Could someone please donate this man a new front end for his car. Start buy painting those brown doors silver. Then take some wheel paint and make them all 1 color. Get a front end on then i will say youve done something. Keep your chin up man. -
My favorite is i find the socket i need but cant find the wrench to turn it. So i shove a flathead screwdriver in there to get the job done. Im sure others have done more, but thats one tool ive made.

Now that youve got it running properly we can discuss the 5speed 4wd swap. Yes it can be done, and yes you should do it. -

Common problem. Blower resistor block. Do a search and you will get all the info you need. I only have the last 2 speeds on mine but i havent found a good one to replace it with. -

I was skeptical about these cars at first but i have 200k on mine and it still works good. The typical thing about these cars is that they get eaten up buy rust pretty good. Keep that in check and keep up on the maintence and you should be fine. These are great cars and the 4wd system is better then the yotas only because you have the dual range option if your so equiped. Even if you have single range its great in the snow and mud. -

Glad you got this worked out. Now you can say to your friends whose laughing now. I had something like that happen to an old bronco i had. I went to work and my brother and his friends decided to steal it and go joyrideing. Well they didnt get a block away before it quit running. We towed it back to my place and i tore apart the ignition, gave it a tuneup, checked everything and it still wouldnt start just turn over. Well the hillbilly who had it before me changed it to an electric fuel pump and had the wire just sticking into the fuse box. It came loose, fuel pump quit working end of story. I hooked up herd the pump pumping and she fired right up. Kinda funny how things like that work out. -
what ive found that after a car sits for a bit, make sure that battery is good and charged up full. If its sitting at an angle and doesnt have alot of gas in it you might need to put a couple gallons in. I turn the key into the on position then off then on then off. Get that system nice and primed up with gas. If it still fails to start after that, then you check your fuel, and spark. See if you can get it to start with starting fluid.
