  1. I searched up some info regarding this transplant and haven't come up with any definitive facts regarding what clutch parts to use from each year vehicle I am looking for knowledgeable confirmation...perhaps a list of sorts. Also since it is lifted (3"), are there any modifications needed? I thought i read somewhere about grinding out the hole in the floor to make up the distance that the shifter is lowered. :-\ i don't know... thats why i'm asking. thanks
  2. +1 p.s that exterior video was awesome quality, much potential w/ that camera pete
  3. It has been completely tuned in the last 3k miles but has been bucking and running a little rough lately. And, actually, the tach has been jumping around erratically lately. I'd have to agree that the disty is on it's last leg, but assumed that was a separate issue than the code 73. Really just looking for the answer to:
  4. Apologies, it is a true Hatchback with the EA81, CA specs $hitachi carb, d/r 4spd. I understand that the weber is the best option and is on the long list of "to-do's", but i just would like to know what the Ignition Pulse System is all about and why i'm getting the 73 code thrown at me. Thanks.
  5. Bump from the dead for help with this question Stock '86 Hatch d/r 4wd. Thank you.
  6. I had similar overheating issues. Flushing the heater core and replacing the radiator with a new one worked like a charm. my $.02
  7. Did you check where the heater hoses are connected at the splicer?
  8. I feel your pain Wayyyy too many here as well.
  9. That's what i was looking for I appreciate your answer. I'll bring this post back from the dead when i do it' date=' with a (hopefully) successful story and some pictures to boot.[/right']
  10. Thanks screwball , way to go, congrats. Now that i know it is fairly simple and straight forward i feel real confident:rolleyes: jeremy, i'm going with a known good 82 4spd. I found that while using the search function, but i appreciate the gesture! :-\
  11. 84 GL Wagon, d/r 4sp, 3 in. lift ... I'll be starting my garage-warming project pretty soon and need some detailed direction on how to drop the tranny for replacement. This will be the first one for me and all the literature i have ( FSM, HTKYSA) don't really dive into this. thanks.
  12. They may not have tranny fluid parse, but they do have gear oil which you should indeed replace yearly.
  13. G'day mate. Can't miss a blue brat with bright yellow rims, i'll be on the lookout. peace, Pete
  14. NV Zeno, was that you in the CLEAN light blue wagon ? I thought you had a brush guard, but this one was in the same light blue with the same type of ski racks...hmm. I was in the dark brown hatch. Also saw a nice yellow wagon heading southbound on 395 in Gardnerville.
  15. Nothing is surprising with Le Swab. They've told me brake parts were broken that didn't even exist on the vehicle:rolleyes: On a positive note, glad you found a place to balance your wheels!
  16. Thanks for all the help, especially the picture TSJ. There is a ratcheting noise coming from the drivers side front wheel area, and i was under the impression that the backing plate had been left off. Sometimes the sound is hardly even there, but after wheeling, it's really loud and obnoxious.
  17. 84 GL Wagon, d/r. I need to get a backing plate for my drivers side front brake assembly and the FSM nor HTKYSA refer to this part. Going to pick'n'pull @ noon, so any help would be appreciated.
  18. I've used one off of an 83 Toyota tercel and the threads were exactly the same. So, one could assume that other Japanese knobs would work, although i can't confirm this.
