  1. nah, the best way to tell if you have a broken cv boot without getting under the car is simple (If your really that lazy), Have someone else crawl under and tell you if it's broken.
  2. is there any advanteges from running an EA82 turbo? Given that one already has a Watercoooled EA81 turbo?
  3. kind of a cheap fast fix, But usualy if the car runs good and you know it's in good shape, i just un-plug the check engine light:).
  4. Im not sure what the going price is, But i got lucky and got one out of a smashed 84, Started it up before i bought it, But the big kicker was the ticker only had 83,000 on it. $75.00 for everything, the wireing,plenum,turbo, all lines and aircleaner box. Like i said "I got luckY!"
  5. Not sure of wich ones got it for why, but my 84t wagon has a water cooled turbo. Does anyone know if any after market performance injecters are availible for the EA81 turbos?
  6. What about the throtle linkage?, it would be backwards.And how would that work?
  7. Those are bad-rump roast, where did you get them?, what where they made for?
  8. My dad just put a 32/36 weber on his 87 wagon using the redline adapter but had to take off the automatic choke housing. When the choke housing is on the carb you can't put the carb on due to the fact that it hits the power streing pump Not having a duble pully on the ps pump we also canot move the pump forward. Any ideas as to why the simple bolt on procedure isn't so simple?
  9. Ok, I have another one for you. Does the digi dash still use a speedo cable? or is it also a sending unit? If it is a cable will it hook up to the analog speedo? also do i have to modify the analog speedo? same gearing, basically will the speedo be accurate?
  10. Is it a pain in the rump roast to do the swap?, You would think that stuff would interchange. What's involved?, Keeping in mind that auto electric is most definatly not one of my strong points nor favored tasks. If and when i get my dash changed over all that digital **** is going in the garbage can!
  11. I just bought a 84 turbo/auto that has an all digital insturment cluster, Led's for all guages, temp/oil/amp/tach/speedo and a trip computer. I don't like it! Now i have a spare standard cluster out of an 83GL wagon. Question is if i put the older cluster in the turbo is the wiring going to be the same? Can i just switch them over-plug it in and be done with it? I am still wanting to keep the boost indicator tho, wich i know i will have to put into the standard cluster. Anybody have any info on this idea?

  13. When i bought may car it had only 1 small dent in it, Only paid $50.00 for, looked real good. After a friend drove it and smashed in my passanger front fender and i rolled it on the driver side, it only looks like a $50.00 car. But i have no one to blame but myself, Plans to get it all fixed tho, Have my new doors and both front fender's. Only thing is that the panel behind the rear door is caved in from the role over, I don't do body work!, Not even sure if it can be fixed. It's mettalic **** browne and beat to hell, But that my baby! 81,gl wagon
  14. sounds like woody woodpecker when driving in 4x4 from the rear. What your is your car? carrier baring?
  15. I have had my 81 gl 4X4 wagon to 104 by gps, that was over a 6 mile stretch trying to catch my brother on a 700 kawasaki vulcan. I Don't forsee it going any faster than that. Running weber and exel coil.
  16. Yes, Your highest gear on both tranny's are 1/1 , meaning 1 rotation of the motor to 1 rotation of the drive shaft. 4th on a 4 speed is the same as 5th on a 5 speed. Allmost all tranny's are like this, highest gear 1/1.
