Skip, that makes no difference. I have C-Clamped quite a few disc brake calipers with no problems. I think his is just shot. Head out to a junkyard and pick up another good one.

Wow! I bet she is just as sad as she is happy. Best of luck to her and the little one. -
BRAT Experts.... give me your $.02

Aint worth much in these parts. No tops, Auto, rust....6-700 tops. The miles help slightly but overall, it doesn't mean jack with that bare bones setup. I am from PA and am now living in NJ (and have traveled around a bit with the military) and I keep up on the prices. The guy's smoking crack if he wants that much. -
I used either 2 or 2 1/4 (Can't remember) on my old BRAT and had no power problems, That thing ran GREAT!

Yeah, Skip said he looked it up and they are the same. I dunno, I swapped mine and noticed the difference. Also, Why would someone write that up as a mod if it wasn't? -
I've been suckered....maybe a bit winded

Hey man, sorry to hear the news. I feel your pain, I know there is no pointing fingers on your part and so I would feel the same if you just needed to talk to him and he didn't return any phonecalls etc. (There COULD POSSIBLY be a reason why that we don't know yet) Anyway, Don't know nuthin about the system. Give it a good once over from start to finish, If you end up replacing instead of repairing then you are gonna be workin in the cold anyway, right? Like it was stated earlier, You never know if it will happen to you again so save a headache and a lot of cursewords and put coil overs on. It will probably quicker and easier and definately more trouble free. If you need your ten bucks towards purchasing parts let me know. I will have it on the 23rd when I get paid (Started a new job, still trying to catch up) -
Looks great!

Might I suggest a tailgate since they are hard to come by.

Yeah those things are fast as hell! I see them on the Speed channel. I bet that engine rips!

Subaru in National Geographic?

I heard about this. Word is that they left the whole car but it rusted away and only the hubcap was left. Why not 4 hubcaps? Well, because they were missing 3. -
No such animal. I believe you are talking about the right quarterpanel. (fenders are in the front) Just bustin your balls!

I have a spare 4 spd d/r out of a BRAT. It was said to be good. (I never ran the car) If you want/need it, email me and we will work something out. I still owe you ten bucks. Boz (It's in the Bloomsburg area).

Caboobaroo, Please re read the post. Amanda's grandpa has just passed away. He never got the chance to get the BRAT that he wanted. Now's not really a good time for the jokes. Boz

So what's best for an old EA81? I would think maybe a manual choke? Electrical items always have issues and water will be warm and you want carbs to be cool. My main concern is the easiest for the dual carbs. Water might take some fabbing to run to both. Same with electric. (But may not be reliable) A manual is run by a cable right? If so, that can be split very easily. I guess none are really that hard but I am looking for the most simple, basic and reliable (for dual carbs) But it is safe to bid on ANY weber 32/36 I guess.
-
You can use either one.
-
Amanda, Sorry to hear the bad news. My sympathies go out to you and your family. May there be a BRAT in Heaven for your grandpa. Boz

It came with a wench??!! What a deal! I would think they would come with a winch.
-
What webers will/will not work? What the heck do the letters mean? DGAV? DGEV? DGV? etc.... I guess I can just stick with 32/36 since that seems to work for everyone. (kinda lookin for my dual carb manifold (EA81), may have to re-jet though) Thanks, The Bozzinator!

That's right, it was unhatched not subarubrat
-
I think you are talking about SubaruBrat. If I remember correctly, He HAD a chevy V-6 in it then switched to a Subaru H-6. (It was a BRAT, not a hatch)

EA81 distributor Question
PHATBRAT replied to bluesbug's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Yeah, I wasn't sure. I remember a thread not too long ago about the "GL-10" and thought someone said they were EA82's only. Sorry for the misinformation. Boz -
Told ya.

EA81 distributor Question
PHATBRAT replied to bluesbug's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
If I remember correctly, an GL-10 is an EA82 model. Look on the front passenger side of the engine to see what it says. As long as they are BOTH EA81's it should work.
