  1. please help if you can swing by on the way. I think I need 2 maybe 3 people unless I start ripping it apart. I am in a jam, I wasn't expecting this. http://usmb.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5976 Boz
  2. Went to get my trans today from the junkyard (D/R 5spd) And ended up with my trans, a perfectly good EA82, the rear, 4 good axles, 2 hitch assemblies, driveshaft, etc...All for the same price I was paying for the trans. Oh and 4 good tires, 2 of which still have the tits on them. BUT, I can't go to the PB like this, I need help unloading out of my BRAT. Can 2 or 3 of you guys swing by to help me unlolad? If not, I won't make the PB unless I come in my mustang. And I will have to take this stuff apart piece by piece from the back of the BRAT. Stand by for pic. Will be in my album later. Boz
  3. Bradd, I thought the WRX was a turbocharged 2.0? But you are right, too much money on his hands...
  4. I just might make it. Don't know what time I will be there though because the wife wants to take the kids for pumpkins etc.. then she said she'd come with me. We'll see about that, I will believe it when I see it. She didn't want me to go put I had to put my foot down and remind her who's in charge around here. I only let her think she is on a normal basis. Anyway, If I come late (12-1?) where am I going? Atsion lake? I think that is where you guys said you were gonna be. Let me know. Don't think I will be wheeling this time around though. What is there to do for the people that don't go wheeling? Is there a group that sits around and shoots the breeze? Everything is in the air right now so to speak. Boz
  5. It could be a very small rod knock that you could only hear at low rpm's. Once the rpm's are higher the engine noise may drown out a small knock. Well, I guess you'll know if/when it gets worse. When the engine is toast and you can't find a new one in Tx, I want the body kit. Boz
  6. it's all cool with me. Let me know if you change your mind about the kit. I will be first in line. Boz
  7. Yeah, I may be looking for another kit but cheap of course.
  8. You should be happy! I never get a break. I have NEVER been given a warning. Heck, I get tickets for stuff that I don't even do. But that's NJ for you.
  9. Yep, Definately sounds like they have the wrong amount of tension on them.
  10. Tonight I finally got around to at least peeling the tape off of the RX body kit that barracuda sent to me. I walked it over to my sedan to see if it would match up or if it had to be shortened or anything. *Note: I only attempted the side skirts, nothing else. (this goes for the rest of the story too) Anyway, On my way back to the garage I have to pass my BRAT and just happened to notice that it looks about the same length. So me being me, I put the side skirt up against the BRAT and it appears that it fits perfect. Not only that but it looks really cool on a BRAT. Tomorrow, I will see if the rest will match up. I was going to keep this a secret but I am too excited, was afraid someone else may beat me to the idea, and I will probably never get around to doing it so I thought I would share the idea. Just for the record, It was MY idea (For future reference) Boz
  11. OK, Since I didn't do a rebuild, I am assuming the general concensus says it is safe to use synthetic. The motor is already broken in. Anyone care to challenge this? If not I think I may try it. Boz
  12. Are you sure it's not a bad window seal? I have a bad seal but I looked and looked and couldn't find anything until one day I finally found it. It soaks the floor
  13. On my EA82T. 54,000 miles. Been sitting for a while (Couple years..2?) Anyway, Me, Hocrest and Dennis are doing new timing belts, cam seals, oil pump and I will probably do new water pump, tune-up etc later on but I was curious what the general concensus says. Should I start using synthetic or should I use regular oil? What weight do you guys recommend? 20W50? Clue me in. Boz
  14. Dennis is looking for a front bumper if yours is in good shape and cheap. How much for a drivers side fender. (Only if it is perfect) BTW, for future reference, A post such as this should go in the marketplace. One of the moderators will probably move this one for you. Boz
  15. Yep. They are by far the best junkyard that I have been to. Probably the best on the east coast. They are known for being the largest U pull it junkyard in the world. (Supposedly) They are pretty DAMN big but the largest in the world....hmmmm, maaaaaybe There are some big yards out there. Funny thing is that this one is in the middle of a "city" and not only that but no matter how warm it is anywhere else, When you walk through Harry's gates guess what, You better be wearing thermals cuz it's ALWAYS cold as a bitch and windy as hell. Sorry for the words getting a little rough.
  16. 160?? and that's pulling it yourself?? Where do you live, NJ?? These yards are getting crazy. I will stick with Harry's in Hazleton where you get the complete engine for $50 TOPS. Heck, sometimes they have those deals where you pay like 20 bucks to get in and it's all the parts you can carry out kinda deal. I wonder when the next one is.
  17. Yeah, Just rebuild. I have forgotten just how much fun it is to mess with an engine until Hocrest and Dennis showed up at my house. I haven't done anything like that in YEARS and I already have the itch to tear down one of my old EA81's just to play around. Boz
  18. Dave/Dennis, Thanks for showing up! We (you guys) made more progress than I would have on my own. I appreciate the help. Can't wait until it's done. Dennis, Email me so we can set a date to finish. Let me know when you want those rims. Anyone else that wants to come to part II is more than welcome. Sorry about the spring incident...ha ha ha Boz
  19. Hey guys, If you read this before you come, please bring some tools if you can, especially if you have a torque wrench. I should basically have everything else. Thanks, See you hopefully no earlier than 930. Boz
  20. You got it! Just remember in the crappy state of NJ you have to go right to go left (Jughandle)
  21. Just so you know, It's not a subaru brushguard. As for what they call it, who knows.
  22. check out http://www.paeco.com very expensive but they know their sh*t.
