  1. Pacific Import Auto in Tacoma is kind of a Subaru repair specialist shop. There are good and bad reviews but who knows what actually transpired to earn a bad review? The shop has been there for decades.
  2. There is a separate forum here for that year: 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX
  3. "Cyber Libel: Defamation which is written such as on a web site. Most online defamation occurs through libel by posting a web page, comment, bulletin board post, review, rating or blog post." Also called defamation. Maybe IROCDUDE89 wants to be sued.
  4. Every so often I have some guy ask me if I want to sell my '86 GL. One even put a note under my windshield. And that was when I was out of town and in the big city. My opinion is, if they're still stock they're desirable. I've bought and sold antiques & vintage items for years (not cars) and once something has been altered in any way the value tanks.
  5. I think it would be worth more stock (as close to pristine as possible) than altered in any way (Frankensubed).
  6. It's a beauty. Thanks for all the great photos. I hope you keep it stock.
  7. This is a ways from you but still in WA state. Check out this place, their expertise is rebuilding radiators: https://hartradiator.com/
  8. I've had this site in my bookmarks for several years. It might be helpful. 9. You could fold up a small piece of cardboard and wedge it in there. If you're saving your pennies. I use a cardboard wedge for various things, mostly for 9V batteries in things that don't make contact as well as they should.
  10. I bought mine from Redline. http://www.redlineweber.com/carb-kits/auto/subaru/ They may not have the one you need in stock but you can get the right part numbers there.
  11. About the thinning hair...if you wear a baseball cap all the time that will contribute to hair loss. No oxygen getting to the hair roots. That and heredity.
  12. Maybe the best way is to smooth it out so there is not even a hint of a crumble sticking up and then apply the new decal over it. As long as you had gotten the surface perfectly smooth. You could tape off a big frame around and then use whatever is non-destructive to "sand' it smooth.
  13. The organic way: try peanut butter or vegetable oil. Let it sit on the decal for an hour or so to soak in. Then it should rub right off with your fingers. Or a paper towel. Give the area a good washing before trying to apply the new decal.
  14. I still have my rubber floor mats and tool kit in my '86.
  15. I turned it into a live link that will open the site.
  16. Tire Rack has 5 different tires (brands) in 175/70/13 to choose from. No, I don't work for Tire Rack.
  17. Have you checked on Tire Rack? https://www.tirerack.com/content/tirerack/desktop/en/homepage.html
  18. Exactly! Just think how much dirt and gunk has blown into the car and down into the window tracks in a car that's almost 30 years old. I have one window like that on my '86. The car had large dogs riding in it for a quarter century and the window they liked to stick their heads out of has its works gummed up with dog slobber.
  19. I'd just rather stay totally legal and not have to worry about what-if. Better for insurance rates and credit rating if there are no blips on the record.
  20. I was going to get collector plates for my '86 until I saw the mileage restrictions. I drive it all the time. Not every day but a time or two every week, trading off with the gas-hogging SUV.
  21. Did you try having someone else (or yourself) put their head under the hood while the engine is running and someone is giving it RPMS, to try to pinpoint where it's coming from? Silly question, of course you did.
  22. "Is it possible to mate an EA81 to 97 impreza?" As long as one is a girl and one is a boy.
  23. Oops. That Weber is so powerful it blew the belt right off.
