  1. Yeah, Try to equal the time between her and your hobbies. You both need time to do your thing. And MORE importantly though is your family. Toys come and go. I try to play while my wife is away or when she wants to do her thing. Or sometimes, I will do my thing and call it a early night so that I can snuggle up on the couch for a good movie with her (win-win situation). There really is no right or wrong or definate rule. It will be different for every couple out there. You just gotta go with your gut feeling. You do not necessarily have to become interested in her hobbies, but you damn sure better listen when she wants to talk about them. 2 reasons. 1. It lets her know (or at least think) that you care and 2. when it comes time for her BDAY or when you want something you take care of her first. If you are out and spot a porcelain doll and have the extra $, buy it for her. That will win her over every time. (BUT, like I said, this is where paying attention to her comes into play. She may state to you at some point in time that she wants a specific doll and just can't seem to find it. Well, if you listened you will know it when you find it. Also, There are alot of cheap imitation porcelain dolls. You gotta learn from her what is good stuff and what is cheap trash) Just a quick word advice from The Bozzinator.
  2. How bad do you guys want the PUGS? I know where there are a few. I have a couple myself and I know where there are 2 more sets. One set steelys and one set alloys or aluminum or whatever they are. Also, How much are you willing to pay for them excluding shipping? The yard these are at is a little pricy. PM me if SERIOUS. (I have had a few people interested in stuff but never send money or anything and keep promising that they want this part or that but then drop off the face of the earth.) This can be frustrating for a poor guy like myself. Boz
  3. 1st of all, Where the heck are you located? 2nd, If you are close, I have a carbed EA82 sitting in my driveway that runs I will give you a better deal than the JY. I am in NJ, where are you? PM me if you are close/interested. Sometimes I forget to go back and check the threads. Boz
  4. I didn't subscribe, I just ran across it while on the carlisle website www.carsatcarlisle/mailinglist As for sparks from a grinder or welder, yeah, I made that mistake as well.
  5. Well, my only comment is do not sandblast body parts/sheetmetal. Other parts such as control arms and things of that nature that are located under the car, no problem but do yourself a favor and do not blast the body. It will be 3x the work for you to fix the mess you create. You may not see it but it is there. Ask around. If you know someone in highschool or a vocational school ask them if they have access to a blaster and if they would be willing to do it for you. My old highschool has a booth that works wonders, the one that the base has works fairly well but it is a cabinet so nothing big will fit. Not that anyone cares, I just felt like saying that. Boz P.S. Here's your 2 cents
  6. Do you have any pics showing what you mean? I just can't picture it right now.
  7. That car is cool. Looks like you need a big old air dam in the front. After its all said and done, A nice paint job and tinted windows would really kick *****
  8. Chattering Windshield Wipers Sure are Annoying! Windshield wipers chatter and skip even though they are new? The reason is that your windshield is dirty! Yeah, we know you cleaned it with Windex after washing the car, but it's still dirty with an invisible film of road salts and oils. This film must be scrubbed off. The best thing to accomplish this task is Bon Ami cleanser, still found in its original 1940s-style can in the supermarket. Wet down the windshield, liberally sprinkle the powder and scrub with a soft-bristle brush (you know, the kind your Grandmother used to scrub the kitchen floor with). Rinse thoroughly and dry off with paper towels. You can clean older wiper blades the same way too, since the films accumulate on them as well. Tip for this tip: Do this before washing the car to avoid mess. 2nd Tip for this tip: Don't (repeat: DON'T), use Ajax or Comet or any other chlorinated or pumice-containing cleanser. If you do, you're going to have to learn how to re-polish the windshield glass. We'll be doing an article on how to do that, but that's later… Visit SecondChanceGarage.com. They will show you how to take it apart, restore it, get it back together and have fun doing it. Written by those who have done it for those who are doing it!
  9. Amanda, Welcome to the NASBC (North American Subaru BRAT Club)
  10. That looks like it belongs there. Maybe an inch higher however, much better than stock. Good find
  11. I am on a 9.95/month 56K dial up and the pics came up for me right away (even with a slow connection I think it was like 41) I would absolutely love to see that beast in person. Scott, Bring it up to NJ.
  12. Scott, What did the roll bar come off of? BTW, Your BRAT TOTALLY kicks *****! Hopefully, the people that see it will want to run right out and buy a subaru. I would absolutely love to use yours as a guide to build one for me but I just can't afford it. Now that I am thinking of it, did you do the write up for your lift? Or for stuffing the ER27 in there? Excellent job! Keep it up. Boz
  13. Looks just like my 87. Except mine has different hubcaps, auto trans (right now) and 52K
  14. Did you buy the Hatch already lifted? If so, whose was it? PK Davis lift or homemade? OR did you lift it yourself? Just gotta search for stuff. Bumpers, You probably won't find factory ones but you should still look. It's best to either fab the stuff up yourself or have someone do it for you.
  15. I think the list you are talking about was from Va westward. Anyway, What part of NJ? When?
  16. That sucks! What is it with you guys up in Washington getting your rides stolen or broken into? I guess there is a downside to being in Subaru country. Around here, People wouldn't even THINK to look in nonetheless STEAL an old Subaru.
  17. Well, If you feel the dolly is unsafe then Yes, Use something different and have the one you have checked out by a professional. As for the ball on the bumper, I don't suggest that. Yes, They are supposed to be rated for towing etc. but I have seen too many bumpers ripped off and too many that have been bent. (98% of the time it is operator error because either people don't know how to tow or they overload their vehicles or a combination of both) Whatever you do, be safe. Losing a load that big on the highway can cause a huge mess and possibly loss of life. It will cost more than 128 dollars! (88 in the bank+the 40 for gas)
  18. yeah, someone beat me to it. Go back up there, Hook it up and do 50 the whole way with flashers on. Stay in right lane. Bite the bullet, You are wasting more time trying to find an alternative route. Don't be so impatient, You could have had the car home by now. Plus, Any other way, you are not only wasting more time but your last 88 dollars. What's the rush? People that rush usually end up having/causing accidents.
  19. Yeah, Tim is still around and I am sure he'd be more than happy to help. I believe he had his welded from the pillars next to the WS up. It's not too difficult to line that up when it's cut. Any respectable body shop can easily do that, although like someone else said, it will cost you. I have a top already cut out for you and the tops to go with it. PM me to make an offer if you need it. Boz
  20. Thanks man, Couldn't have come at a better time. I just got done fighting with my wife about a new car since I just sold my mustang and she called my parents up so they can lecture me. What a joke! I am printing this out right now to hand to her.
  21. Aren't they just regular peanut bulbs? If so, check autozone, napa, abc, or one of the other places.
  22. Yeah, That must be the car that Wonderwoman sold to Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy. I have only seen it once.
  23. Oh, that's not the question. Imprezas are all over. My old man's friend has a tranny shop and the way it sounds is like it is something stupid and easily fixable. That's why I may jump on it. I already emailed the guy with a few questions and such. Trying to set up a day to take a peek.
  24. I know of a real clean EA81T wagon in a wichita falls junkyard.
