It's a body lift. BTW, Nothing "Drops down" it (suspension, engine etc...) stays were it always was it's just that you are raising the body so it appears that way. I am sure you knew this and just couldn't think of a better way to say it, right? Boz

Hey Stupid, that thing is in great shape! Now I know that when I cruise through your area I can look for you. I am sure you are the ONLY one in the area with a nice old turbo wagon. Hell maybe in PA. Didn't see any rust??!! Someone's grandma's old car or it came from a different state. Nice ride! Boz

Weber carb in Stock one out?
PHATBRAT replied to romcat's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I agree, I used to use CAPS when I got on here because I was too lazy to capitalize the letters that needed it and I thought it looked better but after many complaints, hints, nagging and begging I crossed over to " the other side" It's not bad, come on over. Don't be afraid. As for the Weber, I don't think there is any Cons, It's all Pros from what I hear. Some people have a little trouble with the install but that's the only negative thing I have heard. Not too bad from what I understand,. Everyone that had trouble got through it with the help of the great people on this board. -
NE extension to Allentown Exit. From there you want to go rt 309 N until you intersect with 895. Take 895 West and it will bring you right to the place. Haven't been there in years but last time I was there it was a big gravel driveway off to the left. You should see the sign unless you are blind. This is the easiest way and a nice ride too! Doesn't take that long. Not alot of lights or cars. Boz

PhatBrat-Boz!! I bid on it.
PHATBRAT replied to moosens's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Paul, How bad do you want it? he he he Me thinks me can go there with 51 bucks and say I am "Country Morgan" and the dust will be settled by the time the other guy gets there. Title will be transferred etc..Actually, it was probably a customer's car so the title is probably already signed. Throw a fake plate on, drive 1/2 mile down the road, pretend to break down and store at someone's house for a day or two until you come down and tow with me. DAMN! I'm EVIL! Only reason I didn't bid is because you were, I would have got it, trust me! So...Do you want it??? -
I feel a meeting of the East Coast peoples brewing

He didn't say it wouldn't drive off the lot or wouldn't drive at all, He said it's "not good enough to drive long" -
bad starter contacts, Happens often with EA81'S. Get another from the junkyard and save yourself the headache and pissing around with this one and the expense of a new one. Boz

ROMCAT, Where in NJ are you? There are a couple of us here in NJ and every year there are 1 or 2 meets in Atsion Lake behind the ranger station. They call it the Pine Barrens meet but it isn't really the Pine Barrens. I am in Mt Holly, there is someone in Toms River, One in Williamstown, Oneor tro down near Cape may if I remember correctly, One or two in Philly, One in Trenton etc etc etc. You can change your info to reflect what town in NJ if you want, It helps people from asking what town you are from. Anyway, Welcome to the board! Hope to see you around, Boz

Yeah, It's kinda dumpy place! He probably is a "bubba" doesn't have to be from down south. Apparently, you've never been to skid row, OOPS! I mean browns millls. I was wondering what was going on. I was thinking if you don't make that bid I was gonna. You should have just waited until the end. If not, I bet I could have just gone there and handed him a fifty and been done with it. You probably will still get it for that, Apparently, no one else bid on it. He's not gonna make any money on it because it costs 40 bucks for the initial listing then I think it's like another 40 when it sells. Anyway, Here's my # again 609 702 5966 and my email is cmakar@hotmail.com keep it in your contacts list. Let me know when you would like to come down. Boz -
I've towed a few, funny how they are all chevy's. A cavalier out of a very small pile of freshly plowed snow on the side of the road. A blazer out of a large deep median on rt 81 coming back from Tx. People were all stopped, it was a hell of a storm, I saw the guy hit his brakes to stop but apparently he wasn't so he either slid or swerved off the road waaaay down into the "ditch" (It was alot more than a ditch). MAN, did people look at me funny when I took off after him in the ol' BRAT. They must have thought I was crazy. He did! He never thought that I would make it out by myself nonetheless, pulling his POS. No sweat! A camaro, same storm as above about 10 minutes later, off the shoulder of the road. These are just a few, (within the last 2-3 yrs) I have pulled many others, as a matter of fact, waay back when I still lived in PA, I have helped the police out when they closed the roads (Blizzard of 93 and 96(?) Tough to beat a little suby in the weather! Boz

brat gas gauge not working
PHATBRAT replied to 83projectbrat's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I once had a problem where the wires under the car were so corroded and brittle that they just broke. -
Yep, he's a good guy. He's the one I bought my dual carb manifold from. (EA81 with 2 stock carbs and 1 extra)

Here are a few I like that I feel are the best pics from what was given. I think there are still better ones out there. My Pic 1 Austin in River Weeble 2 Roxanne And definately for December to Wrap it up: King of the hill Although, somewhere out there (I think on Mic's site) there is a pic of a BRAT with Santa in it. I too think SubaruBrat's ride should be in there. Any ideas on pricing for the calendars? Thanks, Boz

Ah that smell - gotta hate it
PHATBRAT replied to Skip's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Are you sure it's the heater core? My wife's Jetta (99) has that smell when I turn the heat on, but I really don't think it's the HC. It's not losing fluid or anything. Years ago, this happened to someone's car (I forget who) and it was something little. What else could it be? -
Starts up then shuts down after 5 sec

It was starving. Judging by the symptoms, The pump definately wasn't my first guess but I would have made it there eventually. What are the chances of a fuel pump being intermittant, ya know what I am saying? Glad to hear(read) that you got it worked out. Boz -
Don't you mean oil pump?

Troy's wagon mis-adventure- wheel falls off!!
PHATBRAT replied to Ratty2Austin's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Sucks doesn't it. I had my wheel fall off when I was on my way to TX. I was doing about 80-85. When my wheel fell off it threw me off the road into a cornfield. I was lucky there were no cars or trucks next to me. (And I wasn't on a bridge or next to a huge drop off) I got buried in the field though. Good thing I was carrying my floor jack and that I had some spare lugs behind the seat. Threw my alignment waaaay off, messed up my fender, melted the bottom of my balljoint (Don't have to worry about that one popping out). Overall, a very fun experience, and what makes it funny is when you are doing 80-85 and when your wheel falls off you see it flying by you as you are being thrown from the highway. Would I do it again, sure, if I had the spare time/money and no one gets hurt. Boz -
EA82/EA81 Intake thought/Idea
PHATBRAT replied to PHATBRAT's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Well, I just ran downstairs to take a looksy to be sure. My turbo motor is carbed however, It has two "runners". Damn, I wonder if I could duplicate this manifold and install two for dual cabs each with it's own "runner" otherwise, find an spare intake manifold like mine and fab something up so I could use 2 carbs. (Dual webers??) So, since this is a carbed motor, I guess I really can't use the spider intake afterall, huh? If I remember I will compare my DC manifold to the one on there and see what is possible. BTW, My dual carb manifold is for an EA81 for whoever was wondering, Sorry I forgot to mention that. Thanks for the great imput, Boz -
It's been said that the EA82 intake would fit an EA81 car right? If so, that would mean that the EA81 would fit the EA82 then. Sooo, I was thinking, Maybe I should put my dual carbs on my EA82T. What do you think? Do you think this would be better than the spider intake? It would definately be the first. (Unless the guys down under have done it) Give me your thoughts/ideas about this. Boz

Sad story Good ending (dual Carbs)
PHATBRAT replied to IsraBrat's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
IsraBrat, If I read this correctly, You will now have 1 complete dual carb engine, and one dual carb manifold with the carbs, Right? If so, would you be interested in selling the extra manifold? I have one already but am asking on behalf of others who may be looking. Thanks, Boz
