  1. Thanks, i read that article. good information there. Doesn't answer my question specifically, but i think it will help me get closer at least!
  2. Oops, sorry, should have provided details of the car! Completely forgot about that... It's a 1996 Legacy L Wagon 2.2L. Charcoal canister is located in the back behind the passenger side back wheel just under the bumper. I'll take a look at the articles linked and see if they give me any more clues. What is the differnece between "Enhanced evap" and regular?
  3. Okay, i've exchanged about 3 different hoses with the dealer, they can't tell me what hose this is. I havent brought it in for them to look at because i don't want to pay for it, but i just want to be able to change out this broken hose. Could anybody tell me what hose this is in the picture i've attached? i attached a second picture with a different angle for more reference. I think the hose that it's coming out of comes out of the "Purge" nozzle on the canister, but need to double check. The hose i am trying to find out about is the one that "T"'s off of this hose. http://www.g35marketplace.com/subaru/broken%20hose.JPG at a different angle for reference: http://www.g35marketplace.com/subaru/DSC01113.JPG Thanks!
  4. Gotcha, Is there anyway to reset the light to see if the error comes back?
  5. Thanks. I've not had any torque bind before this (tested it when i bought the car). But will test it again once I can. Nevertheless, sounds like I'm bound for a trip to the dealer anyway? Any reason why not a transmission shop? Thanks,
  6. Thanks for the quick response. I did a little bit of searching ( sorry, i should have done it before posting i know!!) and found some additional posts related to this subject as well. Thanks for the link, looks like i won't be driving the car for awhile until I find the time to diagnose it. Hope it doesn't end up being too costly..
  7. Hey Guys, I have a 1996 Subaru Legacy L AWD. I started the car up today to find the AT oil light was flashing... It flashed 16 times repeatedly. Car drives fine and I would not know the difference otherwise. I searched around on the internet and found what the code might mean, not sure if it applies to this year subaru or not. But i found something that says 16 flashes is a "2-4 brake duty solenoid" and the symptom is "Faulty shifting". Can anybody confirm if this is the correct failure? I did not get any CEL. And if so, where is the brake duty solenoid and how can i replace it? Thanks!
