  1. No worries, I just thought you were repeating yourself. As far as I remember the cats are differant between the EA and EJ. I think they have differant numbers. If you have the stock EJ y-pipe, you can put a new cat in it if you would like. You will have to cut the y-pipe to fit... The EA car suspension is the same. And the same cut and modified y-pipe from the EJ18 will bolt right onto the EJ22 if you decide to upgrade later as I did. Nothing changes, if I remember right the 18 and 22 heads are almost identical. So to answer your question about will it change from motor to motor, yes it will. Putting a magnaflow cat inplace of the stock, there is no need. If the cat is working fine... dont replace it.
  2. When swaping to an EJ you will have to cut your y-pipe or the cat will hit your sway bar. So to answer your question. You could keep yours and cut it apart and weld it in. Or just like I answered in your other exhaust thread, you can get a magnaflow cat and weld it in place of your stock cat'd y-pipe. And I answered your other question in your other exhaust thread about yes it will fit... I had an EJ18 in my brat and then swapped to the EJ22. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=124485
  3. So.... I am gonna have to bail on this weekends. The big rig diesel races were rescheduled for this saturday night ***holes!!!! Wish I could still make both...
  4. Thanks for the long winded compliment when I was at the wscc it did have the EJ18. But like I said either it has the EJ22 now. Which in my opinion they sound pretty much the same.
  5. EJ18 exhuast is the same as the EJ22. I for one had an EJ18 in my brat when I first did my EJ swap. Now it has a built EJ22. I have a magnaflow cat to a mangaflow single in dual out. I do belive I ran 2" exhuast. I also tipped the tips to the outside corners under the bed.
  6. The Big Northwest Subaru Meet is this weekend of the 9th! Whos is going and what are you bring? I am bring my lifted BRAT!
  7. I will be bringing my lift blue brat which is also ej swapped.
  8. I am going to try this and see how well it works in my WRX BRAT.
  9. So I read through his right up (really great info), but still didn't find what I was looking for. I really like the idea of using the red wry factory calipers, but I never seen what kind of bracket was needed. I am looking to find someone that has done this upgrade and can give some words of advice on parts needed.
  10. Would the 06-07 wrx need the extra bracket? That is the look I am going for... red calipers and black, well maybe black/chrome wheels.
  11. Good to know in the years, I plan on using knucks and struts from an ealy 90's legacy, 89-94. I also plan on running a 17 inch wheel, so caliper clearance isnt an issue.
  12. I am going to go a 5 lug swap on my other brat, I will be using the legacy front knuckles and struts and what not. I was looking to see if there was a factory type upgrade for the brakes. As in wrx sti rs... I thought I seen somewhere on here that you can use wrx front calipers and rotors but you would need to get a mounting plate from subaru... cant find that thread anymore...
  13. This is not answering the question... You are saying that you THINK it weighs that much... That is NOT the tounge weight. You are refering the the GVW (gross vehile weight) which is the second part of figuring what hitch you need. You NEED to know your tounge weight to determine what class of hitch you need... If you dont know how to do that (just read above, Nipper told you how to do this) then just get a class 3 hitch with a 2 inch reciever. You could just take it to a hitch shop and they can tell you what you need.
  14. I didnt, I know Mugs took pics of everyone leaving Safeway. And Rob had the video...
  15. I have thought about the spacers... I want my wheels and tires to sit right at the outside of the fender and not any wider... and I also plan on a wide wheel and tire to.
  16. I even got the drive picture with another Subaru in it
  17. Here is the pictures I took... Not that many this year...
  18. I know that you can bolt up the EA82 front cross member in and that would widen the front and and solve alot of problems, But this also widen the front an 1.5 inches if I remember so, thus would have a wider stance in the front. I dont want that at all. I want to stay the same width if at all possible.
  19. Not going to speak for all the guys on the east side, but I dont think they would be willing to drive all the way over... But on the other hand, could be good for all the people over here with brats to get together.
  20. What is this? I cant remember.....
