  1. Yes there is, use the search option, there is loads of info on EJ swaps and many other mods. Welcome to the board!
  2. Thats a great idea for your boy. My brat was a small project for my dad and I to get it back on the road. Sounds like he found some good motivation at the brat meet?
  3. Every supercharged cooper is was a 1.8l engine. If your wanting to detune the charger, you will have to go to a bigger pully. Check out Alta for a pully. I put alot of these pulleys on when I worked for Mini. What ever you do, do not split the case of the charger. You cannot buy the oil that goes in it.
  4. Thanks, when you build your bumper/bumpers, take your time and do it right the first time. If you cob it together you most likely wont like it later. If you want to put lights, winch, recovery points etc on it... plan ahead! I got everything fab'd and painted and wanted fog lights and forgot about the winch plug. Have all your parts first. I took about 4 nights after work to build my front bumper. For the control arms, maybe think about one: picking better lines? I have only damaged 1 arm in 7 years. (hammer fixed it). Or maybe some 3/4" angle iron welded to the top to give it a little more structure.
  5. It is all made out of pieces, and little pieces cut at 22 1/2 degrees to go around the corner. The back one I made in highschool about 7 years ago. It was basically built the same way. Here is some pictures of the front being built http://www.myspace.com/sandman660/photos/albums/album/2440247
  6. I built both front and rear bumpers from scratch. Well the front I built off the factory brush gaurd. There is a couple good pics in the WCSS 12 pictures and the BRAT meet in Ellensburg in the meet and greet section. 7. Cool video, you can hear when I snapped my rear axle at the end. The second time in the pit I think was better. p.s. has an EJ18.
  8. This is the body work picture that I have. And the end result.
  9. I had to do the same also, but I made it to Cle elum.
  10. My tires were always balanced correctly. If the 4 studs that were put in the backing plate were tightened first it would shake. If I tightened the 2 original studs first (to 80 ft lbs.) then tighten the other 4, it is fine, no shaking.
  11. I had the same problem you are having. I went and had my tires rebalanced the other day and told them how to bolt them on. They did 3 the right way and the pass. front just willy nilly. It shook about 40-45 mph. I retourqed them and its all good not. Tested to 85 mph and no shaking. I would try this before throwin out money that is not needed.
  12. Take your wheels off and mark the 2 original studs with something on the end. Then put your wheels back on and tourqe those original 2. Then put the other 4 nuts on and tourqe them. See if this helps you any.
  13. I am making speaker boxes today for the brat. So I wont be on here very often. Call or text about leaving for the WCSS12. 253-255-6532 Andy
  14. Will do! Got your number, I will give you a little more of a heads up before wwe leave.
  15. Yeah Rob, that is kinda what I was thinking, Kinda out of the way for him if he comes down to 512 with all the traffic.
  16. I dont plan on speeding myself, maybe 5-10 over or with the flow of traffic. Noah, were you thinking of joining up with us somewhere along 18 or of 512?
  17. This is where I was thinking of meeting. The safeway store @ 112th of Canyon. Meet there about 6ish and leave about 6:30ish. That was the route I was going to take also.
  18. What about fuel? Mine did the same thing, the put couldnt keep up with the demand of the motor. Would charge the line, enough to start and rev then just die. I cycled my key a couple times and it could run a little longer. Just my 2 cents...
  19. Type of Wrenching: Shadetree What: Old school subarus, MINI Cooper & BMW How long doing it: 5 years certified tech. last 2 years... City worker, need I say more? Other skills: Just about anything, jack of all trades. Anything to do with fabbing, repairing or constructing, I can do it.
