a place to put her flowers. And yes dennis probally height adjustable seats for my 4 1/2 ft grandmother who buy the way would knock your block off if you looked at her funny.)
-
Kinda funny. My grandma is looking to retire her escort and get a newer car. I asked her what she wanted, something small with a hatch so she can put her flowers in it. I asked her what else she wanted. automatic. I told her about the impreza and she was interested. I told her about the awd how it would be safer for her in the winter and she coudl still get 28 or so mpg. I was wondering what year or even trim package style i should go for or stay away from. Max 10 thousand. this is a 87 year old lady who doesnt need a wrx or a sti. Just the basic awd impreza. Any help on where i could look or what i should be looking for would be greatfull.
