It shouldn't. Most of the rebuild kits I have purchased come with two types of needle and seat and you just have to use the one that is most similar to the existing one. If you only have one version in your kit, then it should work fine. They may have changed the design to fewer larger holes because they won't clog as easily as smaller ones and they only have to drill once with a larger bit in production rather than 3 times with a smaller bit to produce the part. That would be my guess anyway.
