  1. Use the barbed fitting off of the original carb. As seen here in the highlighted region: You have to tap the threads into the weber. This allows you to connect both lines to to the same fitting, like stock.
  2. Plus it's got '82 headlight bezels w/no 3rd eye and an '84-style honeycomb grille. Weird because it all fits together perfectly. The honeycomb grille *should* be much too short to fit properly.
  3. Not sure what you mean, but here's a post aboot the swap.
  4. No points on an '84, m'friend. But you were half-right. Welcome, Greybeard The yellow wire(there's actually 2 of them), goes on the negative terminal of the coil.
  5. I did, looks proper smart eh? This ought to be a fun project. These things are incredibly simple to troubleshoot and work on. I brought an '82 back to life not too long ago. It was parked 6 years ago with a seized engine. Replaced it with a good used unit i had. Never looked back. Have fun!!
  6. The 1982 uses the 7 7/8" clutch disc, while the 1984 MY uses an 8 7/8" disc. Swapping in the '82 flywheel would be counterproductive, especially for an "offroad toy". It may be possible, but why Stick the '82 tranny into the '84 and use the big clutch. my .02
  7. ************ty drivers like you shouldn't be allowed to carry passengers. Oh yea, welcome aboard.
  8. Yea Jeremy wtf....we met up. I even had the wagon there. Jibs is gonna have the gnarliest gen 1 brat around. Damn him and his ability to find RX's They've been on a sub crushing frenzy over there in CC, they crushed the '79 brat and the mint hatch and who knows what else, but there's way less to pick from.
  9. I had the vent line coming from the firewall capped after going through with the weber swap (I deleted the canister at that time). I didn't think it would have any effects, but i was obviously wrong. It drove great for 40 miles, although i can't quite say it's fixed, because of the ghost-like nature of the problem. If it does/doesn't occur in the next week or so, i'll let it be known.

  11. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showpost.php?p=81078&postcount=2 This gives me some clues...
  12. 1984 GL Wagon 4wd I went with new fuel filters and also plugs, wires, cap 'n' rotor for kicks. Still the same occasional fuel starvation issue. Today, on the way back from the junkyard, it started up right away as i left the parking lot. Really bad, could hardly even putt off to the side of the highway. Popped the hood to look around and noticed the vapor separator appeared to have a rolling boil inside (it wasn't hot, only air). Opened the fuel tank cap and it stopped. Also, when i shut off the motor after running for a while, i notice a "glug-glug-glug" sound coming from the fuel tank. This is driving me loopy, as soon as i think it's fixed there it is again. Makes it tough to diagnose! Any insight into this issue?
  13. JB says early. Not sure what that means. If his early is anything like Brians' it'll be noon:lol:
  14. Zeno, you getting any snow up there? Not a flake down here. Anyone else in? It looks like me 'n Jibs are the only fools that'll be out there for sure.
  15. You failed to mention the fly-eye air filter, jeep cherokee grille, en fuego walmart seat cover, and jury rigged shifter. I'd personally get a wagon if i were to use it for paper delivery. More room, plus your ************ wont blow around or get wet.
  16. Sounds good JB. There is a 79 Brat there, tried to PM you a month ago when i first saw it, but your box was full Pretty gnarly 4runner, Brian. Locked front and rear?! As long as there's no rock crawling involved, i'm sure we can keep up for the most part.
  17. Snow seems likely this weekend, according to the forecast. My 30 day window for returns is gettin' slim, so I'll be there.
  18. Who wants to meet up ? I gots to return some junk, and poke around for hours, of course I'm thinkin' perhaps this Sunday, 2/15 ?
  19. What did those wheels come off of ? The offset is ***************in!
  20. Nice lookin' swingback. I have 27x8.5x14's on my UNlifted hatch: ...and they don't rub at all. Then again, i don't wheel it.
  21. That is gorgeous! Did the striping decals come stock or did you add 'em?!?
  22. I watched all the videos, pretty cool stuff. I think that Legacy would be pretty tough with a D/R tranny. Even if it does look like a Ford Taurus :-p
