Hey man,I was just talking to my wife and she suggested you get ahold of these guys and file a complaint about your insurance company being difficult. It can't hurt. http://www.insurance.wa.gov/consumers/index.shtml

Sorry to hear about all your trouble,Tex. I was burglarized the same exact way a couple years ago. Pryed open my garage door and stole a bunch of tools. They never made it into the house, prolly 'cause they were busy wheeling off my '79 Honda XL650. My insurance company paid for everything. In fact, they called me up a week or so after the burglary, and this guy just started asking what I lost and how much I paid for it and how long I owned it. He paid full retail price on everything, and adjusted down 10-20 percent for age. In the end,I made money on the deal. But,it was a bad experiece for sure. It was crazy, really.I never had to produce a recipt, pic or any other proof of ownership. The bike I lost was not covered 'cause I hadn't rode it in years and had no current policy on it. I did get it back, thou. Some guy bought it off CL and tryed to get a title for it at the DOL. I guess it was red flagged in their system 'cause the lady at the DOL called the state police and anyway. I'm blown away at the resistance your insurance company is giving you. I'd at the very least consult with a lawyer.

It had a hood. I didn't look too close at it's condition. As for the cosmic blue,I only know it as light blue. It is the common light blue color that ea81 wagons came in.
-
I was there yesterday. The one by the Airbase on Steel st. There is a lt. blue ea81 wagon. 2WD with a complete power steering set up. Missing pass. door. Interior is kinda rough. I only saw one ea82:confused:. Several ej22 vehicles.

does anyone know where these go
markjw replied to desdinova's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I'd take a two or three inch piece of vac hose and connect the two nipples to each other. And then I'd just move on. As to where they go,I have no Idea. -
3 minor assembly questions
markjw replied to desdinova's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I can't contribute much except to say that I have seen that valve in that location before. It was on a parts car I had for just a short while. I have always wondered about it. I just thought it was part of the block heater. -
If I wanted to buy the best ea81 engine I could find, and didn't mind spending a few bucks,I'd seriously consider these guys. http://www.ccrengines.com/

Did you check the fuse panel? The one under the dash. Maybe the jumper wire grounded and blew out the Ign./Fuel fuse. Or,some other fuse.

Thanks for all the Great advice. In the end,I think it was corroded wires or spades. After pulling the relay out and unpluging and replugging a couple connections, the pump started working again. So,this wagon is shaping up. I have to do a little cleaning, but its straight and the paint is good. I'm thinking about staying with the Northwest Green color. But my wife and kids are really complaining. I may in the end have to go back to the burgandy/red.

Welcome Back,JesZek!

Probably why I haven't made one. I don't even put a engine hoist on them anymore so long as my brother is around. We just lift um by hand. For now,at least.

I never even thought of it,Jeff. I have been messing with the ea81 cars for so long,I kinda forgot about that. I'll do some research on it and check it out. Thanks,Man.

I'm trying to make this 1993 Loyale run. I got it free with lots of timing components missing. And,the oil pump was off. Anyway,I have it all back together. If fuel is the intake,it starts. In fact,I bypased the fuel pump electrical system, put 12V directly to the pump and it runs pretty good. Initally,I could hear the pump cycle for a second or so when I turned on the ignition with the key. That ain't happening anymore. The pump is silent. Except,of course, when I put 12V to it. The fuse in the block that is marked Ign.Fuel is good. And,I have 12V of power in that slot when I put a Volt meter on the two tabs. I'm going to replace the fuel pump relay tomorrow with one I get from the yard. Any other advice on what I might check? What about the white plug that plugs into the back of the Alt.? I know its related to the pump, but if I have 12V at the fuse, can I rule that out as a potential problem?

Alright..Thanks. I'm going to just bolt it on and give it some hella torque. I pulled the crank sprocket off the engine at the yard. I looked it over and put it back. I don't remember seeing a pin or a key way.
-
The pully has a hole for what looks like a pin. I don't know. Something doesn't add up. Looks like I may have left behind a pin that sticks out of the belt sproket.
-
I'm trying to put back together a ea82 engine that someone didn't finish a oil pump/timing belt job on. I had to go the the wrecking yard today for a crank pully (original one was lost). Found one, spun the crank bolt off and was on my way. So,I go to install it on the end of the crank and it seems there should be a key way. Should there be? Or,is it just held on by the torque of the crank bolt? I just did a bunch of front engine work on a ea82 a month ago. I can't remember this part. Thanks. (I searched,no answer)

Glad to hear it's just computer problems. Thanks for the info.

Seems he hasn't been on the board in over a month. Hope everything is Ok.

Did you pull the motor to do the head gaskets? -

I'm sure you have checked, but is the car out of gear? If it is,you need to pull the spark plugs and try turning it then. If that aint working, pull the dizzy and try it then. If that still isn't doing it, then I can only guess that the starter motor has jammed the drive gear into the flywheel teeth and isn't releasing. -
IMO,this is the million dollar question. And,the 800 lb gorilla. There's no better way to make a 13 yr old hate a BRAT than to end up having to take it away 'cause he ain't taking care of the school business. All A's and B's? That's pretty optimistic, maybe not for your son but for mine, I'd be setting us both up for disappointment. I say buy the Brat, give it to him up front, and explain to him you'll only help support the project if he's trying hard in school. The more involved he is in school, the more involved you are with the Brat project. If he'd rather screw off in school, the Brat can sit outside in the rain. He can explain to his girlfriend why they still riding bicycles around town. If he's focused on improvement in school, the Brat sits in the center of the shop under the bright lights. Personally,I'm more focused on the quality of my children's character than I am on their grades in school. Of course, I want them to be relatively honest and somewhat motivated. But,most of all,I want them to show up when they say they will,do what they promise and never be late for anything. Those are the things that are most important to me.
