  1. No way, It's just like the strip club. If you "aint" here then you "ain't" gonna see a thing. J/K
  2. Just drive it with bad axles. I've been doing it for a while now. No harm. Handles a little differently and probably more drag (seems that way) but no harm done. This is only if you don't want to spend any money. If you are willing to spend 25 bucks and an hour and a half tops then replace the axles with ones from the junkyard.
  3. Well, I wasn't gonna say anything cause I was thinking if I make it I will just show up and surprise you, and if I don't you won't miss me. Anyway, I may make it but I won't be getting dirty because of a bad axle. I am running in 4wd to turn rear wheels to go. However, If anyone wants to see me make mud fly, you will have to hand over your keys and let me teach all of you how it's done. Your car may not survive if you hand me your keys though. :boohoo:
  4. My most recent "good find" besides my rims was when I was in Tx. Now they don't have alot of Subarus down in that area where I was so I had to take what I could get. What I took was a full brushguard off of an old wagon, a hood, a fender, and then at the other yard I went to I actually paid for disc brakes. Gotta love Texas yard with their chicken wire fences and brightly lit full moons. It's like working in the day but with no one around. Ha Ha Ha Oh yeah, I also got a rust free dent free door off of a BRAT That was "free" too
  5. Just bring yourself, your girl, and some tools if you have em. I don't even know what I have anymore. Lost some in an accident a few years back, lent some out and lost some (Or they were stolen) I still have the grill out so we can burn up a few dogs/burgers if you guys want. I'd like to get started early in the day because I am sure this will take a while unless one of you guys is an expert in this area. I have never done T belts/cam seals/oil pump before but I have the FSM. Just want to take my time and do it right. What time works for you guys (To start) ???
  6. I am off of rte 541. 890 Woodlane Rd Mt Holly, NJ 08060 Mapquest it or call me or email me for specific directions. Boz
  7. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! That's too funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You just got SLAMMED!!!!!!!!
  8. My wife says " Bring your wives/girlfriends if they are hot and she'll "entertain" them inside" Lots of beer+Hot chicks hmmmmm Guys gotta stay outside and wrench!!!!!
  9. 88, Depends what part of Tx. From Wichita falls I know it takes 27 hrs straight including stopping for gas and stopping for food once. All of this at around 75-80 MPH and taking rt 44 to 40 to 81N to the PA tpk to the NJ tpk. You gonna make it? Hocrest, Hope you can make it too!
  10. Kinley's used to have TONS of older scooby stuff. It just so happens that I called them one day and the guy told me they tossed it all out 2 days earlier. I almost cried. Gotta check the small yards that most don't know about. That's where the goodies are. Boz
  11. I have some wheels I can sell you. 15 inch alloys. Shipping across the country would probably kill you though. Boz
  12. It's driving me nuts!!!! I have been keeping in touch with the guy I sold my old BRAT to. I always ask him how it's running, what he has done so far (He is restoring it) etc etc. He appears to be a really anal weirdo but that's besides the point. Anyway, He tells me, I fixed the front hubs/brake assemblies, replaced all axles because they were bad, the suspension is shot but haven't fixed it yet, the trans is really screwed up, the exhaust studs were totally stripped, the drivetrain has a weird noise, the engine needs work and has a lot of blow by etc.. This just upsets me. That car was my baby. There was NOTHING wrong with it when I sold the car to him except the exhaust having a small hole where it was previously welded. That car ran so damn good. Better than all the cars I have owned except my maxima which of course was newer. The axles weren't bad! The brakes were fine. Nothing wrong with the trans except for the sloppy shifter which he knew of but the trans worked just fine. Rear suspension was fairly new and front was fine. The studs were fine because I had replaced them. No noise from the drivetrain. Blow by, Yeah right. In my mind, I know this guy is anal and will replace everything on the car just to make it new and that is good in that respect. However, It bothers me that he says this was bad, this was shot, etc... sort of blaming things on me just to make up for his obsessive compulsive diorder. I already wish that I didn't sell that car, this just makes it worse! Thanks for listening! I don't really feel better but at least I got to vent a little. Boz
  13. 4 hands are better than 2. Thanks man. Email me for directions or just wait till it gets closer to the date and I will post it. We'll see what the weather will be doing then. I appreciate the help! BTW, Do you guys drink beer? I don't drink. But I had a family type party a while back and have lots of beer to get rid of. All types. My wife drank what she liked and refuses to drink anything that's left.
  14. I do believe the post you are talking about was McBrat's. It can and has been done. Just as safe/sturdy as toyota 6 lug rims which has been done. You can drill out rims or hubs depending on the wheels you get and your preference. Boz
  15. For those who offered to help, I am thinking Saturday the 18th. Let me know if you can make it. What you want (eat/drink/money?) We'll take it from there. Thanks, Boz
  16. I have a spare EA81 but shipping would definately kill you.
  17. Mike, You're holding out on us. What's she do? What's she do? Got pics???
  18. You're sure it's the brakes? And your sure it grinds? Can you feel it in the pedal or does it pull? Is it one side or both? How's your fluid level? Your fluid will build up pressure once everything is "warmed up" . Try starting your car and just pumping the pedal for a minute or two then drive it and see if it still does it. He doesn't sound like a very good mechanic if he couldn't tell you what it is. Let us know. Boz
  19. Yeah, I'd have to say between NJ and PA the most re-occuring Subaru that I see is a 2wd wagon. White and Blue being the most popular. Boz
  20. If they are grinding then they must be bad. Probably ruined your rotor by now. Just replace them and then you don't have top worry anymore. Plus, remember, Brake dust is very corrosive. I just had front brake problems with my mustang. It was doing the same thing. The brake dust ate my wax off that side of my car. and actually stuck to the car and rim and is now rusting.
