ATTn Skip (OR ANYONE, I NEED HELP)
PHATBRAT replied to PHATBRAT's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
What will it come out of? Will it be a 5 spd from a wagon with pushbutton 4wd? Or can I get it from another car like Dennis's 4 dr rx (hmmm, How long does it take to steal one, ha ha ) -

OK, I must be retarded! I could have swore that all cars have flywheels, autos with torque converters and manuals with clutch/pressure plates. I guess I am just dumb, I don't get the chance to mess with this stuff like I used to. It's been many years. I am kinda looking for a 5 spd that will fit in here. Can I use one from a wagon? If so, what one (Yrs, models? etc...) I hate auto's. Anyone have the stuff for a 5 spd swap for sale or trade? Boz -

As you can see if you look close at #2, there are some welds. But is it me or does this NOT look like a typical flywheel. Looks like it's half flywheel and half torque converter. If this is it, what part do I get shaved down?? -

Is that the Jersey Devil's brother??? -
Can you post those pics of the EA82 flywheels up for me again (Before and after) I must be crazy cause I opened the hood of my 87 4wd turbo sedan (Auto) and what I pulled out looks more like a torque converter than a flywheel. Or both, welded together. I want to be 100% sure before I get this thing shaved down. Supposed to meet my brother tomorrow to swap some parts etc. and this is one thing that will be going his way. It was the last thing I can pull from the tranny without ripping it down. It has splines on the inside. (I must sound really dumb here but I want to be sure because the last flywheel that I have seen was yrs ago and it was somewhat flat, not round, and if I remember correctly, it bolted on with like 5 bolts) Am I crazy? Need some pics asap please, Thanks man, I appreciate it. (Or anyone else that has pics from the side) Boz

PHATBRAT replied to Bugaru's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Looks like one of those needles is un-used. Anything in it?? J/K It seems to me that alot of cars have been getting stolen up in that area, Whats up with that? If you find out for sure who it is, Make sure they are flogged one time for every mile that they put on your car. Boz -
That's the thing they sell in autozone right? I asked about it about 2 yrs ago and no one knew anything about it.

not getting fire to the plugs
PHATBRAT replied to molokai's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
When you replaced the disty cap did you replace the rotor as well? Also, are the wires hooked up (The ones connected to the disty?) Did it ever run since you have had it? Does it crank? Make sure the coil wires are connected and correct. Is there any cracks in the wires themselves? Look real hard after you ensure that everything is hooked up and hooked up correctly. Sounds like something stupid. This should get you started. Boz -

I will email you his address. I tried the net and 411 for a phone number but that was a dead end. I will send the email now. Thanks, Boz -
My old grey BRAT used to run pretty damn good. If I was racing someone or getting on the highway, I ALWAYS redlined it. I think it does a sube some good. Well, at least the EA81's. They don't break.

Is there anyone in/near portland that knows Tom?? I really need help here. 68 bucks is alot when you are unemployed. I know if this was someone else having a problem with someone near me I would help you out by tracking the person down, Making sure your part get shipped, Money gets shipped back or that the person gets a 68 dollar nose job. I know there are some of you in this area. -
I want to hear from the guys that have been around for a while and sell stuff, What do you think you would ask if you had one for sale? What do you think would make the sale here (Range bottom to top) Boz

Does anyone know how to get ahold of him so I don't have to resort to my stalker ways. (That usually leads to unpleasant experiences). I am trying to do this the nice way first and give the benefit of the doubt. Boz -
Yeah, How much would you want for it and if you have pics it would definately help, Boz

I am not sure what models this will/will not work on. I don't know, but my guess is that it would have to be an EA81 because of the way it hooks up.

In another post on this board I mentioned that I have a CC (Cruise control) unit still in the box. I can list the SOA # if needed. Anyway, 2 people showed interest in it and I am not sure really what it is worth. It was for my friend's 88 hatch and he gave it to me for my BRAT but I never used it. I haven't called the dealer yet (They probably don't carry it anymore but I am sure they could tell me a price) So what do you guys think it's worth? I have a figure in my head but I need other opinions. I forget who was #1 in line but I know Shawn was #2. I can always go back to see who was #1. Yes, I found it on a shelf in my garage. Looking forward to all replies, Thanks, Boz

I sent you 3 emails already about the alternator that I paid for and you have not responded to any of them. Please respond and send my alternator. I sent you a money order for the XT6 alternator that you posted for sale. I am currently unemployed and really had to stretch funds to send that money so if you are not going to send it then send me a money order back for the same amount. (I even sent you an extra 3 dollars. I just realized here on the post it said 65 to the door then you told me 68 so I sent 68.) Thanks, Boz http://usmb.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1280
